  1. If he's asking $7k firm, he's going to have plenty of time to wash it over and over...(from a former owner of 3 Buells)

  3. meh..a purple sport bike wouldn't be my first choice
  4. Every time you throw a leg over you assume a degree of risk. All of us have decided that the fun/benefits of riding a motorcycle outweigh the risk. I am more than willing to accept the risk for myself, but not for anyone else especially my kids. Kids don't understand this. A youngin' will easily understand the fun part, but cannot comprehend the risk until they reach a certain age...and that is going to be a different age for every kid.
  5. Court OKs Barring High IQs for Cops http://abcnews.go.com/US/court-oks-barring-high-iqs-cops/story?id=95836#.UdMsBT7wI0o
  6. 10 and over and only on a bike with a backrest.
  7. I don't mind leading. But I need to get a feel for the group first. I don't want everyone mf-ing me at gas stops In an (mostly) unfamiliar group, I prefer to hang in the back for the first part to see where everyone is comfortable. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/flashback/122_0911_the_pace_nick_ienatsch/
  8. What is the preferred pace for this ride? Mild to wild?
  9. Ask Erik Buell how that would work out.
  10. Harley has engineers? Who knew? Seriously though, the biggest technical undertaking at HD in the last 25 years was probably the move from carbs to FI, and that's because they had to go to FI to meet emissions requirements. I picture a lot of engineering ideas being over ruled by the HD stylists. I would love some someone to engineer a bit more function into that ass jewelry though.
  11. If you've never ridden 536, there is an infamous corner that has wrecked LOTS of motorcycle over the years. It's a blind, decreasing radius, 15 mph curve that tightens up REALLY quickly. Going the direction from OH78 to OH7, it's a right hand turn. It could get you if you don't know to look for it.
  12. Not a VFR but probably better. If I didn't just buy a new bike I'd be making an offer on this: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/3896821967.html
  13. Might be interested in a 50 setup.
  14. I think investing in gold is a huge mistake right now. People invest in precious metals when the economy sucks. They pull their money out of stocks and invest in something more tangible like gold. When stocks and interest rates climb, gold will drop...like you are already starting to see. When interest rates climb significantly from their historic lows, I wouldn't want my $$ in gold. YMMV.
  15. I wouldn't ride anything under an SV650. 65-70 hp is my minimum requirement for passing on 2 lane back roads. http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/3890522801.html
  16. Yea, she was flogged hard all weekend...no safewords.
  17. On Friday I had 1 inch of free play. After 1,000 miles this weekend, it was over 4 inches and making some strange noises. I'll be calling DucRx this week for my valve check, plugs, chain, and any else I notice before then.
  18. How much mileage do you expect to get from a chain and/or sprockets? I'm at 15k and mine feels like it's done.
  19. Weather you buy new or lease new, you still pay for depreciation. The only difference is when you're paying for it. Going over on miles means that the car depreciates faster than assumed in the lease agreement, and you have to pay for it. A purchased car also depreciates faster if you drive a lot of miles. A nice thing about leasing is you never have to sell a used car and won't have to deal with a trade in. I've bought new and leased new. If you know how to negotiate a lease, there's really not much difference.
  20. What horror stories? It's not that much different than buying. Some people don't realize that you can negotiate a lease price. You absolutely can. You can negotiate the down payment, monthly payments, residual value, and obviously the trade-in.
  21. Pocket pistol, deck of cards, and box of condoms. I'll shoot, win, or fuck what I need to survive.
