200K or so Nav'ing with my phone, never owned a waterproof one. Never had one go bad. Problem with the S8 is the updates are too slow to be released. Good and bad no matter what choice you make.

Screen burn in is kind of a BS story. It's image retention of the nav bar, not burn in. Very typical of AMOLED screens. I am sure the noise issue is software and will be fixed next update. The blue tint at an angle thing is a big deal. I can't imagine using it on my bikes handlebars for Nav with that issue. Doubt that is fixable. If I were buying today I would grab a deal on a Pixel 1, or an S8. Still betting you will stick with Iphone though.
