I know personally I'm not a fan of FWD SUV's like the pilot enclave etc. They are fwd first then 4wd. If I were you I would look at the sequoia and navigator both are RWD and 4WD. And if you look they can be had for the price range you are thinking about. Mine is an 01 and has like 85700 miles on it and I haven't had any issues yet. I have been thinking about selling mine and I looked up orupcing and it looks like I could still get 15000 for it. I have the limited model which is loaded with everything but navigation (not offered in model year). I really can't complain about it. My other boss has an 07 navigator and its NICE!

Sean I have a sequoia and love it I take it on long trips evereywhere. It seats 8 adults comfortably and the back seats fold up and fully remove. For 08 in their redesign they made them fold flat but since you don't buy new its a non issue. If you are looking at sequoias I would say look for an 06 or 07. With the 05+ I believe you could get second row captain chairs and console. The chairs came out and so did the console should you need the space. The 08 is a huge improvement but it comes at a price my boss has a platinum edition and it was 65 I believe. You had a Navigator why did you sell it if you need a full size which you will with two dogs it just makes more sense.

I like everything but the glass blocks I have never been a fan of those. Overall though looks like a good job. You seem to like doing home remodels and its a hell of a lot cheaper to do it yourself! The house I just bought is remodeled inside already so I'll be working on the outside and making minor changes inside.

You know I used to be like I would never want a car that takes premium as a daily but if you think about it the price difference Isn't that much. Consider a 20 gallon tank and a price difference between 87 and 93 of 20 cents that's only four bucks more per fullup. And let's say you fill up four times a month or once a week that is 16 dollars. Its really not that much more thinking about it and not worth tuning to 87 IMO.

I noticed you said something about remodeling and if you do "need" a truck then get one. But really honestly if you are only in need of a truck a few times a year its far better to rent/borrow one then to buy one to daily drive because they get crappy mileage period. When I drive my truck to/from work I get 14MPG on the highway I can squeeze out 18-19MPG going 70 with the cruise set. Towing I don't really know since I haven't done much with it yet.

I won't use UHaul anymore to move their equipment is always so old and has a million miles on them. Last few time I have used Budget and the equipment has been newer sometimes brand new and cheaper as well. I'm would suggest trying hertz (well penske) and Budget.
