  1. Good to see IP and Tim today. I looked for Dan but didn't see him.
  2. Dunhams is running a similar deal on Remington 9mm (115 gr and 124 gr). Sale price is $9.99 per box, and there is a $5.00 rebate per box (up to 40 boxes). My son and I each bought 40 boxes last night. Rebate forms mailed today. After the rebate (and including sales tax) , it works out to roughly 11 cents per round. We did get a lot of strange looks wheeling a shopping cart around the store last night with 4,000 rounds of ammo. :-)

    Fall Gap Trip 2016

Wheelers in Robbinsville probably has a replacement.

    Fall Gap Trip 2016

Tonik, if you're taking 83 south out of Millersburg, check to make sure the road construction / closure just south of 93 isn't still there. We were on our way to the Muskie Bucket on 83 this past Tuesday and had to detour down 93 because 83 was closed.
  5. We did a 13 day, 4,000 mile, 9 state trip to Badlands and Black Hills area last week of June / first week of July this summer. Stayed in Deadwood for 6 nights and did day trips from there. 2 couples on 2 touring bikes. Did Needles Highway (twice), Iron Mountain Road (3x), Spearfish Canyon (twice), Nemo Road, Vanocker Canyon Road, and Custer Wildlife loop were great. Sturgis was preparing for an AMA motocross race July 4th weekend (through the middle of town), but it was fairly quiet. We also Clipped the corner of Montana on the way to Devils Tower. Came back through Nebraska. Aside from Scottsbluff, what a boring state to ride across......
  6. We've been up that way each of the past 4 summers (once in a car and three times on the m/c). If you already know what follows, please feel free to disregard. The ferry from Port Kent NY to Burlington VT is approximately a 1 hour boat trip. Drops you right in the middle of Burlington downtown. We've done it past 2 years. Nice way to relax and cool off after riding up through the "Lakes". (Saranc Lake, Tupper lake and Lake Placid). At the Olympic ski jumping venue you can take the ski lift to the top and ride big inner tubes down the hill. Speeds hit 50 mph or so. (I passed on the opportunity). In NH, Routes 302, 112 (the Kanc), 2 and 16 are good routes. If you get to Franconia area, check out the Franconia Notch Gorge state park. Even if you don't get too far into Maine, take a look at Rt 1A which runs from Hampton Beach NH up the coast thru Rye Harbor to Portsmouth. Very scenic and gives you a little taste of the coast. Mt Washington has a web site to check conditions at the summit (temps, wind speed & visibility). The area near Lake Winnipesaukee is nice and scenic. Laconia and Wolfesboro are popular towns near the lake. Depending where you cross Champlain, there are several good options to cross VT from west to east. Rt 2 runs parallel with the interstate and after leaving Montpelier pick up 302 to 112 into Lincoln and the Kanc Rt 4 out of Rutland will take you up over Killington Peak and through Woodstock VT. To the south Rt 9 is a nice ride across the southern portion of the state. Rt 7 runs north to south on the western side of the state. We just returned from a 13 day trip to SD, WY and MT, otherwise I'd be interested to join you. NE is always a great area to ride. Stay safe, and enjoy the ride !
  7. Try Bores Cycle Salvage & Service in Huron, Ohio. They might have one. (419) 433-0332. Located at the old airport on Boos Road, along Rt 2 just west of Huron.
  8. They repaved 205 between Jelloway and Danville, but it's now done. Monday, 514 between Danville and Nashville was partially freshly paved (northern portion), but the bottom portion was either ground down for pre-paving, or it's been tar and chipped. Either way, the portion of 514 which is south of 520 (closer to Danville) was not in good shape.
  9. Good luck getting a multi-hour test ride.... I think you're going to need to rent one for the day.
  10. Found a photo of the bag on the bike.
  11. I have a Givi tank bag with ring lock for my VStrom and it's great. Picked it up used from a guy in Lima who sold his strom. Bag has lots of room, two side pockets and a rain cover. Ring lock system is easy on and off, and seems very secure. I'm not sure of the model number. I give it 2 thumbs up.
  12. I recently upgraded the return springs in my LCP from stock 9# to 13#. Much better now.
  13. Earl Warren was a perfect example of a perceived conservative nominee who, as chief justice, was about as liberal as they come.... Former republican governor of California, appointed as Chief Justice by Eisenhower as a conservative who could appeal to the moderate liberals. After taking the bench, he became the champion of every liberal cause which came before the court. So much for party "tags" or labels.
  14. LAX Ammo.com has Winchester (white box) .380 FMJ 95 grain (500 rounds) for $130 plus $15.95 for UPS ground shipping. Same thing on Lucky Gunner or Bulk Ammo sells for about $209 plus shipping. I ordered 500 rounds at Christmas and another 500 a few minutes ago....
  15. The 9 mm Shield is an excellent choice for concealed carry. I picked mine up at Fin, Feather & Fur last January for $379 but they've had them on sale as low as $349 in November. Also, you can find some good prices on 9mm ammo at Luckygunner.com or bulkammo.com. Both sites ship out of Knoxville, TN. Whatever you decide upon, just make sure you practice, practice, and practice....
  16. I picked up two 7+1 mags for the LCP at Fin Feather & Fur, but they probably would have been a few bucks cheaper on-line.
  17. I carry my LCP almost every day. Alternative carry is my M&P Shield 9mm. Buy a couple of 7 shot mags for the LCP and it's much easier to hold onto than the 6 shot it comes with from factory. Like Cuz said, the LCP is great to carry. Front pants pocket in a pocket holster and also fits in my MC jacket pocket nicely. Also have OWB holsters for both. The Shield shoots a lot better but the LCP is much easier to conceal. Fin Feather & Fur always has the best prices on both. +1 on the Hogue pinned grip. Greatly improves handling.
  18. Pretty sure that's a fairly rare gun. If it's in good condition, value could be $400 or higher. Take good care of it !
  19. I should have checked the board before I went out today. Ended up in Mohican, Danville, Glenmont area. Safe journeys to all...
  20. RSVrdr was at the GAP when Larry the Cable Guy showed up a few years ago to film the TV segments. Maybe RSV will tell us what he was like to meet....
  21. We just came up 250 from Snowshoe area yesterday. 250 was okay from the south up to Hundred, but it was really a mess between Hundred and Cameron. Also, the phillipi covered bridge is closed for construction, so just take the "business 250" route around it. not a big deal, it just goes over the concrete bridge about 1/2 mile away.
  22. I've got a bunch of Givi keys from when I re-keyed the locks on my monokey cases a few years ago. What key/lock # do you need ? I'll see if I have an extra one. If you would prefer, send me a PM with the #
  23. Rt 33 is a great ride. We did it twice over memorial day weekend, down to and back from Harrisonburg. Hope to get down there again before the end of the riding season.
  24. Looks like a different model. I'd still check there since their prices are usually pretty good.
  25. Try Powersport 360 in Huron, OH. They show a new 2014 Vulcan for $11,999 (MSRP was $18,299). http://www.powersports360.com/new_vehicle_list.asp?Manufacturer=3&Category=1&CatDesc=Motorcycles I bought my Vstrom from them in 2012. They had the best prices on stroms back then also.
