  1. RSVrdr was at the GAP when Larry the Cable Guy showed up a few years ago to film the TV segments. Maybe RSV will tell us what he was like to meet....
  2. We just came up 250 from Snowshoe area yesterday. 250 was okay from the south up to Hundred, but it was really a mess between Hundred and Cameron. Also, the phillipi covered bridge is closed for construction, so just take the "business 250" route around it. not a big deal, it just goes over the concrete bridge about 1/2 mile away.
  3. I've got a bunch of Givi keys from when I re-keyed the locks on my monokey cases a few years ago. What key/lock # do you need ? I'll see if I have an extra one. If you would prefer, send me a PM with the #
  4. Rt 33 is a great ride. We did it twice over memorial day weekend, down to and back from Harrisonburg. Hope to get down there again before the end of the riding season.
  5. Looks like a different model. I'd still check there since their prices are usually pretty good.
  6. Try Powersport 360 in Huron, OH. They show a new 2014 Vulcan for $11,999 (MSRP was $18,299). http://www.powersports360.com/new_vehicle_list.asp?Manufacturer=3&Category=1&CatDesc=Motorcycles I bought my Vstrom from them in 2012. They had the best prices on stroms back then also.
  7. AC, I'm heading south towards Marietta tomorrow, probably on Rt 60 or 83. I'll be on a red Vstrom with Givi cases. Will keep an eye out for you.
  8. How tall is he? That low model is designed for shorter riders. Has the prospective buyer sat on this thing or ridden it yet? I wouldn't buy a bike I couldn't at least sit on and check out leg comfort, etc. BTW, that lighthouse pic was taken about a mile from my house.....
  9. Wear Compression shorts or something similar. Definitely avoid cotton underwear. +1 on the spot tracker. I've carried one for past 4. Never had to use it, but nice to know its there. ( I use the tracking feature every ride.) If you can't borrow one, Pauly's advice about texting someone your location occasionally is a great idea. Otherwise, stay hydrated, and stop every few hours to stretch off the bike. On routes, 33 from Elkins to Harrisonburg is a blast. I was just on it Memorial Day weekend. Enjoy the ride.
  10. I was on 775 (southbound) just a few weeks ago. It was in good condition. Great road !
  11. I was riding near Jackson this afternoon and saw the ambulance and a state trooper rolling with light and sirens on. Was wondering if it was bike-related. Glad your okay.

Just wanted to thank Paul for getting the new Tourances mounted on my V-Strom this morning. The 70 mile ride to his place was a little "brisk" when I left home at 7:30 am (45 degrees). See you at the Gap in a few weeks.
  14. He may be referring to Rt 16 in Virginia.... between Tazwell and Marion. Another great ride.
  15. Will do. Between working too much OT and the lousy weather, I've only been able to get out a few times so far this year. Hopefully that will be corrected come April.
  16. There's a $5.00 late fee for not applying for a new title within 30 days of the "assignment" of the title (the date the previous owner's signature was notarized). Not a big deal, but its there.
  17. If you're over near Bellville, check out Buckeye Express Diner on 97 near I-71. http://buckeyeexpressdiner.com/
  18. Pretty sure you guys were gassing up in Danville when we came west on 62 and headed north on 514 around 2:30 or so. The yellow cruiser caught my eye when we turned north. We had followed the 2 Harley softails for a few miles on 62 before Danville. Took 514 up to 520, then east back to Killbuck. Saw a wrecker picking up pieces of a sport bike that crashed a few miles east of 514. Hope it wasn't anyone here. I wanted to take the V-strom today but Mrs. Wahoo out voted me so we took the Wing instead. Women..... Regardless what bike we were on, it was agreat day for a ride
