Nothing new. It's pretty widespread. Just google your city name and "charitable CEO compensation" for an education. In C-Bus, it's Janet Jackson, Matt Habash in the former politico category and one of the Pizzuti wives in the, well, rich-guy wife category. Are they paid too much? Who knows? If they can schmooze the titans and get big donations, maybe they deserve it. As for the Red Cross, $500k to run that organization is chump change. National organization with huge impact. And there have been situations where funds have been misdirected but I think those folks get shown the door pretty quickly. The irony is that people will donate to a specific event while the base organization is underfunded. People in disaster zones need standard services like blood products, health and human services that are in the standard - and stretched - base budget.

I bought my favorite gloves five years ago over the 'net. Cortech Adrenaline which they have since "upgraded" (i.e., new version at double the price.) I sent the first pair back because they were too small (L). Second pair (XL) was great. I'm not afraid of web buying but if you find something you like, order two. edit: break in should be a couple months, depending on your hands. I have a wide palm so it takes a while for me. I like gloves that feel tight at first and loosen. Overly loose gloves make my hands tired for some reason.

This except I use the ProLube with Graphite. Lube & wipe every 500 and clean w/Motorex every 1,500 or so. 26k on the oem chain as well though the viffer. Probably get a few more out of this one since a VFR800 is probably less hard on a 530 chain than a CBR1k. (Though it still has to move my 230#.)

Really glad you're okay. I wince every time I see one of these threads. So it's a relief that you're good to ride another day. I don't have any advice - I'm pretty much a newb. Besides, I think you've gotten plenty already.
