    4 day KY. ride

This is one of the lots I was looking at. Opinion? https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/11-Waters-Edge-Dr-Nancy-KY-42544/2089549140_zpid/?
  2. Agree to disagree. I think it's a police accountability issue caused by police unions. Try to reconcile this data against BLM's claim that "white supremacists" are rampantly killing blacks. It doesn't add up. https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2017/crime-in-the-u.s.-2017/topic-pages/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-6.xls About 88% of black murders are committed by blacks. About 80% of whites murders are committed by whites. Figures for police aren't drastically different. When the problem is misdiagnosed, the proposed cure is usually ineffective.
  3. Yup I think congressional term limits might help to a degree, but I don't see it happening. Career politicians were never the intent. You were supposed to represent the area where you live, serve your term, then go home.
  4. I don't think it's semantics at all. I think trying to frame this as racism it causing a huge divide across the country. That divide is arguably has a much bigger impact than police brutality. Let's be honest, the media & democrats LOVE to call things racist. That shit needs to stop.
  5. If you are planning multiday 2 up trips at at a faster pace than the Voyager can manage then your choices get limited. The GW and the K1600 are going t have the best passenger accomodations, perhaps a used K1300. Your pillion probably wouldn't be liking an RT so much after day 2 unless she has built significant fortitude. I personally don't care to ride 2 up at a quick pace for multiple reasons. Something like the Voyager would probably be enough for my 2 up needs.
  6. As much as I like the new LC RT, a used 2009+ will do just as nicely for 2 up riding. And you can find them, well farkled, for just a little more than you are asking for your Duc.
  7. The new RT is a fantastic machine.

    4 day KY. ride

I only rode in KY that one time on the way back from the Gap. I forget your route, but the roads were twisty, in nice shape, and the traffic was light.

We need to talk about this. I was speaking to a real estate agent about water front lots in Nancy and Monticello. I'd like to hear some opinions of the area.

    Let them die.

So does HD and they are circling the drain.

Adventure bikes are by far the most virile segment right now. Give HD credit for making an effort with the PA, but they are late to the game and their is already strong, well-established competition. Harley could really use a win here. Which is most likely scenario: A) Sales flop. HD is too far out of their comfort zone. It will be too heavy, will lack features and capability & will be at the bottom of every comparison. B) Mediocre sales. It will never make it to showrooms in meaningful numbers. HD dealers won't know how to talk to adventure buyers (ala Buell). Will be a niche bike among the HD faithful. C) Sales success. HD will knock this out of the park and and surprise the GS, KTM, Tiger, AT, VStrom, & Tenere. It will be a viable contender and attract riders from other manufacturers.

Look at the model line ups of the big 4 Japanese manufacturers. Kawasaki and Yamaha have by far the most desirable models in the categories where most bikes sell. FZ09, FZ07, Tracer, Ninja 650, Z900, Ninja 1000 all sell. Beginner sportbikes...Suzuki built the terrible selling GSX250R , which is good competition for the 1988 Ninja 250. Honda has the CBR500R (CBR300R is not even worth mentioning). Compare the CBR500R to the Ninja 400...The Ninja is lighter, faster, better handling, better suspended, more engaging to ride, fun on a track, and way less expensive. The Honda is....."crickets"

New, 2014 CTX700s and CTX1300s were still in showrooms last year. The NC700x, NT700V, VFR1200, CB1100, CB1000R were all overpriced swings and misses. CBRs always rank near the bottom in HP. All those bikes are fine to ride, but compared to compared to the competition, they are more expensive and lack features that buyers want. The new GW is their best, most innovative offering in years, but 2018s are still sitting in showrooms.

Honda is the king of 5 year old motorcycles aging on the show room floor.

Yay! A lot of my 401k is in S&P index funds.

Manufacturers that build innovative, engaging motorcycles are still doing well in the US. I think that list is limited to BMW, Triumph, KTM, Ducati, Yamaha, and Kawasaki.

He did, but that was years ago.

Harley's lack of innovation has not typically been an issue for them. People bought them as modern antiques. ...but, all the bikes they made in their late 2000s hayday are flooding the used market, and prices are dropping. Those used bikes are 95% the same as new Harleys and way cheaper..and they're old-school/air-cooled.
  20. Yes, unfortunately. Roadsmart 3s (just mounted a set, never tried 2s) use something different so new tires don't need as many scrub in miles.
  21. 165 hp & 163 ft lbs. This has been added to my garage bucket list. I need to own one of these when used ones can be had under 10k.
