I brought a broken bike back from Canada in a U-Haul once. It is not fun, you feel alone...lost...hopeless. It really sucks until you get across the river.
I will.
Look, the FJR is a great long distance bike that eats curvy roads for lunch. Just watch which gen you get so younger the abs and fancy suspension. If I was solo I would probably be on one....if they still made them.
What do you want this next bike to do?
Ok, got lots of miles on it now. It is awesome. F' that factory seat. Had to raise the passenger foot pegs, there is a really slick bracket available for that. While I am thrilled I think the wife is more thrilled. Backrest is very comfy she says and the giant arm rests are her favorite part.
It also looks wonderful, it adds an elegance to the bike. Driver backrest just pops out of you don't want it.
Only downside is it does not use the factory controls for the heated seat, it has its own buttons on the side.
Based on the pics, I would say it will be closed for awhile.

If you go to Vegas for a hacker convention with two laptops, chargers, cables, keyboard, mouse, USB hub and an electric razor in your checked baggage the TSA is going to take a look.
I am ok with that.
She doesn't have 400 dollars because she is retired. I still work, the lack of money was a joke about her not working and I do. We can afford a new tire, and it is already on the rim.
