Easily feasible, but the key is what they said. BioFuel, a cheap source of fuel. If it might run on alcohol, they just might be successful. But it might have to be a gas, which means a whole new industry of bio gases would result.
  3. I found a house brand at mountguys. To fit a cheap refurbished TomTom One 130. I couldn't rationalize spending more for a mount than what I paid for the GPS. There is one cheaper, for 14.88, but I got the one for 19.88. I see now that there is another kit that includes a hardwired power supply for a bit more. That was something I didn't consider at the time. edit: I still like to use my Chinese Asus GPS that transmits instructions on FM from my pocket to my radio and ear buds.
  4. we love our zoo, we don't care who payed for it. edit: errr... wait... whoever paid for it, Thank You.
  5. yeah, I'm living in the past. There's a few bias ply race tires for cars. But I don't see them on the street. I have been in cars with the radial/bias tire combo done wrong, and the stupid car will jump all over the road. It's generally obvious, but people including mechanics seldom figure it out quickly.
  6. apparently it's a lawyer thing... look at this article, but it still doesn't prove much either way.. Are new tires best in front or back? my wild guess/opinion: The standard practice is to never put a radial on front, with bias ply on the rear. A radial mixed with bias must always go on the back wheels. Therefore, perhaps tire shops can't identify types of tires, and cover their ass by putting all radial tires on the rear to be safer. Theoretically, if you tried to buy bias ply tires, they would insist on putting them on the front.
  7. I'm totally confused also... I thought standard practice for front wheel drive vehicles was to buy two, put them on the front drive wheels, and put the best two of the other four tires, on the rear... dunno... (and generally it's the original rear tires, since they don't wear out back there on front wheel drive vehicles.)
  8. I heard John Deere store in Westerville got some, dunno... They probably meant on Westerville Rd at Easton. 522E Single Stage 726E Compact 827E Dual Stage 928E Dual Stage 1130SE Dual Stage 1332PE Professional View Product Brochure (English) You'll probably come home with a Gator with a snow blade on it, heh...
  9. Today I watched a girl in the cafeteria try to pick up a soft drink by the straw. The Men in Black know to watch for these things... aliens in our midst...
  10. you know... with what looks like a permanent bend to the right, on that tail sticking up like a spoiler... I suspect the bike would lean to the left at high speeds. That would be annoying. Fortunately, it's probably limited to 60mph by it's incredible vibration at speeds higher than that.
  11. Yota the truth speaking he is... Received CSCC email at 6:35am that canceled all classes and closed all offices for the entire day, Tuesday, Feb 16. 2010.
  12. we lost the "who's on line" thingy too... I is sad...
  13. Same here. I'm usually in at 6-6:30. No announcements are ever made before I leave the house. We were notified by email at 6:35am that we'd be closed for the entire day. So I left... Some roads, even major roads, have not been cleared at all. This is a 4wd day, everyone else needs to be very careful.
  14. You can block stuff, just set EVERYTHING to friends and friends of friends, and call it done.
  15. I've noticed that. 4wd is great for traction, but does nothing for stopping, durrr... edit: and I like spinach... durrr... edit deux; ok, watching evening news. Vehicles that wrecked because they could not stop --> SUVs!!! whodathunk...
  16. I just drove home. Whiteout conditions, can't see the roadway. If you don't already know where the roadway is, you're destined to run off the road or hit something. People are behaving well though. It's slippery even for a 4wd Jeep. Got some grip, but was sliding a bit more than I expected. Don't expect turns to go as planned, heh...
  17. I'll tell you what, traffic was slow but moving. But no one can see the roadway, it's a total whiteout. If you don't know where the road is, you're destined to run something over.
  18. CSCC closed for Monday night classes, effective @ 5pm
  19. yeah, what he said. I've got a reverse mount that lets a 50mm mount up backwards to do macro. It works. Better is a set of 0, 1, and 2 diopter close up lenses of good quality, that screw into the filter thread on a 50mm lenses. And if you want depth of field, build yourself an LED ring light.

  21. welp, Canada got Men's Freestyle Skiing? we will see... yes, France failed to take it away... le tsk...
  22. I like Bell helmets. Multiple reasons. They used to be THE motorcycle helmet. They also used to be an American helmet company, and moved overseas, and moved back? I think? Plus most of the military pilot's helmet contracts are done by Bell, at least back when they were in the USA.
  23. Yeah, they just skip it... Columbus got in trouble the last week, because they never got to the side streets before the second snow storm. They skip a lot of streets anymore. Your tax dollars not at work...
