We all know this is bad (for the most part), but a question on another forum has me wondering about something. Dude posted up in the Goldwing forum asking if there was a way to 'turn off' the linked brakes easily. He wants them off because he believes they are the cause of his bike standing up while braking....while leaned over. So that made me curious, does the bike indeed stand up when you brake in a corner. For my Goldwing with linked brakes the answer is yes. I tested it on a few off ramps today OTW to work and it stands up for sure. A few inches I would say. So, those of you that do not have linked brakes, does your bike stand up a bit when you brake in the corner? I would think it does and has nothing to do with linked brakes but is standing up because you are bleeding off speed.

They certainly don't have every power outage attributable to squirrels counted, but the 3 attributable to humans is accurate. As for my quite a few reasons...... 1. In all of recorded history no one has beaten the squirrels without a real gun. 2. The squirrels have 24/7. They don't have to go to work for example. 3. They are far more motivated than you. Other way around, high phosphorous oil ruins catalytic converters. But you would have to be passing a metric shit ton of oil past your rings before that would happen. And fuck Tim for ruining my fun.

Because T6 is not rated anymore for engines that have a catalytic converter and Shell's engineers have flat out said many times don't use it.

As evidenced by my first post where I said 'So asshats, what do you think?' Yes. I really wish Sam would answer my question about his bike having a catalytic converter so I can give him some un-requested advice and turn this into a proper oil thread.

That is how I have always done it.

So, I have always gone under the assumption that the engineers that design whatever bike I own are smarter than me and I follow their guidance. I am questioning that assumption now. First oil change on the Wing is 4k, which I did before our trip. Got home with 9200 on it so I automatically order the oil and filter and went out to do it tonight. Was looking at the scheduled maintenance before starting and it is not due for a change until 12k. 4k first then every 8k. And on top of that.....filter change every other time. And this is on Dino oil. So asshats, what do you think?
