    Buell

Similair quotes have been made by HD spokes-people...Buell is too entrenched, too deeply integrated, etc. I formally call shenanigans. In this age of mergers and spinoffs, much more complicated business actions take place all the time. I personally have been involved in 2 of them. GM sold Hummer, Ford is trying to sell Volvo, etc. I fully understand why HD wants to keep control of the XB mill. But what is 'integrated' about the 1125. There is not 1 part that is common between the 1125 and any HD model. All 1125 parts are made by Buell or sourced from a vendor...not 1 part is made by HD. HD has also said they don't want to let an outside business entitiy gain access to their dealer network. Again, I fully understand that reasoning. However, the groups that are trying to buy Buell have already stated that would not want any access to HD dealers. If I had HOG stock, I would require much better answer from HDI's board or directors.

    Buell

Erik still owns 2% of Buell, it's not clear if he still retained patents or intellectual property. He very likely signed a non-compete agreement when he sold interests to HD. So his hands may be tied for 2 or 3 years. Apparently the 1199cc bike was real. It was going to be the Buell Barracuda and was scheduled to be released 7/2011. With significantly less weight & more HP than the 1125R, it would have to use some expensive materials. It would probably be priced to compete with Duc 1198 models. I think everyone can point out reasons why HD and sportbikes are not a good fit. But, it's a mystery why HD would choose to close Buell and make no attempt to sell the brand. In the last month, several groups have made proposals to buy Buell, HD still maintains Buell will not be sold. If you read HDs financial results, HD is in bad shape. HD Finance is losing TONS of cash with subprime loans. It's not like Buell technology or Rotox motors will ever find thier way into an Electra Glide.

    Buell

It sure could have been. Not only did HD kill Buell, they killed the American Sportbike industry
  4. Inya, What is your impression of the XB?

    Buell

Anybody see this??? http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2009/11/14/what-was-buell-working-on-when-the-end-came/ What was Buell Working on When the End Came? Speculation about the bike indicates a displacement of 1199cc with much less weight and more horsepower than the current 1125R, it's the kind of bike you would build if you were planning on World Super Bike competition, or more to the point, the bike you would build as a true, no compromise, world class American sport bike.
  6. Today's CORE ride was great, 'cept for Pauly's mechanical. I wound up around 425 miles for the day, including a triple digit run down WV7. The 1125 is going to get me in trouble
  7. I got one in SS. Excellent size for IWB carry. It shoots nice too. It's a new model so there isn't much molded leather available for it yet.
  8. How long did it take to get your title? I bought mine from Biketown on 10/25. They said it would take a month for the title to arrive..
  9. Mine was built 1/09, with M3PUS12z. M3HUS142 is noticeably better.
  10. If you have been monitoring Badweb you may alredy know this... In the last week or 2 new ECM Flashes have been released for all 1125s. The feedback is that these calibrations pull harder, run smoother, and run a couple degrees cooler. Some 08s had surging issues, this seems to have been addressed also. Reflashing is covered under your warranty. Some HD dealers are better than others about keeping current. I would insist that they run your VIN on HD Net and verify the most current version. These are the latest and greatest ECM calibrations: '08 R = M3HUS062 '09 R = M3HUS142 '09 CR = M3PUS152
  11. Again, that was 100% conceived by HD Marketing.
  12. That was the marketing angle conceived by HD. It was just before the equally-poorly-recived "Book of Buell" that was also 100% conceived by HD Marketing. btw, that was said to be the 2010 Blast. Actually, the 2010 Blast hit HD showrooms without Buell or HD badging. It is still used by the HD Riders Edge Program.
  13. You do realize that that 'brilliant' piece of marketing was 100% conceived by the folks at HD, right?
  14. Yep, like a Hawk GT, or Pacific Coast. None were a hit in the showroom, but now have a following.
  15. The CBX and the KZ1300 were both I6s. Neither were particularly popular.
  16. I guess that's the 'best' option, the others are too scary to even consider
  17. There are some awful pics on that site.
  18. Semper-mother-fucking-Fi USMC 1990-1993
  19. That is the most interested I have ever been in soccer. I would totally bang #15.
  20. I logged a little over 400 miles & Tod got flipped off by Santa Claus. All things considered...a good day.
