I'll be the antagonist here. I will clean the windows of my car completely however I will never ever clean snow off of the paint of my car. Too much risk of damage to the paint in the process. Rude maybe, healthy paint is more important to me.

As already stated and stated in the ad they are Dronell wheels. Type-5 specifically. I loved those wheels and almost bought a set for our 325. I think juicedh22 had a set on his e46 sedan.

Am I the only one who thinks the stance beetle is cool? Fake patina is meh, car is hot

Depends on your wants and needs. I would have saved the coin and bought a 996TT over the 997TT if it wasn't meant to be my wife's daily driver. I know both sides of this argument very well she won and got the 997 cause the car was "for her".
-
Another option is Auto Assets. I do 90% of my own work but when something on the 997TT or GT3 needs outsourced they go to Auto Assets.

Wheels are Sportec Mono 10's. 19 x 8.5 ET35 235/35/19 Sumitumo rubber. I actually have 5 wheels bought a spare way back in the day. They could stand to be refinished but this was THE wheel to have on a B5 back when I bought the car.

Mine is still driving fine too. It's sitting outside my window at work right now. I guess my quest was since I'm bored for the winter and have all the garage space I want currently I'm trying to figure out if I should take it apart and maximize profits or just sell as-is. 1.8T motor in running condition is worth $800-1000. My car is an AEB engine code and that head is the one to have for higher HP 1.8T based builds. 15's with good snows are probably worth $250. 19" with decent rubber worth $500-600. custom front bumper needs painted but worth maybe $150-200. Tranny is worth a couple hundred. ECU with GIAC chip worth something. After that it's all gravy and then in a few months scrap the rest. Seems attractive but so does just selling as-is I suppose.

I guess that's what I'm really trying to evaluate. I still drive it almost every day.

Is ohiovw forum still around? I swear I looked for it recently and couldn't find it. I'm not on Facebook but could hijack my wife's account.

AudiOn19s has been with me for 13 years and many happy miles. The end of our journey is near. There's enough little things wrong with it that I feel like its a liability to sell it. Had I been thinking this just a couple weeks ago I would have donated it for the tax write-off. Missed that window and too impatient to sit on that for another year. So I'm thinking of parting it out. Looking for feedback from those who have gone down this path before.

Help me spend $30-40k even $45k on a new ride...

Quite possibly the ugliest car on the road -
sadly I'm with clay...my only real hope is this makes the last generation more affordable. It's one of the very few cars produced outside of Germany I'd like to own. Based on their value history I may never get that opportunity.

I'm surprised to hear the CTS-V is soo bad in the snow. We use our E55 on bad weather days and very rarely is the snow a problem for that car which is pretty similar in stats to the -V. Hasn't been the worst winter around here but my wife has driven the E55 every day this winter so far without issue and that's on all season tires not snows. -
Anyone have experience with Engine Ice or Water Wetter, etc.?
AudiOn19s replied to Tripleskate's topic in Passing Lane
FWIW - some modern cars will throw a check engine light if you put a colder thermostat in them. I distinctly remember when trying to do everything to fight high temps with my E46 M3 when I tracked it and I did not do the thermostat because it would cause a CEL. As I understand it now there are tools that you can get around the coding but it's something to consider. Back to the original question, I use water wetter and distilled water in the GT3. Use it primarily as an anti-corrosion component for the cooling system and because if spilled at the track it will clean up easier. GT3 has no temp issues so there was really no benefit to be had there. -

Aaron's suggestion is spot on. Yes the new ones are supercharged S4 hasn't had turbo since B5 Panamera is outside the range but if you have never driven one and are even slightly considering one go for a test drive they are kinda ugly but awesome in every way. I think wagons are cool. A 'V wagon would be pimp As much as love M cars I think in the E9X generation your money is better spent on a 335 -
Most groups will allow 2005 rated helmets through most of 2015 until the snell 2015 helmets hit the market. I think it's like sept /October before you'll see any snell 2015 helmets for sale. Best to check with the group first to be certain. If the question was in regard to SA vs MA most groups will frown on MA rating but will allow it. Again, best to check first For you beginners, you should strongly consider our MOR PCA event 4/25-26. You will get an individually assigned instructor for two days who's duty it is to be in car with you for guidance every time you are in the car as well as classroom instruction. Our program is fantastic for getting beginners off on the right foot. Our 2 day program is $365 and open to anyone PCA member or not. We generally have a half dozen or more loaners at our events

Fresh brake fluid flush, good condition brakes and tires and a good attitude are all you need to get started. I like the Auto Interests guys, but in my opinion it's more structured to the intermediate and advanced track guys who are looking for low cost lapping opportunities and it's fantastic in that regard. Beginners would be better served to look to organizations like BMW club or PCA for their first experience.

Come to PCA event.

I like the look of your wheels to, the question is if you could improve the performance of the car by going to a lighter wheel would it be easier to justify the price tag? Chris (smokey) has a couple fantastic sets of wheels for his car. Both light and attractive. His street wheels are ccw classics but based on your previous posts those are probably not for you as they are a 3 piece mesh wheel. His track wheels are SSR Comp's which are stupid light yet still really attractive. CCW has a line of light and strong monoblock wheels that are all pretty attractive. Their C14 wheel is what I use for the GT3 and would look good in my opinion on the FD. Sorry on mobile right now I'll post pics later

Fort Lauderdale/South Florida. What to do?
AudiOn19s replied to Nickey4271647545519's topic in Dumpster
My wife's family is in the area so we spend a decent amount of time down there. Check out rentals on VRBO or Home Away vs. a hotel if it's not too late to change your arrangements. You'd be surprised how much house or condo you can rent for what you'd pay to stay in a hotel. We usually rent either a house in Lauderdale Lakes or a condo on south beach when we visit. Rocco's Taco's is the real deal...might as well make that mandatory. My favorite Cuban is actually in south beach at a place called Purto Sagua...and for south beach it's really reasonably priced. One of my favorite touristy things to do is drive down A1A to see what there is to see. Her mom is in West Palm and while it takes awhile I usually jump on A1A one day and drive all the way from West Palm down to South Beach. IF you stopped at all of the interesting little places along the way it could be an all day adventure but can also be done in less than 2 hours if you keep moving. I love south beach and even though it may not be your speed it's worth checking out just to say you've done it. Everything from south point park to the Lincoln "mall" and everything interesting along the way. We got married in the Keys (Islamorada) but I agree they were really over rated for us and the drive to get there is long, boring and not as beautiful as you'd think...couple of the bridges are pretty cool though. Like South Beach, if you are traveling in that area and have the time to check out Key West you have to at least go to say you've done it. -
Doesn't an M4 make the same power as a C6 corvette?
-
Awesome car. Congrats!
-
whole rear bumper is wrong. Side skirts are wrong. The ///M cars aren't THAT much different from the regular cars, it's easy to convert to the M-tech kit and make it look like an M6. ....or you could just wrap it in gold and buy a badge I guess.
-
ummmmmmm...it might say M6 on the back, and that's not the most detailed photo in the world but I see some things that make me doubt it's an ///M car
