  1. Doc - Not necessarily what I meant. If you're desperate for a sweep, I could do it but someone would need to send me the job description. It'd be the first time I've done that. Scuba - yes, you will like that seat.
  2. Put me in the slow-mejum group. Group motto: "Fun, Brisk, Sane, Unscratched"
  3. Agree. Meant to say within his $7k budget.
  4. Maybe "For thick-skinned motorcyclists in and around Ohio" ? Whatever. I haven't yet met a ton of people here but hope to on the Epic Ride. I think the irony is that y'all are actually good and generous people. Probably bath regularly with soap and everything. Just don't always come off that way.
  5. You should be able to find an excellent 2006-2009 for $7k. You may have to drive for a bit to get one though - these have developed a following and they tend to be keepers for a lot of people. Present company included.
  6. Okay. Ya spelled it closer to right this time. I also forgot to mention a good place to find VFRs it VFRWorld and VFRD. http://www.vfrworld.com http://www.vfrdiscussion.com Just check the classified sections. I forget if you have to register first or not. Also lots of good info on the type in general.
  7. My first thought on reading this thread. As for me, I am looking for something more comfy than the VFR. I've done a Sargent to make it more comfy for longer rides and that helped a ton. But the new CB1100 has caught my eye and as soon as Honduh stops its Henry Ford schtick of only offering it in one color, I'll probably buy a black one. I'll most likely keep the VFR though since I have friends and family that visit and it'd be cool to have a spare bike to offer them to ride.
  8. I only change it once every three years or 12,000 miles, whichever happens first. Too expensive otherwise. As for the cct fapping, well, whatever it does in there in the privacy of its engine case is okay with me. j/k I don't let the oil go much over 3k. Don't know if the cct is tapping or not - not even sure what to listen for. Not too experienced in that area. Seems to run okay plus wearing earplugs most of the time when riding.
  9. No expert here but after doing (way too much) research I've run T6 in the VFR for 3 years. It's fine. I also use the Purolator Pure One filter.
  10. Not to worry. They'll F-35 it, about one in five of the cameras will work and cost five times budget so they won't be able to afford to deploy them..
  11. Welcome. Das a nice bike!
  12. ... and .01% pigeonhole everyone else. Welcome!
  13. Congrats on the bike. The 650r was going to be my bike until a purdy VFR followed me home.
  14. Yeah, I'm riding back also.
  15. Great report, Jack. Lack of seat time so far this year, the frequent oopsies I'm seeing on the site and my lack of familiarity with that lower portion of 555 has me thinking I'm in for one of easy groups as well. Looking to have a good ride and meet some folks.
  16. So maybe common sense causes global warming - good thing we stamped that out!

    PR3's on CBR

Significantly better than PR2s? I have PR2s on the VFR and all I know is they're tons better than the stock Metzelers.
  18. We obviously need to burn more hydrocarbons to get more greenhouse gasses - gotta get back on track.
  19. Very good people there - have had service done and I buy parts from them. Only problem I have is that sometimes their parts inventory isn't too deep and I end up going on line to get what I need. But even in those cases, I just chat up the sales guys and gawk at bikes. Not a bad way to spend time. When you have a good place like that closeby, it's nice to buy from them to keep 'em going.
  20. I suppose it must've seemed like a good idea at the time.
