  1. Weird how all those autos that aren't made by Michigan unionheads consistently get better reviews and outperform their Detroit counterparts? Consumer wins?
  2. Belmont Party Supply in Dayton apparently did lottery style according to their website
  3. Yeah, there was no problem I noted. Ran just fine, no problems, after it went off I blasted off down the street without a hiccup. I tried to pull up the error list on the bike but either couldn't find it or there was none recorded.
  4. So I got no help on the Ducati forums so I'll toss this one to you all: Went out for an hour joyride Sat and two separate times during low speed riding, once turning around in a parking lot and again going slowly through a neighborhood, my check engine light came on. Both times I'd say I was doing 20-25 in 2nd gear. Was on for about 10 seconds, then went out. Any reason for concern? I know I'm probably just being a bit paranoid, but it's my first Duc! That and IP welcomed me to the brotherhood of roadside mechanics...
  5. Ducati 1199 Panigale R is 364 lbs dry (417 wet), pretty close. Makes 194 hp, 98 ft-lbs
  6. IMO, the problem is pretty straightforward: The people who are willing to toss an extra $1000 or so to bump up from a 600cc to a 750cc are probably willing to toss another $1000 or so to bump up to 1000cc and the people who aren't willing to splurge on the 1000cc are probably not gonna spend the extra cash for a 750cc over the 600cc. It's kinda like looking at Ducati's Monster lineup: Monster 696 - 80hp, $9,295 Monster 796 - 87hp, $10,495 (+$1,200) Monster 1100 - 100hp, 11,995 (+$1,500) If you got around $10k to spend on a bike, why pay the extra $1,200 for just 7 more ponies when for $2,700 you get 20 more ponies, ABS, and traction control? IMO, the 796 just doesn't make any sense. Either save the cash or splurge a bit.
  7. The problem isn't just some of the rules, it's the execution. Too many borderline calls are going the wrong way. The call of helmet hit on a receiver against the Bengals yesterday was absolute garbage. Though, the rule about ANY contact with a QB's helmet is horse shit.
  8. that post is false. they have an fz8 at competition accessories in Springfield
  9. Meh, I said fuck it, it's 49 degrees out and I couldn't take it anymore and took the Monster out for an hour and got home just before this rain started falling in Dayton. Great idea.
  10. Not sure, I've smoked things both with the Smokenator attachment and with just a water pan in the middle. The nice thing is you can really increase the cooking area by cooking on the lower grate as well as the top, particularly if you want lower temps. Cooks really even too since the edges dont hang over the coals.
  11. As far as inline 4's go, 600cc is a boatload of power. Never felt the need for more than what they offered.
  12. Alz, did you see my link for the weber smoker attachment? It's great.
  13. Thai 9 in Dayton has a huge bottle selection, not draft though.
  14. That video would make me want to put spikes on the front of my car and gun it when people do that. Or just get a truck tall enough that people know they're getting run the fuck over.
  15. Anyone ever made pastrami before? I accidentally bought a corned beef brisket a while back when I wanted to make brisket and I've got this thing sitting around needing to be smoked...
  16. You and me both CSC. I've been bored out of my mind this weekend and it's even worse knowing I've got a new bike sitting in the garage and all I wanna do is get out there and ride!
  17. I also had my brother hit by a car when he was like 12. Wasnt at a corner or crosswalk and he got cited. Dude called asking my mom to pay for damage to his side mirror, she blew up on him on the phone. Never called back. Judge threw out the ticket.
  18. Might as well just change it for that kind of money!
  19. I can't imagine going state line to state line on the R6, let alone across the country.
  20. What are you paying for these oil tests?
  21. That's what I was thinking. Just wanted to get some second opinions on it. It's nice and clear/red in the sight glass as it stands now.
  22. Yeah, that's what I've typically done on the R6. 3k or end of year, but the Duc only has like 800 miles on the oil that's in there right now, so it kind of seems like a waste.
  23. Do you guys usually change oil yearly or at a particular mileage? The new Duc had it's 600 mile oil change July '11 and has about 1400mi on it now, debating changing the oil now or waiting til 3000k. Oil's nice red shell advanced full syn through the sight glass.
