I was a good story, until I saw the picture with the man-panties. Now I wish he was still in the desert.
-
I may take a couple days to get pics, but it looks like a new 3rd gen Glock.
I went over it yesterday, and didn't see any wear or cosmetic issues.
-
The engines in them were definitely 5 valves per cylinder.
Back in the day, I had a 1985 Maxim X with the same 20 valve (5 per cyl) motor. Definitely a good mill and could pull away from my friend's V45 Magna.

Bump for a Glock that is like new.

I'm selling this for a good friend that just lost his job and needs cash.
3rd Gen Glock 22, Excellent condition
--less than 250 rounds fired,
--4 mags, 2 Hi-Caps, 2 10 rounds
--Original box, manual, etc.
--Comes with 1 box of ammo, don't remember what kind.
I'd like to get $450 for it.

Now that's funny because I had no idea what Adam did at work, now I know. No matter what he tries to say different this is forever going to be my mental image of what he does for a living.
I appreciate all the offers for help guys and would have taken someone up on a safe place to keep the bike until I could come and pick it up. It was Sunday and early enough in the day for me to take care of everything that day or I would have sent out a bigger SOS call instead of just to that underachiever Adam.
I have an enclosed trailer and am offering it up to anyone who needs help also just PM me for my number.
I looked at the bike this evening and it appears that the motor is blown. Somehow it must have started to burn oil since I changed the oil 2,100 miles ago and got too low without the oil warning light coming on. I only drained two quarts out of it without taking the filter off. The noise its making is not from the clutch as I had hoped so now I have two bikes that I can't afford to fix right now. I probably won't be doing anymore street riding this year. I received good news today that I will be starting back to work next week, for those that didn't know I have been laid off since May. Hopefully by next spring I will have enough money to have both bikes fixed.
Glad your back to work!
Are you sure about the motor being blown? 2qts is definitely low, but should be enough to maintain oil pressure. That's prolly why the oil pressure light didn't come on.

That sucks, but at least you got it home.
Let me know if you need another wrench.

MJ's death affected me just as much as my death would have affected him.

Well, I let it sit overnight and tried it again and now everything is fine. Go figure.
-
...so I was installing a new battery on the GF's Nighthawk 2fity.
I added the electrolyte, charged it, and let is sit per the instructions. I attached the positive terminal, and as I ws 'trying' to attach the negative terminal the battery started hissing and getting hot. I disconnected it and let it sit for 5 minutes. I tried again with the same result. WTF? Did I get a bad battery?
I never even had the ignition turned on.

If there weren't already 3 bikes in the garage, I would be all over this one.

The XB9S did great for 2,000+ miles in 4 days.

I just passed that last night, but decided not to take 148. We were headed south out of Barnesville on 800, over to Wilson, and I wanted to cut over to 26 into Wilson, but had rememberd that they are chip and sealing everything over that way. I was not about to try it as hot as it was last night. I would say with 100% confidence that there is loose stone all over that.
That sux, but thx for the road recon.. That is a fun stretch of road.

scott,
was there in beallsville yesterday (twice) dont remember see the diner, is it on 145,,556 ?
yesterday did 7s to Powhattan Point
148 to 145s to 556 back to 7s
536 to 78 back to 7s
255 to 800n to 78w-145n
(stopped for gas in beallsville, the kid at the gas station pointed across the street and said " that road has some good tuns on it " he was pointing at 556, I laughed, mostly at myself , and said " oh , I was already on that today.")
To 148 to 9n to 70w to 331n to 519 ( another nice twisty)
250s to 150 to 152 to 151 to 7n to 22e and home.
350 miles , 9hrs total
This is one of the reasons i'm on here. now if I can only meet up with some of ya guys.........
Do you ahppen to know if 148 between 145 & 800 is still covered with gravel?

...worth a look. I am on like my 4th set of these. Long lasting, even wear, and excellent grip all the way to the edges. And the price is right.

I read the same issue on several sites. YMMV.

I would do a little research on the BT021. Reports have shown probs with the BT021 front (The rear seems to be OK). Apparently the front wears in 'steps' between the different compounds and can cause some funky handling issues. Also, the front seems to wear before the rear.

CORE ride was great, no cops or drops. 303 total miles for me.
The CORE ride was really fun. 468 miles in that heat, was a real workout.

can you really hit the twistys with sport touring tires without worrying about losing traction. big difference in 3-4k and 8-10k
Yes. Absolutely. Modern ST tires have more than enough grip to drag knees.
Conti Road Attacks, Stradas, and Pilot Road 2s are the best of the bunch.

I've never had to do this, but...
If a mechanic provides a service on a vehicle and the owner either abondons the vehicle or refuses to pay, a mechanic can file a lein. After some time limit the mechanic can have a new title issued.
-
A court ordered title is a lot of red tape and not a sure thing. If you have a mechanic friend, you can ask him to file a mechanics lein.

I've been pulled over while carrying. After I informed the officer I was carrying & and in a pocket...the first thing he asked me was if it was in a holster. A pocket is not a holster, wrapping it in a bandana is not a holster, etc.
-
Why bother? Holster just secures it to you, pocket is as good as a holster
For legal conceled carry, it needs to be in a holster. Pocket holsters are cheap and keep it positioned for easy access.
Lottery?
