  1. I installed this just before Hurricane Sandy. Glad I did. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Basement-Watchdog-1-2-HP-Big-Combination-Sump-Pump-System-BW4000/202042663 After the battery and everything it was about $500. IMO, this is the best setup you can get. It has several redundant backups..2 pumps and 4 switches. On most pumps the switch fails before the pump. It also has alarms for every failure scenario. It comes prebuilt so the install is simple. Money well spent.
  2. That is exactly the opposite of the basis of our justice system.
  3. You can test to see if drugs have been in you systems in the past 30 days or so. But there's no reliable test to determine if you're currently under the influence of many common drugs.
  4. What is the test to determine if you are under the influence of drugs?
  5. My opinion of LEOs is based on my dealings with them over the years (no criminal history here), and a few I know on a personal level. While I know there are 'good cops,' I can't say I've ever met a truly great police officer. I have met a few that seemed like they we more suited to sitting in the backseat of the patrol car. I'm certain that the percentage of 'bad cops' is much higher than anyone is willing to admit.
  6. This video illustrates my general mistrust, dislike, and lack of respect for police officers. They are more than willing to violate civil rights, and in some cases break the law in order to uphold the law. We basically have a bunch of armed, 'C-' students with badges doing whatever the hell they want to. When they fuck up (like killing unarmed motorists in Cleveland) their supervisors get in trouble. Law Enforcement in this country is long overdue for sweeping reform.
  7. If he's asking $7k firm, he's going to have plenty of time to wash it over and over...(from a former owner of 3 Buells)

  9. meh..a purple sport bike wouldn't be my first choice
  10. Every time you throw a leg over you assume a degree of risk. All of us have decided that the fun/benefits of riding a motorcycle outweigh the risk. I am more than willing to accept the risk for myself, but not for anyone else especially my kids. Kids don't understand this. A youngin' will easily understand the fun part, but cannot comprehend the risk until they reach a certain age...and that is going to be a different age for every kid.

  12. 10 and over and only on a bike with a backrest.
  13. I don't mind leading. But I need to get a feel for the group first. I don't want everyone mf-ing me at gas stops In an (mostly) unfamiliar group, I prefer to hang in the back for the first part to see where everyone is comfortable. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/flashback/122_0911_the_pace_nick_ienatsch/
  14. What is the preferred pace for this ride? Mild to wild?
  15. Ask Erik Buell how that would work out.
  16. Harley has engineers? Who knew? Seriously though, the biggest technical undertaking at HD in the last 25 years was probably the move from carbs to FI, and that's because they had to go to FI to meet emissions requirements. I picture a lot of engineering ideas being over ruled by the HD stylists. I would love some someone to engineer a bit more function into that ass jewelry though.
  17. If you've never ridden 536, there is an infamous corner that has wrecked LOTS of motorcycle over the years. It's a blind, decreasing radius, 15 mph curve that tightens up REALLY quickly. Going the direction from OH78 to OH7, it's a right hand turn. It could get you if you don't know to look for it.
  18. Not a VFR but probably better. If I didn't just buy a new bike I'd be making an offer on this: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/3896821967.html
  19. Might be interested in a 50 setup.
  20. I think investing in gold is a huge mistake right now. People invest in precious metals when the economy sucks. They pull their money out of stocks and invest in something more tangible like gold. When stocks and interest rates climb, gold will drop...like you are already starting to see. When interest rates climb significantly from their historic lows, I wouldn't want my $$ in gold. YMMV.
  21. I wouldn't ride anything under an SV650. 65-70 hp is my minimum requirement for passing on 2 lane back roads. http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/3890522801.html
  22. Yea, she was flogged hard all weekend...no safewords.
