This isn't Craigslist, if you're looking for a community of bikers and want to introduce yourself and get into the "scene" that's cool. There are many newbs here looking for bikes. If you're here just to spam looking for a bike, take it to Craigslist and GTFO. Sorry if I'm harsh, but coming in here and having your first post say, "I want a bike" and that's it is a little gay.

So here's the deal, my contract is up with Verizon very soon. Don wants an iPhone, but will settle for a Storm. Now this isn't an iPhone vs. Storm deal so leave the Apple nuthugging out of it. I'm currently paying $48.19/month through Verizon for the Crackberry Pearl and I could upgrade to the Storm for $100. My other option is pay $67/month through AT&T for an iPhone with a startup fee of $236 for the phone. Someone tell me if downgrading to AT&Ts network from Verizon (which is still superior in coverage) for more money per month is worth the extra cost for that shiny cool phone. The extra money doesn't bother me if the service is comparable but if i'm gonna pay more and get shittier service then I may have an issue. Opinions?

Another accident where "the motorcycle struck the car"
RSVDon replied to progrmr's topic in Daily Ride
I call bullshit. I can guarantee that between day 1 and year 4 I had changed a lot as a driver, and for the better. (racing classes with the personal car may have helped the matter though) -
You mean I have to get rid of my bling to go faster? Damnit!

Oh man! If Aprilia comes out with a new hi-po two stroke I'm gonna be in a tight spot!
-
You would. That actually sounds like a fun way to pass the time.

He doesn't need to be arrested, or in court. What he needs is a good ol' fashioned ass-whopping followed by an explanation of why what he did was wrong. It always worked for me as a kid, and I definitely never did it again.

I can't see the pictures well on my BlackBerry. Ugh. It looks cool though. Does it have a single, central headlight like the F3?

That is unless you have a sprag clutch like us BMW, Ducati, and Aprilia guys. If the clutch starts to fail because of kickback then you're really fucked. We avoid this by using a good battery, battery tender, good starter solenoids, and a good ground strap so that the motor starts on the first turn over within a second. If the motor doesn't start on the first turn, it'll kick back against the sprag stripping the outside of the sprag housing. Hmmm, $350 sprag clutch (that's doing it myself) or $40 battery tender. I think you know that answer.

Buell 1125R Review... Not your dad's Buell...

That Rotax motor is a beautiful thing isn't it. -
Sounds kinky. Fixed.

^ +1 I have Sidi Vertigo boots. They are a race boot so they go up your calf, but they feel good. I wear them under jeans all the time, they breathe pretty well, are fairly light, and are comfortable to stand around in for a little bit, just not too long. One negative is the boot is definitely designed for a leather suit to be tucked in, so there's a lot of room around your calf when wearing jeans. Overall, for a race boot, it does pretty well as a street boot. I got them for $160 shipped very slighty used.

Damn...

Ooo, you got me there. It'd be a hard choice for me. But I may end up going with the Nera, then once the RSV4 is cheaper (because it'll still be around) I'd pick one up. The Nera for me is just too rare and too exclusive to pass up if I had the money.

Ok nevermind, I was thinking the PCIII acted something like a typical car ECU.

Yes and no. The bike has barometric pressure sensors, intake air sensors, manifold air pressure sensors, etc. The custom map will basically command a set fueling, spark, and VE curve. Then the computer will evaluate the conditions the motor is in and adjust the fueling, spark, etc to get as close to those commanded curves as possible without going outside of its safety parameters. So while the bike may not be in a perfect condition, the computer will adjust to get it as close to that simulated perfect condition as possible. At least this is how I understand it, but i'm also still learning. Moral of the story is, don't be a cheap ass. Get your bike tuned correctly.

over on the Aprilia Forum. $19,500 Has 7k miles. Aprilia RSV-R Nera 1 of 200 I know, you're probably thinking who cares it's just another stupid, slow, inferior, Italian bike. But this thing is special, and it ooozes badass from every nut and bolt. Most of which are magnesium, titanium, and other rare shit. This was one of the bikes in Aprilia's Dream Series. Came with a tailor made suit, helmet, private flight to the next MotoGP race with VIP treatment, and a tour of Aprilia's factory. I think the base price was $40,000! "The 2004 RSV 1000 Nera takes the technical superiority of the new RSV 1000 Factory even further. Exclusive upgrades include full carbon bodywork, including the fuel cell, magnesium wheels, and hand-massaged cylinder heads, all of which contribute to creating the lightest, quickest and most confidence inspiring motorcycle in the world. The standard full race exhaust system is also guaranteed to stir the soul of the European motorcycle enthusiast, as well as bring the 137-bhp V990 Magnesium engine to peak performance. Other technical innovations, such as the air-runner intake, ultra-rigid frame and top-shelf Öhlins suspension components are complemented by the exclusive use of exotic materials." "The Nera not only arrives standard with a full arsenal of design and engineering innovations, but such unique rewards as a trip to the 2004 Brazilian Grand Prix and private dinners with Aprilia’s racing team and GP factory racers. The price for the RSV 1000 Nera is $40,000, and enthusiasts can order their edition exclusively online." "The Nera ownership experience starts the moment customers reserve their motorcycle. An assigned personal concierge from Aprilia’s Noale, Italy world headquarters not only manages order through U.S. delivery, but assists with the fitment of limited custom-made Dainese leathers—equipped with Titanium at key points of contact. Nera owners also receive the first edition of a new Aprilia helmet and Aprilia performance gloves, as well as an executive desk model of the bike. Other immediate benefits include a limited edition photo book celebrating the Aprilia tradition of performance, a certificate of ownership signed by company president Ivano Beggio, an exclusive video and a Dream Card used to access private services available only to Nera owners. Being a member of the exclusive Nera owner’s club also offers plenty of opportunities to share the camaraderie of Aprilia ownership with other aficionados. All 200 Nera owners will be invited to a Grand Prix race on their continent (or bordering continent where applicable) for a true behind the scenes look at the astonishing technical and performance environment of a modern GP paddock. U.S. customers will be flown to the 2004 Rio Grand Prix in Brazil scheduled for the weekend of July 31 at the famed Nelson Piquet circuit. Upon arrival, the Nera owner and guest will receive full accommodations and full paddock access, including team gear and passes. The owner and guest will be invited to join the team for dinners and a personal meeting with the GP pilots. The unique benefits of ownership extend to Italy, where owners have access to privately escorted tours of the Noale offices, race shop, and the Scorze factory. "

Yeah. I had to go check, it's a 996. You're too quick on the draw.

Photos have leaked of the 2010 model. With just minor changes. I don't think it's going bye-bye.
