  1. You were in the right area. Generally, with the old push rod type release, it is the Release Screw Assy mechanism that wears out and gets "notchy". This will cause a grab or hesitation near full release. Replace it. While in there, remove and check closely the other associated parts. Don't break anything, some of these parts are discontinued and will be hard to find new or used. 24 SKU: 23200-44100 SCREW ASSY, RELEASE Includes Item(s) 25 - 26 1 $32.35 http://www.powersportspro.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/parts.aspx http://webservices.motorsportdealers.com/parts/partImages/SUZ/2/02/57/0016.Gif edit: If the push rod is exposed at all to the chain, make sure it hasn't ever been hit by the chain and damaged. Same for any part where the chain could hit if it stretched or broke in the past. One more thing. I didn't see an LZ model, I saw a 450L and a 450EZ, but no 450LZ. I think it's all the same part, but make sure you get the right one.
  2. thinking about that... how about one of those squirrel catapults, only bigger, for 'yotes. Launch them into the next county...
  3. We set them off here at our auto classes, to demonstrate that it's not a toy and will kill you if it has the chance. I watched one fire into the air about 50-60 feet, and down range a considerable distance. And it's rather loud.
  4. yum. next gen 919. oem fightered. bigger, better, faster. FireBlade.
  5. I used to love riding up and down stairways. Uber-fun.
  6. A bit too much frost and ice in my neighborhood today and yesterday for me. A couple of weeks back I ripped sideways ~90 degrees on my first corner turn. (Darn near turned 180 degrees from the direction I started out.) Nothing wrong with my balance, I guess. Gotta watch those first corners, cold wet new tires and all. Gets the heart pumping faster in the early morning dew...
  7. Honestly, I looked and sat fz1 when buying the first 919. Fz1 a bit tall for my comfort. I'd like to try a z1000s. I have great respect for Kaw liter bikes.
  8. Must be full of recycled land fill...
  9. Cooper used to give bulk/fleet discount. Don't know if they still do. But any tire place should negotiate for a big sale. Otherwise keep on trying till one is found. Use the phone, it's cheaper/quicker. I just bought another Jeep. beep beep
  10. I used to eat at the IHOP on OSU campus every Saturday and/or Sunday morning. Too bad it's gone. Next best thing around here is Tee Jaye's Country Place. Make a big reservation, and we'll take IHOP over for a few hours. What the heck, there used to be Denny's all over town. All gone...
  11. There's tons of coyotes inside city limits (any city). Plenty of food, and we're not allowed to shoot at them. Same reason there are tons of raccoons in cities too.
  12. Neighbor who stays up late said they walk right down the middle of the street late at night. I got up one night when a motion alarm went off, and after waiting a bit outside, saw a coyote stalk a young raccoon from my backyard, down the driveway, to a tree across the street. The coyote just about vanished from sight when it crossed the road. A dirty gray blended in with the roadway. And yes, when it left, it walked right down the middle of the street. Not sure how bright they are, the raccoon saw me, but the coyote either did not, or was ignoring me. They were only a few feet away when they went past me. Silly raccoon stopped and looked like he wanted to ask for help. It probably wanted the tree on the other side of me, but couldn't decide, so ran across the road. I saw a pair of big ones in a suburb North of Chicago. Huge. A bit bigger than the one in the video. The one in my yard was a tiny thing. edit: oh, and in my area, more dogs and cats have been killed by hawks than anything else. Dive bombers with feathers. Coyotes have no predators to cut down their population. That used to be humans (or wolves or mountain lions), but not anymore. We're kinda more like big sheep to them. So expect coyotes to be dominant or equal to humans in the future, in the food chain. Until the relationship changes.
  13. In my younger days... I'd patch or replace the tube, and that's all. heh.
  14. Air brake? The old method was to sit up tall to air brake. (Which can knock a rider off the bike at high speeds, if not knowing what will happen.) No idea if anyone still does that.
  15. Me too, but I couldn't spell piss...
  16. Anyone that has ever had a flat tire on a bike, front or rear, and fought with the bike to keep from crashing and/or dying, will probably not use a patch on a tire. The pucker factor is rather high.
  17. Me neither. And I've started a little collection of new tires with holes in them. Somebody should have a burn out contest.
  18. The better plugs are at NAPA and such, same as the ones the mechanics use. The ones from AutoZone usually fail on me in a year or so, and start leaking. If the first one went all the way in, either the hole was a bit too big, or the plug was a bit too small. Maybe. Just check it often to see if it changes. Tires should be checked often anyway...
  19. sorry... http://www.snopes.com/military/lighthouse.asp I never get tired of the joke though. The video is great.
  20. Not sure I could handle sitting down so low. I think I'd freak out.
  21. I'll be watching. Thanks for the warning. It looks like the shows will air three to six times a week. So there are backup chances to catch one that is missed. And the Sunday show looks like it will play twice back to back. So I guess I'll watch it twice. The Walking Dead schedule of shows The Walking Dead - Days Gone By Oct 31 10PM, Oct 31 11:30PM, Nov 1 1AM, Nov 5 10PM, Nov 6 2AM, Nov 7 2AM The Walking Dead - Guts Nov 7 10PM, Nov 7 11PM, Nov 8 1AM, Nov 12 10PM, Nov 13 1AM, Nov 14 2:30AM The Walking Dead - Tell It to the Frogs Nov 14 10PM, Nov 14 11PM, Nov 15 1AM This might be the type of show that scifi channel picks up later and reruns it forever.
  22. ghost riders? edit: I don't see anything in the local news. The only thing that makes sense is that maybe they saw something off the road and stopped to check it.
  23. I don't see this previously posted, so here goes... Dan Gurney designed Alligator A6, the ultimate flying couch. About 70hp and 310 pounds. If you were 90 years old, would you be riding this? edit: Yeah, it's a 2002 design. New to me, never seen it before.
  24. Speaking of hurricanes down South... a story I remember from friends in hurricane Andrew in the Miami area. The National Guard was out patrolling in armored vehicles, with weapons, and no ammo. An armed street gang figured that out, intercepted and tried to take an armored vehicle and weapons away from them. But the street gang was being followed by a group of armed citizens, and were ambushed during the ambush and arrested. You never know...
