  1. you forgot SaraRides... busa hauty was ok, exaggerated a bit Kay from today thread got what she wanted (pregnant and joined the Army) and that red riding whatever... you don't even want to know. stay away.
  2. why oh why did I just look at that...
  3. Generic store brands come from the same places that all other food is produced. Say it's a canning factory canning green beans that day. At the end of the day of canning for a major name brand, they simply continue with new labels/cans for the little guys. In one way it's leftovers, in another way it's the identical merchandise at a lower price.
  4. As close to experiencing a "mad minute" as ever a civilian can get... yes, there's a second one each year in October. There are others around the country, but Kentucky is closest. It says there is camping there, but first come first serve.
  5. I'm sure this has been posted before. But someday I'll get down there on a Saturday in April. Crank the sound up. http://www.knobcreekrange.com/events/featured-events/machine-gun-shoot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31vm3-BQRJU
  6. Not normally using this particular source, but it seems news worthy. I'll go with it since there was already distinct and unusual movement away from the Persian Gulf to "somewhere else": "The USS Eisenhower Strike Group reached the Syrian coast Tuesday, Dec. 4 in a heavy storm after sailing through the Suez Canal from the Persian Gulf. Aboard are 8 fighter bomber squadrons of Air Wing Seven and 8,000 sailors, airmen and Marines. Together with the USS Iwo Jima, the US has now posted opposite Syria 70 fighter-bombers, 17 warships including three amphibious craft, a guided missile cruiser, 10 destroyers and frigates, and 10,000 American fighting men. Four vessels also carry Aegis anti-missile weapons." A Russian carrier group is supposedly also on the way. The actual point is; protecting Turkey, a NATO country, from any possible attack of any type. If truly serious, expect French, British, and a few other NATO vessels to join in. It's bad stormy weather over there right now. Which means many things in combat and capabilities. Wait and see. Next move is Assad's. Actual targets were announced as being those military officers in charge. Making it personal. That's C3, command, control and communications.
  7. I can't blame you. I'd go for that one too. Eventually I will. I'd rather have the British green with the fuel injection. But there's nothing wrong with carburetors. And yeah, now leaning toward the scrambler. Especially after finding out all Bonnie engines will use the scrambler engine with it's unique firing order.
  8. In traffic stops the Miranda warning is not required, at least for traffic citations. I've actually said "I'm not answering that". Which pretty much stops that type of questions, and starts a batch to find a lesser problem. If you're lucky. Like a non-moving violation. I'll take that.
  9. Should be printing a .22 cal rimfire. Something that will hold up. That would be impressive.
  10. It will be hard to beat the Savage and/or Remington/Winchester for what you want to do. Price and performance. As said earlier this year, you will be able to make modifications and improvements to the Remington, but the Savage is more limited to performance changes.
  11. An American official “with knowledge of the situation” told Wired Magazine that “engineers working for the Assad regime in Syria have begun combining the two chemical precursors needed to weaponize sarin gas.” USA, Israel, Turkey, and Jordan were ready to go into Syria on Monday night and secure the chemical weapons. edit: Oddly, the pentagon announce that activity by the Syrian engineers is not true. So one or the other is disinformation. Oddly, the Israeli leaks are saying the Sarin gas was mixed, put on transport along with mobile artillery units, and is on it's way North to the city of Aleppo. So pick one. signals are mixed. But there is no doubt a bunch of people are seriously worried.
  12. Nothing was said about religion. It does say tons about a primitive society.
  13. local hardware will do, if they have a metric that size. It might indeed be a frame mount, and not a through nut/washer.
  14. you'll need a replacement for the missing nut/washer. It obviously fell off and is gone?
  15. freekin' engine mount bolt... isn't it?
  16. okay... intense analysis of freeze dried food, looking for ~2000 calories per day and under one pound per day. ~4 required each day. Actual calculation is calories/weight for calories per ounce. I only looked at the top best sellers. I find: Mountain House Breakfast of eggs and bacon or ham (320-350 calories each meal) Mountain House ProPaks of Beef Stroganoff, Lasagna, Chili Mac, or Sweet and Sour Pork w rice. (500-550 calories each meal) These are the most energy per weight edit: ultra light weight freeze dried sugary deserts pack a lot of calories. Like astronaut ice cream. edit2: btw, apparently lots of people know this. Most of these are out of stock everywhere I look.
  17. Quick math on basic chicken and rice, freeze dried entree bags, just add boiling water. 3 per day, ten days = 11.625 pounds. edit: just checked, not enough calories. Need way more. A meal with 300 calories is ok in a shelter sitting on your butt. But not if you're on the move. You need 2000-3000 calories per day. You'd have to eat two or three of them at each meal... I put this on the other thread. I found it last night. A website with a large number of MRE style heaters and freeze dried choices. (OK, mostly freeze dried stuff.) http://www.wildernessdining.com/ edit again: If you carried simple plain white rice. Boil to cook: 205 calories per serving, 185 grams per serving. Per day: 1541 grams/54oz/3.39lb for 2000 calories per day Per day: 2312 grams/81oz/5.06lb for 3000 calories per day between 33.9lb and 50.6lb for ten days! I guess plain rice isn't the best choice... Or add a squirrel or rabbit each day. There are high calorie entrees that add boiling water, that will be under 10 pounds for 10 days for 2000 calories per day. Just pick carefully, the high calorie items. A lot of them are breakfast entrees, probably the extra sugar or grain. one more try: Enertia Trail Foods Moosilauke Goulash 500 calories per entree, 4 oz for 2000 calories, 4 per day, 16oz, one pound per day, 10 pounds for 10 days for 3000 calories, x1.5 which is 15 pounds for 10 days. MREs basically weight 3 times as much, since they already have the water.
  18. It isn't, it is too old now. Forget that one. It used to be at the top of the theft list. Craigslist local, sort by lowest price first. Buy one. wth, I just looked. The sort by price is gone. That sucks. You can put in a range of price though. edit: just looked, there is a ton. Most will need at least the carbs pulled and cleaned. No big deal. http://columbus.craigslist.org/search/mcy?query=&srchType=A&minAsk=400&maxAsk=1500 This looks clean: http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/3366935297.html And this one is interesting: http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/3417946945.html
  19. Interrogation and investigation isn't for "making evidence". It's for working with the evidence that you already have. Without it, you use a grand jury. That's what a grand jury does. Determines if a crime has been committed.
  20. nighthawk 550/650/750, ex500, maybe even a 600 shadow for around town. Nighthawks don't need squat. Just take care of the battery. Forget KZ550, too old
  21. sigh.... Physics 101 the energy or velocities of an impact are the sum of all energies or velocities. example: If hit at 70mph from behind by a vehicle going 80mph, it isn't an 80mph collision, it's a 10mph collision.
  22. The roads were wet this morning. No big deal, but started fishtailing hard in 2nd on one of the launches. So much fun.
  23. I saw some very interesting backpack meals. Self heating type. About 5-10 bucks a pop. Not full kit MREs, just the entrees, most of them. But TONS of variety. I'll get the website when I get home. edit: Here it is. Looks like mostly freeze dried. I'm going to have to check some of these out: http://www.wildernessdining.com/
  24. that is clean. Brings back loads of memories. Those were uber fast for that era. KBB is 1445-2410 for the 1976 KZ900A4 KBB is 1720-3070 for the 1976 KZ900B1
