  1. I don't think that outdated criteria for selecting vendors for gub'ment contracts is the same as capitalism.
  2. It's been debated other places than this. There are advanced road materials that are very durable like rubberized asphalt. They are not widely used. I am not in that industry, I know a few who are. Those who award road contracts do no have a reason to insist on better materials. Also, If you use better materials, roads need repaired less often, and road contruction companies get less work...or at least that's what I've heard.
  3. For a starting point, I would use what's recommended in your bike's manual--not the max pressure of the tire. You can adjust for personal preference from there. Do you want max grip? Max tire life? Or somewhere in the middle? For my Suzuki I use 32f/34r, on the Honda 33f/35r. http://www.sportrider.com/tech/tires/146_0206_motorcycle_tire_pressure/

    Good luck with that.
  5. Seems like it would be fun at first, then collect dust.

I'm stealing this. I just need to figure out how to measure whp...should be fun.
  7. Maybe then they'd be forced to build better bikes to stay afloat...just saying.
  8. This sounds like a half-assed liquid cooling attempt... According to Harley PR, “Twin cooling cools the heads around the exhaust ports to deliver at or near peak performance under all operation conditions and temperatures.” This is achieved via a small 1.1 quart liquid-cooling system that routes through the downtubes to discreet radiators housed in the lower fairing louvers.

So can I. I thought same dyno on the same day was much more reliable information for the sake of comparing the 2. I have a similar displacement v-twin. At those power levels, I find the linear power delivery more useful than the dyno numbers...

    How do you define similar?
  11. I am sure all of this 'yesterday' technology will have 'tomorrow' pricing.
  12. That's like the super-duper-really-fucking-black-pot calling the kettle black.

I'm still not 100% for Saturday. I'll know tomorrow. I'd be looking to meet at the Millersburg Speedway around 8:30.

    What's the meet time/place?
  15. You didn't happen to get a sneak peak at the dealer network, did you?
  16. I have somewhere around 20k very accurate rounds through my S&W .22. 22s are fun to shoot, but recent gun control initiatives have made .22 rounds hard to find in stores.
  17. I rode 255 on Sunday. The road surface was in decent shape, but there was quite a bit of gravel. About half the right handers had gravel from trucks dragging it onto the surface Still worth riding, but at a slower than usual pace.
  18. So you're disagreeing...wait...now you're agreeing... wait, what? This was the point, LL is a slow moving legal process. In my case, the lawyer actually got it moving faster. It did not make me an expert. It gave me cause to hire an expert because the OEM was basically shitting the bed. So the OEMs think the OEMs are doing a great job? I'm sure some do, but not the one I was forced to deal with. You are welcome to PM me if you feel the need to continue this douchebaggery.
  19. If you haven't already, you should send this to the guy in Triumph customer service. That is the kind of message that would make rounds in a service organization.
