  1. As if there's anything else to do in Newark. All you had to say was "I'm in Newark" and we would have done the drunk math.
  2. A ton of stuff on your rig is just useless weight. Get it all off there, and your mileage will increase. I suggest a chop saw and a good day's time. It'll feel like your motorcycle in a way. Think of it as a 4-wheel Can-Am that can pull shit.
  3. Hey, I have an idea, let's hand off healthcare to them. It'll go fabulously!!
  4. Had mine for about 10 years now, never been audited. Even if you do, it's painless I've talked to a couple people over the years that did. You can request to do it at the field office instead of your home...basically they'll just look at your bound book. Unless you're selling for profit, you got no worries.
  5. It would be awesome if saying shit like that averted what was coming. Sort of like hoping for change.
  6. Yeah, but youtube videos are always true.
  7. I had a really mean, bitter, wheelchair bound teacher in 7th grade. I got looking at the back of her motorized chair one day while she was ripping into us for being alive, and I noticed a little DIN plug on the back that went to her controls. Every day I had to sharpen pencils and pass stuff out, and doing that behind her I reached down and pulled the plug and reversed it...thinking it would just make the chair not work. Well, I was half right, the chair still worked but her controls worked in reverse. So, as soon as she starts pushing controls left, she goes right. Forward is backward. She smacks into a trash can, then her desk, then a kid's desk before she figures out it's all reversed. The wheelchair company comes and the tech guy can't figure it out so they replaced her whole upper control assembly...and probably reversed the polarity up there to correct it. So, next time she turned into a raging bitch I switched it back. Controls all reversed again. I know I'll burn in hell for that, but I still don't care.
  8. The CEO works for the Stockholders, they determine his worth and pay...as it should be. Worker pay is determined by the market, and ultimately the choices of the CEO/Stockholders. If they pay too much, the company fails and everyone loses. If they pay too little, same thing. So, it appears that CEO's succeeding in guiding companies through the market are paying what the market is bearing or there would be a decrease in the CEO pay. Perhaps if we had a "Pay Czar" to redistribute all this it would work out better, eh Che?
  9. And he looks so normal, so unlike a creepy predator.
  10. I got out and did about 100 miles to test the new clutch basket. Wasn't too bad, the sun was pretty nice. I won't be sad to see this cold shit go away.
  11. I own and ride with purpose built motorcycle pants 90% of the time, but on the occasions where it's not convenient or you don't want to look like a sci-fi stand in, I prefer a normal pair of pants. Carhartts make their dungarees in colors beside pig farmer tan, same with the Firehose pants from Duluth, many cuts and colors there and the abrasian resistence of those I'd put up against most mid-level moto-specific....and some of it has pockets for knee-pads, depending on the style. The Firehose pants also have gusseted crotches which helps greatly on a bike.

    New bike!

Congrats, you'll LOVE the Wee. Super versatile...sign up for Stromtrooper and VSRI if you haven't already. Time to throw lots of $$ at all the kickass aftermarket for it, and hit those back roads!
  13. I refuse to ride in jeans, firstly because I've seen how they fare in a real slide and secondly because there are good options for not much more than a good pair that are vastly better for a bike. The Firehose pants from Duluth trading company are much better for abrasian, same with the cordura-double-front pants from Carhartts. I usually ride with a pair of Draggin Jeans when I really need to compromise, but for any serious riding I have overpants or mesh pants and for comfort they kick any jeans' ass but aren't always the prettiest thing to wear or the most convenient.
  14. They degrade too fast for it to be accurate, generally.

    New Toy

Makes no diff to the state, if it's got a title it's GTG.
  16. That's a pretty fucking straight road to earn its place on "best" motorcycle roads. A lot of cruiser riders must have voted. Is there a bar at either end or something? 26 or 800 are longer, curvier, prettier country, and less traveled. I guess not as many desperate-for-curves Northern Ohio folks knew to vote for 'em tho, which is what that survey was - a popularity contest. If it were a serious look at great roads, honestly, nothing in Ohio would have gotten near the list. Fuck, about every 2-digit state route in WV or NC puts our best to shame. Rt. 152 in New Mexico across the Black Range is 63 miles of relentless twisties and switchbacks cut through beautiful pine mountains and rock formations on a road with no traffic....not one mention. Crappy list, IMHO.
  17. Nice looking XR. I really want one, but my empty wallet says "no".
  18. All the gear, all the time. There's no part of my body that I want to subject to a slide across pavement or a hard impact on terra firma, and there's no magic forcefield that can stop that from happening if the right chain of events occur.
  19. I've got a DID tool if you wanna borrow it....flaring pin on it is pretty much indestructible. I'm in Granville but I work in Columbus will be rolling through tomorrow late in the day.
  20. That's really a waste of money...I could have done the "gay" math...it's a fucking VW. No shit you're gay.
  21. I can get 50 if I don't have weight on it and cruise with a moderate throttle hand. Once I did the PCIII, it it took a decent hit but it runs WAAAAY smoother in the middle rpm's where before it was too lean. I get around 40mpg average now.
  22. Riding to a shitty city on straight roads blows, no matter how good the sammich is when you get there. Just sayin....so....with that, here's some places where riding there is as fun as the meal: Las Trancas is a REALLY good Mexican place in Marietta. 555/676/26, etc. Lock 27/Warehouse in Coshocton is always a fun place to sit in the summer after a ride out 541. Uncorked across the street is good too. The Farmstead restaurant in Berlin is a great Amish joint, great prices and good food - it's where the locals eat. Beautiful riding there. The Buckeye Deli in Nashville is a cool little sandwich shop, 60 from there down to Zanesville is a great ride. In Zanesville, Tlaquepaque on SR60 is the bomb for Mexican - the Fajita Chimichanga is diabolical genius, and great riding in that area too, 666 and 555 make for fun. The Depot in Dresden is a good BBQ spot, great in the summer on the patio, awesome back roads around that area too....and good dual sporting. I could go on, but someone mentioned a restaurant in Toledo so I'm kind of disgusted. hehe.
