  1. Seattle is a national embarrassment.

    Sunday ride 6-7

556 used to be one of my favorites (5 years ago). Anymore, that road has been ruined by fracking traffic. The last 3 or 4 times I woundup riding at 35mph behind convoys.

Also in N Ridgeville. I have a tall Givi Windscreen for a CB500x in the garage if you want it.
  4. That's really short sighted actually. We need cops. If being a cop becomes a terrible (even harder than now) job, then you're going to have fewer and less qualified applicants for those positions, and the situation would quickly become worse. Like I said before, there needs to be a balance. I don't think cops are the problem, I think the Police Unions create the atmosphere for the lack of accountability. If there's a fight for change that's where it will take place https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/08/politics/police-union-reform-protests/index.html Here is some equality...BLM is equally flawed as the FOP. Their messaging is confusing. They don't condone violence or looting (wink, wink), yet many of their larger rallies devolve into opportunistic chaos, and their organization doesn't prevent it.
  5. Over the years Police Unions (FOP) went from "protecting officers" to protecting officers at all costs." And yes, "all costs" does mean lying under oath and tampering with evidence to protect officers that fucked up. It happens...because you would want your brother officers to protect you too...right? Departments can't usually even fire cops because of the FOP. There needs to be a balance though. Being a cop is a hard job. I wouldn't want to be a cop, would you?
  6. Gift cards are typically a balance sheet liability. They can't just be forgotten. Did they file bankruptcy?
  7. Do you mean if he picked Hillary for a VP?

    That's a fun loop.
  9. We'll be on the road at 6a on the 21st, but won't get to TN until late afternoon.
  10. To be fair, Biden has also said plenty of bizarre things recently. There's widespread concern among democrats that his memory & mental health is deteriorating. That is the reason he is being kept out of the public eye as much as possible right now. His performance in debates will be very telling. I suspect there will be talk of cancelling or pre-recording debate answers to shield him. Biden's choice of VP will be very interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if would resign before the end of 4 years if he does get elected. I suspect his health will decline.
  11. I'd be very interested if I didn't already have a sporty naked bike. Paul had this thing hustlin' through corners in WV last year.
  12. I think Biden's best strategy is to keep his mouth shut and hope Trump tweets himself out of the race...and realistically that has a chance of working.
  13. While think those officers were wrong and deserve to pay the price. I don't agree with Black Lives Matter's core mission "#BlackLivesMatter was founded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer. Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes." I think Police reform is long overdue, and that extends to accountability even beyond excessive force. However, this notion of wide spread white-on-black murder is not supported by actual data: https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2017/crime-in-the-u.s.-2017/topic-pages/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-6.xls
  14. Our country isn't perfect, but we're resilient and our economy is fundamentally strong. Whether or not you like Trump, his deregulation HAS made the economy stronger. The trade fight he started with China was long overdue, and let's face it Obama didn't do it and Hillary wouldn't have either. The non-headlines that made our economy stronger: https://www.brookings.edu/interactives/tracking-deregulation-in-the-trump-era/
  15. The S&P 500 just had its best 50 days ever https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/04/investing/premarket-stocks-trading/index.html
  16. If you have the original owner's manual there should be a card with the code on it.
  17. It seems like many of these protests follow the same pattern. 1st wave - peaceful kids with signs and megaphones, saying "don't shoot" or "I can't breathe" 2nd wave comes a few hours later with no megaphones and lots of bad intentions. Stores destroyed, cars set on fire, etc. 1st wave says they aren't with us. We don't know who they are. That part I believe. Is it possible that both waves are organized by the same group? but intentionally kept separate? This really doesn't seem to be a coincidence anymore.
