  1. Noted. Although you won't ride with me anymore, that still hurts. Never looked at it that way, that is an excellent observation.
  2. So, I am hooked and it is decision time. Rider coach took me aside yesterday and said 'Don't push that bike any more, you are pushing the suspension as far as you can. The rear is working too hard, I can see it when I follow you' This was after he watched me slide it sideways through 8. I rolled on too soon and too hard. Now, as I get better and smoother I might be able to squeeze a bit more out of it but he is right, few more track days and I will be going as quick as I can on this bike. I should also add, my street riding of a sport/sporty bike is going to be very limited. Even the FZ6 is killing my body, specifically my neck from having it angled up like you have to. I injured it pretty good when I was young, arthritis is setting in. I have no problems at the track with it, 20 minutes on and 40 off more or less and it can handle that, zero pain. But a whole day on the street is killing me. So as we ponder this, street riding is of little to no concern. Option 1. Convert the FZ6. Rear set. clip ons, really good rear shock is available and decent front forks for about a grand. So I would have 3800 total in the bike and upgrades. (Not counting trailer, lap timer, gopro, gps, tire warmers, generator and an umbrella babe as those costs will come with any bike). I figure in the spring I can flip the FZ6 for 3K. Option 2. Flip the FZ6 and grab a 600 SS in the 4K range. Option 3. Flip the FZ6 and grab a liter bike in the 4k range. Lets debate the three options as they are, then we can start a 'which best bike for option 2 or 3' later. I am pretty sure what I am going to do, but am curious what the masses here think.
  3. So, if I go Sept 11th and 12th I can be in for this.
  4. That is actually option 2 in my original list.
  5. The old popcorn might be full of asbestos depending upon it's age. 1977 was the ban on that. So if it is older than that, I would leave it alone.
  6. 2B) Attach the new ceiling straight through the old plaster directly to the joists.
  7. Tell her you think it's a great idea and can't wait for her to get started. Now, if she want's opinions on how best to do it...in order of my preference. 1) Gut the ceiling and do it right. 2) Frame out over the old ceiling making sure your new frame is into solid joists. 3) Attach it to the old ceiling and buy the entire family hard hats, with a few spares for visitors.
  8. You're welcome my son. There was an H4 in the garage next to us yesterday. Amazing machine.
  9. It's a derogatory term, and if the circumstances in this situation have been correctly described it is the proper term to use.
  10. So I wrote a post last night thanking everyone for the great time yesterday. Apparently Casper's shit is broke again. So, thanks gang, it was a blast.
  11. Get the hitch mount. Then you can come to the track and be our tire bitch.
  12. Terrible choice and an irresponsible use of your money.
  13. Did someone hack your account? You never spend money like this.
  14. I just heard its gonna be pretty busy. Novice is full.
  15. I can have you tech'd in 15 minutes.
  16. Pure genius. For 400 bucks you can put a rear set and clip ons on the FZ6 and be in the same seating position as a supersport. Then you will know how it feels at the end of the day. https://www.amazon.com/2004-2009-Yamaha-Danmoto-Billet-Rearsets/dp/B00OZ1EPGK http://www.motosport.com/vortex-clipons?mmy=yamaha%3Bfz6%3B2006&mmy_source=pdp
  17. Awesome! Cya in the morning man. I feel sad for Izzy though. She deserves to stretch her legs after years of going slow.
  18. Mods here suck. They should have locked it.
  19. I dont know how far you took it apart. So from your response I assume you left the pack alone. So my theory is invalid.
  20. I also think you should bail and prep Izzy. You had issues last time, and now this uncertainty. Walk away until you can get it all sorted out for sure before you throw a 200 track day at it.
  21. Don't know this bike, but most of these issues are caused by the clutch pack not in right. Almost always. Plates in upside down, wrong order...all of that is usually what it is.
  22. Considering the back, shoulder and wrist issues I would be looking at an FZ10 or FZ09. All the power and performance but the seating position you are used to. But that isn't what you asked, you asked for something similar to the R6. So why not a mid- 2000's used R6. 04's and 5's can be had all day long with few miles for 4K or so. If it doesn't work you can sell it for pretty much what you paid. If it does work out you can keep it, or sell it for what you paid and go buy a new one if that is your preference. Especially if you buy now in the fall when prices are deflated..make your decision and sell in the spring.
  23. No balls or boobs on that shirt so I am gonna pass. It is very cool though.

    Well?

How did it go @tall_tracy ? We need deets, pics and video damn it. Grande Mocha? I didn't realize it was today or I would have come out, thought it was Monday. Would have been way cooler than painting the garage.
