They are "standard position" (as are a lot of the tourings), heels are (for the most part) directly below your hips, personally I'm not a big fan, my knees aren't wonderful so I like to be able to keep them straighter.

Personal preference would be the Raider. Have you looked at the Vulcan? Depending on year they are anywhere between 1500 and 2000 cc, styling is similar to the Raider but less swept on the tank (see my pictures if you want a sense, mine's an 800 but they all look very similar if you get the custom editions). IMO the M109 is too bastardized... tries to be retro from the tank back, and futuristic from tank forward.... I just don't like it, but if you're looking for the futuristic take a look at the VMax I fucking love that bike... Either way, all of this is just my opinion! What do you like best for style, Retro? Chopper? Spaceship? What's more important, style or power, mix of both? What kind of features do you want? FI, SoftTail, luggage? And seriously..... WHAT'S COMFORTABLE?! I can't stress that enough, I wish someone warned me when I bought my cruiser it's NOT a couch... it's much more comfortable than a sport bike (only my opinion) but what feels good on the floor quickly starts hurting. But lastly, let me know when you get your cruiser, we'll go for a nice ride , we could meet up in Canton or you can come up closer to me and do a ride through the Canal Way.

I wonder if local cities are allowed to override the state law... can't find anything in the code about authorities having the right to set their own limits (like noise levels). The moment someone has enough power to, essentially, enforce WHATEVER they see fit they have become corrupt. Yeah, your buddy didn't break the law.... but now he has to go fight it. Officers have too much lateral movement... "that tint is not legal" Officer, Ohio allows 50%, here's a receipt for the tint job showing 50% "doesn't look like 50% here's your ticket because you pissed me off" I'm sorry, I have the utmost respect for people that put their lives on the line for us, but it scares me how powerful our PEACE OFFICERS have gotten.

Does anyone know where to find, or have some experience with Ohio inspections? My buddy built a bike and he's freaking out about inspection. He's custom fabricated a good part of it and he said the state highway patrol has a recording that says you need to have receipts for everything.... Anywhere you can direct me to? I know there is the "what's required in Ohio" stuff like daytime running lamps for newer bikes, turn signals, handlebars <15"... but there are state laws governing how bright lights are and all that jazz. Thanks in advance!

Finally got the wife on the back! She didn't want to go for a ride without us both having helmets but she got over that and wore mine... So aside from the "how could you ride without all your gear!?!?" it was a really strange feeling. Definitely took it way slow (I agreed nothing over 25) but I was nervous just riding straight, I think I was nervous because I was directly responsible for her safety. Nervousness aside, we both liked the ride, definitely different riding 2 up, but cool to share the experience!

Hey Squidy, as much as I'd like to say that was me (cool story) it was not. But I'd be happy to share a coke with you. @lpj: I really like it, it's my first bike and my first time riding. Only think I'd change about it would be the chain... very noisey, I was riding around the block last night (first time no helmet) and I'm surprised to know a lot of the noise I was hearing through my helmet was in fact, the chain. I do a fair amount of highway commuting, and back roads riding. She does a great job with both, I'm surprised...

Thanks. Photoshop. Added an adjustment layer, desaturated, brushed the red parts with a black brush :-D It's one of those "oh.. duh" things, I was trying crazy things, using colored filters, cutting pieces out and making them new layers... finally one my friends goes "here, do this" and 5 minutes later it's done, been using the method ever since. Edit: I just looked up Color Splash, I thought it was a photo tool, didn't realise it was an iPhone app. So, no, used Photoshop.
