  1. Yup, everything I've read about the 2013 says the new chassis/handling are spot on. Some even dared to say the best money can currently buy. Personally, I don't see the Fly-by-wire being a big advantage on a 600. Wheelie control isn't a need, traction control isn't as big of a deal, and these bikes have such smooth engine characteristics that Triumph has said they just haven't felt the need to do it. In a comparo vs. the MV F3 which does have f-b-w, everyone said they would take the 675's engine control and smoothness over the F3 any day. I'll certainly be looking forward to the RidersDiscount 2013 675R build thread when they get those going!
  2. Sounds like fun, and I'd love to get professional instruction but sadly I've got more things I want to do than I have vacation days or money to do them.
  3. Also believe they went to titanium valves for a lighter valvetrain, different cam specs, and higher redline by 400 rpm. Stronger in the high rpm without sacrificing anything in the low-mid range.
  4. That's the spirit! Haven't you already won a novice 600 championship? By the current standards shouldn't you already be running with the experts? Let the sandbagger comments begin.
  5. Obviously I'm a little biased but I think the 675 is one of the better looking 600's you can get, and one of the best for street riding with a much more usable power band. You can find 06-08 models in the $4-6k range all the time. Sold my 07 for 5500 last summer.
  6. Are you taking pictures Marty? Or just going for the gang bang?
  7. Hmm, if you guys decided to leave later on Friday (I work till 5 but could probably sneak out a bit earlier) and were just doing Saturday I would probably commit. I just know I'm spending a bunch of money on a few long distance trips I have planned already.
  8. Do it! (But don't bring me into that coversation.)
  9. Sort of like winning the special olympics isn't it? At the end of the day, you're still retarded! You are probably the "1-2 others" that he was talking about. And possibly myself?
  10. Good work, you'll appreciate it when it's done and have a deeper, more meaningful relationship with your bike!

You nailed it. Don't be a squid, buy another bike.
  12. Feeling sad that John hasn't mentioned me or my little asian friend in this converstion yet. I have a lot of weekends planned already aside from Moto Series rounds, but Grattan is a must at least once this year. Might enjoy going later in the summer for better weather though. Will see when it gets a little closer.
  13. Lowering link and properly adjusted forks to keep the rake/trail in the right neighborhood and she should be good to go on just about any sportbike.
  14. Damn, he's lucky he didn't go off a few feet further down the road after that guardrail. The camera guy was seriously lucky as well. I thought Ninja 250/300's were the perfect starter bikes? Guess it's maybe not so much the bike as the rider and roads.
  15. Sadly, he probably won't listen but you tried. I'll keep an eye out for the wrecked bike at the insurance auctions this summer.
  16. Interesting stats if you consider 100,000 threads, 1,000,000 posts, by 10,000 users. Average thread has only 10 posts. Average user has only 100 posts.
  17. FTFY, just wanted to make sure everyone knew what you would be riding.
  18. I vote for this, we need reviews now!
  19. So what you're trying to tell me is you had sex...with a girl? I'm not buying it.
  20. He (she?) is not friendly. I've encountered it a time or two outside and it either runs away, or growls. I startled it one time at night, I was outside and rounded the corner of my house rather quickly and there it was. We had a 2-3 minute showdown where if I moved it would growl and show its teeth. Finally it walked in a circle a few times and took off. I would have walked over and said something immediately, but at that point I didn't know what house it belonged too. Then months went by without me seeing it. It is out more and more often though.
  21. He's a pretty cool looking little guy. Sadly I would never have the time to take care of him with my work travel.
  22. Of course that is the logical option and the one I will probably go with. But that's not very fun do discuss.
  23. Now there's the best idea I've heard yet!
  24. Haha nice. Surprised that my gf hasn't put that one on my fb. She puts all kinda crap like that on there.
