  1. Saw him at the Muskie bucket when Nivin planned a ride and didn't show up. He is still riding that same bike.
  2. That wasn't our Ireland Auto Wrecking Ride?
  3. Friday ride leaves a 9:30, is 130 miles in length and there is a lunch along the way. They should be able to be back to the start point after a gas stop with a half hour to spare before lunch. Put me down in the no partake column.
  4. Riding it to work would be difficult. The bad: 1 The gearing would have to be changed to keep up with traffic. 2 Need to take your foot off of the peg to change gears, which would have to happen often. 3 The tires are magic off pavement and like riding on marbles on pavement. 4 The range of the gas tank is about the size of a push lawnmower. The good: 1 Everything would be an obstacle that needs to be ran over. Filtering would mean driving OVER traffic instead of between it.
  5. I get what you're saying about feeling at home in a particular place by something indescribable. I hang out a Kennedy's Sport Cycles on Saturdays when I don't have anything going on and I get the same sensation there you are describing.
  6. Correct, he should be driving home with it as we type. Prepare to be dazzled by his new found skills.
  7. Pleasure doing business with you. Be safe and have fun enjoying your new to you bike.
  8. There was something written up about it on here somewhere in the past. Coming out of the woods down hill there was a couple just starting to walk across the bridge that distracted and took a second off of the decision process. No one knew which direction the road went and the split second decision was made to go right into the parking lot instead of following the road left. A bumpy airborne ride followed by heavy braking with all of us inches from each other when we finally came to a stop in a parking lot. I found the location on maps hopefully it imbeds. https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!4v1515538675829!6m8!1m7!1s2c89HlymAz4yeVgwI0DB8Q!2m2!1d34.74041266436413!2d-83.97658099425935!3f100.95027306202172!4f-3.9873553315038066!5f0.7820865974627469
  9. Please tell me about your special power that allows you to plan around bugs while hiking. That was as close as you can come to wrecking without doing so. I'll never forget it, Wolf Pen Gap Road heading east out of Suches, GA.
  10. Who wants a bunch of bugs flying into their eyes? I think it's safer on a motorcycle.
  11. First time I rode to the gap was in 2005 for the Busa Bash. I forget what happened that got me there at this time but I ended up riding the gap sometime after midnight on my way to Phillips Motel in Robbinsville which was the host hotel for the gathering. There was a bear on the right side of the road rummaging around that I spooked so he took off running across the road and splated himself right against the rock bank like something out of a cartoon. Now he feels trapped so he darts back across the road right in front of me, I didn't miss hitting him by more than a foot.
  12. I have the wrong bike for a TT run at the gap. Cherohala would be scary fast, let's do that.
  13. The only time I got a ticket down there was when there was the landslide and it was a dead end road for the summer. Strange how it happens to work out that way.
  14. I can't begin to explain how sad this makes me. Instantly liked him from the first time I met him and every time after that he solidified that first impression.
  15. Good, I need a bidding war so I can gets more farkle monies
  16. If I would have been content with a quickshifter I probably would have bought a Kawasaki Versys 1000 LT and added the product you posted or something similar to it. That bike is thousands cheaper and already has the side cases which I will eventually be buying for the new bike. Okay, really I wanted the extra 40 Hp / 50 lb weight loss of the new bike over the Versys plus the better brakes and was actually using the autoblipper as the excuse to justify the more expensive purchase.
  17. Can't put one on the RR because it's not a ride by wire bike. I still need something fast enough to cover the 120 miles of flat boring roads that I have to ride getting to a curve so I won't kill the bike running wide open.
  18. I am here for the quickshifter/autoblipper. This bike is going to allow me to keep riding because I'm pretty much done otherwise. My left hand just can't pull a clutch all day.
  19. Shhh, I have to justify it's existence. No one needs another sport bike when you get old. Right?
  20. This might be happening now and even with a ride down instead of trailering. Gotta try out the new bike/learn how to ride it somewhere and what a great place to get familiar with it. I know, I know take it easy, work up to it, have emergency funds which are hard to come by after buying a new bike. Maybe I should ride alone? This is so hard to think about maybe it won't be that fun with all of this pre ride pressure.
  21. That's the sales tactic I intend to take. I'm just an old gray bearded guy that just rides on the weekends. Don't be a sucka
  22. We have a winner. It's time to slow down on an old mans bike.
