  1. Freeway is safer, but I'd rather just not ride than spend any time on one. What's the point? It's 100% antithetical to what even drew me to bikes, the riding sucks, the view sucks, it's just fucking mind-numbing.
  2. This looks a lot like a regular Barbie... Clearly you're not seeing the value of that logo, man.
  3. AMA membership with automatic renewal is $39.95 and includes motorcycle & auto roadside assistance. Coupled with the 10% discount from hotels and Bikebandit, it's almost stupid not to sign up. Pays for itself the first time you order some shit, pretty much.
  4. That will look awesome on I70 hauling a chopper to Sturgis.
  5. I automatically wish testicular trauma on anyone who belongs to anything suffixed by the word "boyz". There is no organization on earth called anything "boyz" that isn't filled with grade A dickholes.
  6. This assumes the government gives a fuck. I've bitched about a troublesome light on the way home several times, and it's still fucked up. It seldom trips with my truck, never with the bike.
  7. His dismount sucked. I know, because that's something I can do.
  8. You're about 90 miles to the closest, but I get your point. Still would be a great dual sport if you plated it, for back roads and exploring. The DOT thing isn't an issue in Ohio, we just have a minimum tread depth requirement but it's not illegal to run a non-DOT tire here on the street.

Option 1: A lockable container on the bike, but that's risky because the entire bike can be stolen with the gun on it. Option 2: Don't carry. Option 3: Concealed means concealed. Jobs are easier to get than a new life. Option 4: Get a new job (see number 3).
  10. The DR3fiddy is a great trail bike...why not use it like one? Won't have much nuts as a Sumo but it's a tractor just made for the trails and back roads.
  11. I'm sure his master plan was to wipe himself out, and his bike, in order to wreck some strange rider that day. Good call.
  12. Ride slow, and don't take a twisty corner that close to the inside line. Now, I will admit that takes 100% of the fun out of it, but it is something you could do to avoid lane encroachment (to a degree).
  13. This. Riding slab to PA is a crime, given all the great twisties and scenery along the way.
  14. I carry when I ride....so unless I relish the idea of prison walls and sex with an inmate named "Tiny" I just ride away...no gestures, no punching, no telling anyone off. Anything to the contrary and I'm the aggressor and that's bad for me and bad for the moron involved. Keeps you honest, but I carry because someday it might meet someone who will kill me over a stupid traffic incident, or the stuff in my wallet.
  15. It was a great time this year, the trails were just perfect and some really cool new sections....loved the creekbeds and long, loamy hills.
  16. I do the majority of my touring 2-up on my DL1000. Works great for me, and we generally mix the ride up with light trails, gravel roads, twisties, etc...so I need a bike that can do all that.
  17. Go ride Eastern Pennsylvania a little, you'll come back to Ohio and kiss the asphalt. Oh, and stop riding super-slab. That's motorcycle hell.
  18. Good tires, great road and gravel performance. Not an offroad tire, unless it's dry as hell, but they wear great and are cheap. Running a set right now.
  19. What kind of riding you doing? Looking for a 50/50 tire? 80/20? 90/10? Chapparal has really good prices and the shipping is free if you break $149 on the order. I ran the IRC GP110 on my XRL, gave really good street & gravel performance and light trails were good on them, terrible in the mud tho. They're not expensive, either. For more offroad, I liked the Trakmaster II's.
  20. I'll trade you 5 internets for a carbon credit.
  21. Got drunk, killed himself and someone else. Awesome.
  22. TPS can fail or fall out of adjustment pretty easily, usually the check involves a jumper pin on a DIN connector...and the dash will display whether it's in proper adjustment. Do you have a factory manual for your bike? Good time to get one. Dump your gas, put fresh in, add some Seafoam and let that run through too. Could be a bit of water in the gas, that can make a mess of your idle.
  23. Hoping I can make it, but we'll see.
  24. I say we ban driving. For the kids.
