  1. Congrats! Yeah, power delivery feels kinda goofy around 4,500 rpm. Like Bad said, ya kind of get used to it. You'll learn to deal with the VTEC too. I've had it kick in while passing someone on a two laner and damn near lifted the front wheel at 90. That may be the worst part of an otherwise fine package.
  2. I'm in. You can add me to the old fart/candyass slow group as well.
  3. Enjoy the ride! I'll be out but further south of y'all.
  4. Another cool video! I really like the dusky shots.
  5. Yessir! Summer's goin' by quick.
  6. I used to ride an old Suzuki GS750e that had that UJM thing going for it. Closest think now would be an FZ8, Z1000 or CB1000R. The NC700X looks interesting but seems like it might be a little underpowered/underbraked/undersprung. I like the VFR just fine for now. I am not a tourer yet and I don't have any real desire to go off-road. But I'll never ride anything where you can't at least stand on the pegs to go over a bump. So, cruisers are out.

    Gary Johnson?

Ran across this guy's name the other day when deciding whether to not vote for president at all or throwing my vote away on a third party candidate. He's the Liberterian candidate for President. Former two term gov of New Mexico, balanced the budget there, favors cutting military, legalizing marijuana, and balanced budgets sooner than a decade from now (like next year) and other reasonable sounding stuff. About all I know so far. Discuss.

Truth. But what's it say about a burger place when their best item is a SALAD?
  9. Thanks. So, 148 is on the list now and maybe 800.
  10. I was thinking of doing a longish ride tomorrow and was wondering what the recent state of the following roads is: 26 260 S of 26 800 S of 70 536 I understand from previous threads that 255 is a disappointment. Thanks! David
  11. I might still try the headliner spray. The auto parts guys sort of steered me away from it because of the distallates in the spray. Later on I thought that, hell, Original Bike Spirits has petroleum distallates in it. So how bad could it be. I'll just try it on a small area next time. Thanks.
  12. So here's the result. I don't like the shape so we'll do a different version that conforms more with the tank. My kid got a little fancy with the exacto knife and wanted to put a VFR logo on it.
  13. Don't need his college transcripts. We have his presidential ones to tell us he's a low performer.
  14. Did try it - looks okay. Will post a pic later. Booger flicking to follow.
  15. Thanks! I think I'll thy the headliner glue idea first. Auto Zone'll have this.
  16. So, I was in Iron Pony a couple weeks back and couldn't bring myself to spring for the StompGrips. $50 for a piece of dimpled plastic. Bought a tank bag instead. I saw some vinyl shelf liner at Lowe's. Figured $7 was better if I have to cut 'em myself anyway. Question is, what adhesive do I use? Need spray on stuff that will stick, take the heat but still peel off easily later on. Any ideas? Thanks
  17. Nice. I like the Coshocton and Holmes county roads. 514 and 520 are fun. I like SE OH a bit better though.

I'll be out there in the Hocking Hillz too.
  19. I know! I'm in Hilliard - west side of C-bus. I usually ride NE & SE, but mostly SE in the Hocking hills. I want to do some of the farther east stuff this year (26, 255, 800, 536, 260, etc.) I usually ride solo since I'm slow and my schedule never seems to line up with the group rides I see. But I'm game for a viffer group ride!
  20. I DO live to have one! An '08 VFR w/ 2500 miles - nice.

    78 suzuki GS750

That is the exact bike I learned to ride on - long ago. GLWS!
  22. Thanks. One to put on the agenda for the summer. I did the 56-356-50-278 loop today. I woulda checked it out if I'd known.
  23. I'm 49 on a '03 VFR. 23,000 miles with about 10k since I bought it.
  24. If you have two bolts then just get rid of the curved, threaded bolt and use the fitting with the holes and the ball mounted to it and bolt that, with some longer bolts you can get at the hardware, to the tank. If you have only one tank mount bolt, you could follow some other options for your bike. I would try some forums specific to your model - i went to VFRD to find my solution.
