  1. I like the Triumph Bonneville - maybe getting one someday for my wife if she decides she's ready to upgrade from the teeny tiny Honda she's got now. With some bags, a windscreen and maybe an upgraded seat, would be a good little tourer. Low seat height (29.4"), light weight (under 500lbs.), looks cool, and the base model can be had for about $7k if you shop it right.
  2. That's the idea! A tad big, though. Maybe 3.5" screen would be right.
  3. Rear view mirrors are ugly. On sportbikes and nakeds especially so. So has anyone ever seen a rear-mounted, rear-facing camera matched to a small (e.g., 4.3" like a GPS) flat panel LCD? Seems like it'd do the trick and eliminate the need for the mirrors. Just getting back into riding so I will confess plainly I don't know what I'm talking about. But -- mirrors just seem kinda old-school.
  4. Ditto. I bought a bike off a Honda R&D guy and this is what he does. And so it's what I do.
  5. Agreed. A good old-style CB would be a lot of fun and customizable.
  6. Those VFRs be nice. I'll have to get me one some day!
  7. 2500 in mostly around town rides and some Hocking/Coshocton stuff. Not bad for the first year back in a loooooooong time. I figured I'd do more since I thought I'd commute some, but never really got comfortable riding into/outta downtown with all the Blackberry folk.
  8. Commander in Chief. (or pick your own words.)
  9. Seems like I've seen it quoted lower than that. Something like $600-$700. Still pricey though. I've also heard that people ignore that if the bike is running right and they have no issues. Sign up on VFRWorld and look through their used bike listings. Tons of good bikes. I bought an '03 very reasonably w/14k on the clock and am having no issues. Good luck.
  10. Sokay. That's where my folks from - home of the original "Floyd"
  11. The CB1000R is nice but the bodywork is a little too Batman for me. Why not the CB1000F? That's supposed to be coming, right? Then mod it from there? (Oops, couldn't copy the pic of the F from my album. It's out there in my album if you wanna see.)

    555

Had no complaints with 78, it was pretty good. 555 was good for a while with some occasional asphalt patching here and there and after it hits 37 at Portersville you'll hit a few patches of gravel, some more patchwork asphalt repairs with tar-edge lines and then some kind of utility project that is putting some mud on the highway. But that's it and it wasn't bad by any stretch. Overall a pretty good ride.
  15. What'd ya think of 'ol Killbuck?

I'm thinking of doing a similar ride Saturday. I'll be coming from west C-bus going south to Circle-tucky and heading 56 west to 278 to Nelsonville and then the route is the same. Good Luck!
  17. Got the Cortech Adrenaline based on this article - http://www.sportrider.com/features/146_0809_riding_gloves_buyers_guide/index.html Like 'em real well but you have to undo three velcro straps per glove. I have no other experience since these are my first.

    Sunday Morning ride?

    Glad to hear you're okay.
  19. Ah, man, sorry to hear it. I've lost four dogs and it hurts like hell. Just remember the good times.
  20. Congrats and welcome to the Honda V4 world. That's a beauty. I always loved the looks of the mid-80's Honda V4 bikes - Sabres and Interceptors especially. Enjoy!
  21. Prayers sent for your pooch and you and family.

Thanks, Man. Though, I tried the After Work Special and was a bit disappointed. In a word - Gravel. But my pace is pretty slow anyway so I just enjoyed the scenery. Finally broke off the route where Ostrander crosses 36 and just called it a day.
  23. Yeah, same here. Glad you're okay, R6.
