He wants you to bleed it and fix it first, then do his test. If it goes to the floor it most probably means the master cylinder is bad, it is bypassing. And that would be the source of the air that is slowly getting into the system. It is bypassing and letting in a little air each time you use it...takes months to build up enough air to fail.

On 9/20 BMW issued as stop sale/delivery of all 1600's. Problem with the shift fork. Looks like a recall on 17,18 and 19's is coming to fix them all.

That has always been my theory on house selling/buying. Down or up market does not matter unless you are substantially upsizing or downsizing.

Getting to the point where you could buy it now and flip it in the spring for a tidy profit.

There is some truth to what @NinjaDoc says, there are times when it is useful. I paired up with @ricer1 once, we were southbound on 148. At the very beginning of our run down it we caught this super slow old lady, I got a break with a straight to get around her but John got caught behind her. I was able to gap her and call back to John when it was clear for him to corner pass her. Going back to my comment earlier about shooting people that pair with me. I would like to point out that the very next day after that ride John was dead. True story.

Move aside amateurs.
