Michael just brought home an 03 Honda Shadow Spirit. Eventually it will be solely MY bike. For now, it's ours. I am taking the class in April and I'm hoping to ride every chance I get. My problem is that we have a 4 year old so I can't ride everytime I want to. I eventually want to put him on my bike. Fully geared and safe, of course, but my problem is....we can't seem to find what the laws are for children on motorcycles. Does anyone have any websites or know the rule of thumb for putting your children on your bike?? I want to get out there and ride all the time, but I can't as a stay at home Mom. I'd like to learn what the rules are and where to find child sized gear etc. so I can get out there more often. Any help you have would be great!! Thanks! ---Sara

I have six tattoos...pictures coming soon...I'm thinking about getting another one with some of my refund money and I'm looking for suggestions...so if anyone has any ideas or websites I can look at, that would be great!

I have to politely disagree with those who say this thread is dumb etc. While the women who are members of OR definitely know their stuff, there is a large majority of women who do simply think that motorcycles are dangerous, loud etc. I even thought so before I actually got on one and rode...and he makes a good point about men wanting their women to know things about motorcycles when men typically (again I'm not sterotyping ALL men) could care less about the things that women are interested it. I think he makes a good point, perhaps this was just not the group of people to make it. Everyone on OR is so deeply imbedded into motorcycles and the various lifestyles associated with motorcycles, it can sometimes be difficult to see things from a different perspective. I have to give him credit for pointing it out. It's not like he was being offensive toward anyone, just making a statement....we're all entitled to do that here, aren't we?

Grandpa was wearing a fanny pack....that was about the only funny thing I saw. Why is it so incredible that two men got in a fight?? Men are idiots...it happens...and why on Earth didn't anyone try to stop it? Apparently women and bus drivers are idiots too.

He was making a statement, I get that...but realistically are laws going to change in the aftermath of his deviance? I doubt it. The most that will be done is the IRS will use reinforced steel and bullet proof glass when rebuilding their offices...maybe start keeping them underground. So, what exactly did he accomplish?

He sounds like one of those tube toys...the ones with the little plastic disk inside that make it laugh like that...it was funny. I didn't laugh out loud though...so it wasn't really that funny...he certainly doesn't deserve his own website in my opinion. The girl was sort of funny, but her laugh is mostly just annoying.

Reminds me of MY Dad who just turned 70, he rode a Harley once...and came just short of crashing it between a couple of trees...that was the end of his riding days...although he's 6'8...not exactly a great fit for a Harley. That's an incredible piece of history! Thanks for sharing!
