  1. Peaceful? Sure, I am not going to try to refute that assertion, but there is a certain irony in the Sikh requirement that its followers to carry a knife at all times... Google "Kirpan".
  2. +1 Same cast of characters, they just disagree on who's the most important. Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?
  3. I watched it live (look at my post time! ) Pretty amazing to listen in to the engineers as they discussed the phases of the landing as it happened (or as the radio signals arrived, more accurately...) "Tango Delta Nominal" was the report that we were waiting for.
  4. The crickets have access to rep?
  5. Beware - if that signed title gets into someone else's hands then you could have quit a mess to clean up.
  6. Just landed safe. First two images arrived showing the rover is intact.
  7. If the cop was smart he'd not put himself in harm's way over a parking ticket. If the driver was smart he'd have let the officer write the ticket then be on his way. As for how it turned out, I'm on the officer's side 100%.

  9. Is that an assumption, or are there reports of religious bias?

  12. Or was that rule #19 for him? "These 18 women should not know about each other..."
  13. Here's a pic of me at my first Patriot Guard ride. I'm on the bike in black helmet.
  14. Simple request... Go to a protested funeral. Then decide. I rode with the Patriot Guard to Flushing MI and stood between the Wetboro Bastards Church and the family. I stared hatred in the eye expecting it to anger me, but all i felt was pity for the low-level WBC plebs who are utterly devoid of their own opinion and utterly brainwashed by Fred Felch. I stood with old and young, military and non-military, locals and outsiders, family and strangers. I took my place in line with my flag and my hand on a heavy heart as the family drove Joshua Youmans to his final peace. When you see unadulterated hatred in a delusional stranger, and then witness the utter, utter despondent grief in a mother's eyes as she accompanies her child to his grave.... THEN you tell me what you think about protesting funerals. I get the constitutional arguments, and I agree. I get the privacy arguments, and i agree. We NEED a middle ground. We need to provide those who are grieving the chance to do so in peace. We NEED to hold our constitution is the highest regard. What is the answer? Neither extreme is. There has to be a compromise possible. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
  15. We have freedom of speech... Why not the freedom to not listen? Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2

  17. HR347 is pair of a minor language updates to an existing law that predates Obama. - It changes the bar for "intent" from "willfully and knowingly" to just "knowingly", so they don't have to prove you knew the area was off limits - Adds, as stated above, the White House and the Vice President's house to the list of restricted areas. The law already existed. http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/restricted.asp
  18. Shotguns are legal for sport or work. Anything that holds 3 rounds or less (chamber+mag, our double-barrel) can be held on a shotgun license and higher mags need a full gun license. Bolt-action hunting rifles re legal too. The three key things that are illegal are pistols, semi-auto anything and the entire concept of owning a gun for self defense. You need to prove you need a shotgun to get a shotgun license (game warden, vermin control, sport shooting etc) and you cannot store in it a way that it is accessible for self-defense (ammo and gun must be in separate safes, and you must agree to random searches of your gun safes by the police to ensure your are in compliance) TBH I'd rather get shot with a semi-auto 22 than a shotgun, but that's just me. A 22 might make you bleed out or die before you can get to the hospital if they get a lucky shot, but a shotgun will leave a cavity the size of a canteloupe
  19. That's the name of the sport, right? Shooting. At the Olympics. Olympic Shooting - Schedule, Results, Medals | London 2012 How depressing that when an British person hears "Olympic Shooting" they think of the sport of shooting, and an American thinks of mass murder... What does that tell you about the state of gun violence in the US?
  20. Am I the only one surprised that the Men's double-trap event was won by a Brit, and that there were no Americans even in the final? At least Hancock won the skeet shoot.
  21. It already did. This is a rider on another bill that has been finely crafted to avoid the constitutional problems that SCOTUS highlighted with previous attempts.
  22. Title 6 here: http://veterans.house.gov/hr1627 Passed Congress. Obama is expected to sign it.
  23. That pic has a date with my FB account.
  24. If only. I'm descended from the Irish via Scotland and the Royals are all German. Why do you think we call Princess Micheal "Princess Heinkel"??
