    Investing...

It all depends on your tolerance for risk. Now is not a great time for investors. Real Estate is flat. 'Safe' investments (Savings, CDs, Gov't Bonds) have very low returns right now. Stocks & funds have more upside and also more risk. The 2020, 2030, 2040, etc retirement funds have gotten popular. Maxing your 401k is a good move. I believe $16,500 is the max for 2011.
  2. He used to hang out with a hooker:pope:
  3. I would not only finance a new bike, but make sure you get a bunch of accessories...and finance them too. That way you'll always owe way more than the bike is worth. If something changes and you need to sell it, you won't be to without getting totally screwed out of thousands of dollars. And that's f'n hardcore. Plus a new bike is really shiny, so who cares what insurance costs. Good financial decisions are for pussies anyway.
  4. Lots of good advice here...
  5. I don't think an 06/07 would be much less to insure than an 08/09. It still a super sport. What about something like an FZ1 or Z1000?
  6. I pay less than $300 year for both my bikes. If your insurance is that high, I would look into something that's not categorized as a super sport.
  7. Since the wife wants something smaller for CC, are you interested in working out a trade for a Kel Tec P3AT in Hard Chrome, has extra mag with finger ext and belt clip. btw, I am not interested in selling the Kel Tec outright.
  8. I generally answer unless the person is selling something or carrying a bible.
  9. My beer fridge is an old pop machine with a bunch of punk rock and motorcycle stickers all over it. I never noticed it running when temps were below freezing.
  10. Forcing citizens to purchase a commercial product is not OK. If anything, that would eventually drive UP the cost of healt care. Insurance providers would no longer need offer low price options to attract people without insurance to purchace it.
  11. I would scare thre shit out of some seals with that.
  12. I own a car wash...so snow + salt = $
  13. There may be a few cases of failed motors, but by and large they seem to be few and far between. Rotax makes a good mill. As part of the Buell shutdown, HD wound up with a LOT of 2010 1125 motors in crates that they have no itention to use. So, if there is an 1125 with a mechanical issue they seem to be replacing the entire motor rather than spending much time diagnosing or fixing. HD already bought the 2010 motors so replacing is the cheaper option. There are plenty of 1125s that have run beyond 40-50k already. IMO the motor is solid, HD support...not so much. I am really curious to see what the 1190RS dealer network is going to be. Guessing is will be affiliated with Can Am or Bombardier. Hopefully, they will support 1125 owners as well...I suspect they will.
  14. Does that include the Katana trailer surcharge?
  15. I put an EBR Race ECM on my '09 (keeping the stock exhaust). The bike really came alive. It also runs cooler and MUCH smoother. The Race ECM should be a mandatory mod for anyone that owns an 1125.
  16. That pic has some hang time, but very few actually sold at that price during the fire sale. I think most were in the $6-7 range. I'll be very curious to see how many of the 1190RS pieces fit the 1125. I suspect ERB will support the 1125 more so than HD.

  18. I have no interest in owning a Harley. But it looks like I'm a partial owner already
