  1. I like Sigmas, heavy trigger and all. I've owned or at least fired just about every hadgun that I've wanted to fire. I bought my SW9VE about 12 years ago, at the time I also had a Sig P228. I fired the 2 side by side many times. I was consistently more accurate with the Sigma...no one was more surprised than me. Sold the P228 years ago...I've owned a lot of guns since then...the Sigma is still next to my bed.
  2. The SV is a good bike. The Duc is gooder.

    Tattoos

Uh yeah...Face tattoos definitely make for some limitations later in life. Probably some psychology involved in that kind of decision.
  4. So...no need to plan a route home?
  5. 71S>83S>62W>60S I plan to be to Killbuck by 9:30...which means I need to pick up 83 in Lodi by 8:30...so I'll need to roll out by 7:45.
  6. Off topic...but what softball league?
  7. I'll prolly pick up your route on 60S at Killbuck, and pass you somewhere on 79. How big of a group should I be looking for? Any idea what the lead bike will be?
  8. Where/when is lunch? I am considering joining for part of this ride. I would just ride the reverse of the reverse route until I pass a group of sportbikes. I'll just turn around...no need to wait.
  9. I put 35k on an 03 XB9S. Tires, oil, and gas...

That's a lot of straps to tie down a bike.
  12. I prefer twins & I seem to cumpulsively buy bikes Plus, I got it for a deal. It has an LSL Superbike bar kit which is close to the naked SV1000 riding position (came with stock clipons too). Also has dual Microns (loud), a PCIII, and various other farkles. You're welcome to take a look at it if you have any interest in the SV1K. I think you're about 2 miles from me.
  13. I just bought an SV1000S. Really good for what it is. Fully adjustable suspension, stiff frame, and the motor has plenty of low end grunt. Add hard bags and it would be a very sporty sport tourer. I've not heard of major issues, but there are a few 'characteristics' to get used to...like a noisy clutch basket. But that may seem quiet compared to a Ducati Monster clutch.
  14. I would buy this, but I'd need to try it on first. I'm near Cleveland though.
  15. Either the R/R or the stator.
  16. I don't think a Snell certified Arai or Shoei is going to protect better than a Snell certified Scorpion or KBC. That said, my current lid is ECE. The article also compares helmets at different price points. More money doesn't mean safer.
  17. I have no experience with the Vega brand. But I seriously doubt that Shoei or Arai are any safer than a Scoprion, KBC, Sparx or any number a good Snell or ECE helmets that can be had under $200. More expensive ones may have nicer liners or visor systems...and they better for $500.
  18. I logged somewhere around 425 miles for the day then drank beer and grilled steaks. A good day.
  19. are you sure? http://www.westcoastweasels.com/archives/PDF/Blowing_the_Lid_Off.pdf
  20. The Sparx S-07 is a surprisingly good helmet that is very lightweight. You can find them for dirt cheap on eBay. I used one for about 8,000 miles last year and it's holding up just fine.
