  1. I'm with Kent. Prior to seeing anything about them here I had never heard of the WTC and don't care enough to find out anything about them. I have heard of the Cure but couldn't tell you anything about them or any of their songs. I also have never heard of the Smiths but somehow have heard the name Morrissey, don't remember anything I've heard about him but that name has been mentioned around me sometime. I do know the bikes in the models though and I have pictures of a Buell in my phone.
  2. I have only rode with OH and CORE so I always assume that's how everyone else does it. It was odd for me to see others that I've rode with adjust to a different type of group ride. I loved the route and would like to get on the two new to me roads again and I can't wait to show them to new people, Thanks. I would ride with you any time and honestly think you are capable of riding the same pace I ride with one exception and that is corner exit drive. That could be you just keeping the pace down to a mild roar. Another observation is more of a mindset thing since you have mentioned it more that once, in my opinion you don't need a sportbike or track tires to ride a fun pace on the street. I ride an "adventure" bike that has sport touring tires with enough pace to keep it fun. I run almost the exact same pace regardless of the bike I am riding once used to the bike. I rode sportbikes for years and we all really under utilize them on the street.

I expect that this will not have the H2 motor but will most likely have the de-tuned H2 SX motor. Not really a bad thing.
  4. Kinda serious about the subject though. I recently did some group riding and wasn't sure how to react to a situation. It gave me the thought that I might have been acting inappropriately when I rode in groups. This wasn't my ride and I didn't know the entire route but I knew sections of the route. The ride leader stated that if anyone wanted to go faster just go out ahead before the ride started. I have ridden with everyone in the group prior to this except the lead rider so I have a pretty good idea about the pace everyone could ride. Once I figured out the lead riders pace and safety margin he was riding in I passed him on a familiar road. I was certain everyone would follow but that's not what happened. I ended up stopping and letting the group pass, we talked about my pass at the next fuel stop. The leader relayed to me that he didn't want to separate from the group so he didn't follow when I picked up the pace. We rode the remainder of the day in formation with everyone in a nice tight conga line at the pace dictated by the lead rider. Have I been pissing people of by ramping up to an uncomfortable pace in groups? The others guys were all capable of a faster pace because I've seen them all ride faster so I'm guessing that they liked the more regimented controlled environment. Do not read this as a knock on the ride leader, I respect him and his riding ability, he could have rode faster. He was the only person that I can remember calling me out on my bullshit and I appreciate it. Now I'm looking for some real feedback into how groups should behave. I've always been of the mindset that the faster guys ride their ride and they guys behind them get pulled along. They see what is capable and it gives them some freedom to push that small degree harder since they can see that the bike can handle the quicker pace. Like they learn from seeing someone ride slightly faster than them, I know that helped me in the past.
  5. Yea, midget speak up. I want a cheap AR pistol.
  6. This isn't about me. It's a well established fact that I can't be trusted to act appropriately, it's not that I don't want to act right it's just that I don't understand the difference between the two.
  7. I'm trying to help with keeping the thread diverted into multiple subjects as they should be. Feel free to lay out how a group ride should go though in case others want to understand how things will work if they join in.
  8. When riding in a group ride environment is it necessary for the whole group to stay together in a tight group or is it okay for the lead riders to go on ahead and wait for the group to catch up at any turn off or road change?
  9. Stop sale on 400 scooters and 310 GS/R
  10. This new job must have a liberal vacation policy, lucky you.
  11. Now that Ducati has finally come around to the proper number of cylinders for a motorcycle they are worth a look. That Streetfighter V4 looks amazing, I hope it makes it here without too much detuning.
  12. Older than me too. Great idea to plan a nice 60th ride though, have fun.
  13. I wouldn't have the balls to ride something like that.

  15. I think it's disgusting that all of you guys have those licenses to carry handguns. Ohio never should have issued them and I can't wait until they take them away.
  16. All you little dick fuckheads shouldn't be carrying guns anyway they aren't safe, think of the children. What are you compensating for anyway, bunch of sissies.
  17. This sounds like something I would be interested in but I have an appointment to have the 12K service done on the bike Saturday. Need to have it done because the following weekend I have a three day 1K mile trip planned to visit family in Virginia. Too bad since I might fit in with the Bavarian crowd. Speed safely
  18. We took the long way there so we didn't get there until noon. Everyone was gone for the most part, the tables were set up in the back but I only recall seeing three yellow bikes parked out front. Had a good time riding anyway and ended up about 10 miles shy of 500 miles for the day.
  19. I miss the old days of the larger group rides. Back then I had a lot more free weekends to ride so if the pace dictated that it needed to be slower because of who showed up it wasn't that big of an issue since another ride would be happening very soon that could possibly make up for the more sedate group pace. I do have some guilt about using this group to learn a lot of the great roads and not reciprocating so new people can learn them all but I just don't have that luxury of spare time anymore. I have spent plenty of rides helping people get more comfortable at pace or riding sweep to keep an eye on someone struggling. I am now mostly riding with people that ride the same pace that I do. Most of us have been riding a long time so crashes aren't common or expected even though we all know that they can happen at any time.
  20. Prior to riding with TurnOne or Pauly the vast majority of Ducati riders were either slow or whiny little bitches, very often both. Thanks to the excellent representatives that Chris and Pauly turned out to be I have been forced to not dread seeing a Ducati show up to a ride.
  21. Planning to get into Marietta about 11:00AM Saturday morning. Baymont Inn & Suites is the name for the hotel in all of the online sites but my mapping program is only showing Baymont by Wyndham Marietta. Not wanting to assume our way into a mistake which is the correct meeting place and address?
  22. With enough speed you can turn a scenic route into a fun curvy road with the extra added benefit of plenty of danger. 555 ranks for me in a listing of favorite roads but I know I'm in the minority there. I like the little bit of thrill you get from the blind rises. I will go out of my way to avoid Skyline Drive the rest of my life on a motorcycle.
  23. Damn you guys suck. Rubbing this shit in my face.
