  2. I didn't want a giant beast of a drill. And definitely wanted Lith ION batteries. I went with a Craftsman Nextec 12v drill and 12v impact. Drill is smallish but has decent power and the impact has something like 800 in/lbs which is more than enough for my purposes.
  3. I'll bet there will be at least few comparisons written about these two. My money is on the Kawasaki.
  4. If you french fry when you should pizza yer gonna have a bad time.
  5. I don't think the physics are remotely comparable. The edge on a ski or snowboard curved. When leaned it forces it to bend and the radius of that bend, along with conditions, determine how sharply you can turn.
  6. The riders in that class are top notch, but you should read their comments on the XR1200. The ones I have seen are not complimentary. After watching those same riders in the other classes, the XR1200 class looks like it's in slow motion. Also, the XR1200s don't always run the same course. It's usually shortened, so the lap times may be misleading.
  7. This thread reminds me of the time... I raced a Harley today and after some really hard riding I managed to PASS the guy. I was riding on one of those really, really twisting sections of canyon road with no straight sections to speak of and where most of the curves have warning signs that say "15 MPH". I knew if I was going to pass one of those monsters with those big-cubic-inch motors, it would have to be a place like this where handling and rider skill are more important than horsepower alone. I saw the guy up ahead as I exited one of the turns and knew I could catch him, but it wouldn't be easy. I concentrated on my braking and cornering. three corners later, I was on his fender. Catching him was one thing; passing him would prove to be another. Two corners later, I pulled up next to him as we sailed down the mountain. I think he was shocked to see me next to him, as I nearly got by him before he could recover. Next corner, same thing. I'd manage to pull up next to him as we started to enter the corners but when we came out he'd get on the throttle and outpower me. His horsepower was almost too much to overcome, but this only made me more determined than ever. My only hope was to outbrake him. I held off squeezing the lever until the last instant. I kept my nerve while he lost his. In an instant I was by him. Corner after corner, I could hear the roar of his engine as he struggled to keep up. Three more miles to go before the road straightens out and he would pass me for good. But now I was in the lead and he would no longer hold me back. I stretched out my lead and by the time we reached the bottom of the canyon, he was more than a full corner behind. I could no longer see him in my rear-view mirror. Once the road did straighten out, it seemed like it took miles before he passed me, but it was probably just a few hundred yards. I was no match for that kind of horsepower, but it was done. In the tightest section of road, where bravery and skill count for more than horspower and deep pockets, I had passed him. though it was not easy, I had won the race to the bottom of the canyon and I had preserved the proud tradition of another of America's best bikes. I will always remember that moment. I don't think I've ever pedaled so hard in my life. And some of the credit must go to Schwinn, as well. They really make a great bicycle...
  8. Ohlins on a Harley kinds of seems like putting lipstick on a pig, or tits on a bull. But if you like it then good for you.
  9. And how does a Harley do that better than any other motorcycle?
  10. Harley excels at marketing and selling image...building capable motorcycles...not so much. Leave sport bikes out of it for a moment...just compare cruisers. From the saddle, how is a Harley any better than a Victory, Star, Honda, etc? By comparison, Harleys aren't particularly reliable, powerful, or good at handling. They tend to finish middle of the pack in cruiser comparisons except for the all important "coolness factor" category, which is only important to brand fags. A stock Harley is acceptably reliable. Engine work tends to make them less reliable (see CVO models). They styling is nice, they are shiny, and they are good for standing next to at bike night. If that is what you want in a bike then a HD is probably the right choice...BUT if you like to ride for the pure enjoyment of riding there are many, many better choices.
  11. We can't trust those Maple Smokers or their false bacon. They have attacked before: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Detroit
  12. I like that is has an optional factory top case and flyscreen. It could make for a nice commuter or light tourer. Then maybe add some R6 forks...
  13. They're every bit as authentic as new Triumphs. And every member of the "original Indian team" has been dead for a very long time.
  14. If this comes to the US for $6,500 it may be worth picking one up. It has a little more power than an SV650 and weighs less than 400 wet. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/firstrides/2014_yamaha_mt_07_first_ride/

    F'n Repubs.

Personally, I think the whole democrat vs republican thing in DC is nothing but a smokescreen to fool the populous. When the cameras aren't rolling Dems and Repubs are buddies that want nothing more than to keep the power they already have and keep building their personal fortunes. If it was in either party's best interest to cooperate it would have happened 40 fucking years ago. The answer: Congressional terms limits to root out corrupt career politicians. Politics was intended to be a service to your country, not a career. http://www.rollcall.com/50richest/the-50-richest-members-of-congress-112th.html
  17. The focus groups determined the product should appear to be 25% more metal than the last crappy albums. They used to be a cutting edge metal band, now they have as much musical integrity as <insert current boy band here> Guitar Hero? Remastering tracks for the game? That doesn't sound very metal to me

I blame all the f'ing independents.
  20. Having had a 2011 Fatboy as a loaner for 10 days, I concur. If you've ever driven a truck with no power steering, a Fatboy may seem familiar to you.
