It's not a zing if you have to say "zing"... That's like laughing at your own jokes or kissing your own sister.

Watched the Women's Judo yesterday. Lots of girls wrestling in PJs, basically. Not as entertaining (from a MA persective) as I thought it would be. Two Korean coaches were booted, one of them flipped a rude gesture at the judge that was caught on TV but I've heard nothing about that. It is amazing to me how far removed Olympic Judo is from real-world fighting. I know that point-scoring sport MA's (like TKD) tend to train fighters to land a technique and then stop fighting, which is bad news in the street, but Judo is even worse... 5 seconds of stalemate = stop and reposition? So Judoka train that if the fight isn't going their way they drop to the floor and turtle up. "Try that in a bar fight!" I'd like to see Judo rules changed to say that if some person is clearly dominant (and still fighting) and the other person is submissive (and is motionless) upon breaking a stalemate then the dominant fighter gets a minor point. I used to play Badminton in college so I was interested in that, but seeing 8 players booted for "not trying" has dampened my enthusiasm. Look forward to checking out the Taekwondo, though. Do they do JuJitsu? I'll have to check.

Until the government owns and controls the means of production of goods, it ain't socialism.

Apologies... I don't know you and your post looked just like the true anti-gun folks here... Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2

If "News" gets autocorrected to "Jews" then I hope you never try to type "trigger job".

How long before 3d printers are as ubiquitous as inkjet or laser printers? Regular printers have revolutionized things like coupons, tickets, boarding passes, mailing labels, tax forms etc... All just data. I can see 10-15 years from now simple one-material car parts like brackets, mounts, coolant recovery tanks etc will be "printed" at the car dealership on demand. No need for shipping parts or stocking stuff. 30 years from now, people will all have 3d printers at their homes that can build complex multi-component parts from metal and plastic. You want the latest action figure for your kid's christmas present? Don't buy it and have it shipped - pay the a $5 licensing fee for a on-time download/use of the "printing" file and print that sucker right at home. Need a new radiator for your car? Print it. Complex electronics are tougher to envisage, but think back 30 years and what we had then to what we had now and look at the difference. Back in 1980 you were luck if you had ABS brakes in your car, and now you can have a car that will start itself, park itself, phone home with maintenance data and warn you when parts need to be replaced, will tell the police where they are if they are stolen and allow the police to shut off the engine to prevent high-speed chases, they will cruise along on the freeway and adapt to the speed of traffic automatically, they will warn you if you start to drift out of your lane, they will prevent themselves from going out of control (ESP), and will prevent common accidents (volvo)... Where will we be 30 years from now?

My biggest problem with commercial gyms is billing practices on long contracts. Let me go month-to-month, or I'll train at home. Don't say; "Sure, we'll cancel your contract" over the phone then keep billing me because I didn't cancel in writing... If the contract automatically goes to month-to-month after the initial term then walk away. If they give you crap for wanting to start month-to-month then walk away.

I'm telling the teacher.

Way to make friends, buddy. Ever considered that some of us own guns and are trained fighters too?

A 1000-round reporting limit wouldn't have stopped the Colorado shooter if it had been in effect at the time... He would have just purchased smaller amounts in more transactions. Plus, he needed less than 100 rounds to carry out the massacre. I buy my ammo in person unless it is specialty (subsonic .22 for example). Still, I don't see this passing.

About 165m gun owners in the US, not 80m, according to my numbers. Which makes your point even more valid.

It's an indie film based upon Tolkien's appendices to LOTR. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1301303/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Born_of_Hope

The bike HAS a title. The last titled owner. How did the titled owner come to part ways with the bike? And why did the title stop following the bike? Think of it this way, if you turn a blind eye to the history of this bike there could very well be a fellow rider out there it was stolen from. If it is presented to you as all legal and above-board then go get the vin and go to your local police to confirm it is not stolen. If the seller won't let you come and see the vin the don't buy it. I don't get two counts of murder per victim... Unless they only intend for him to be convicted of one per victim and the two charges relate to two different mindsets. One may be more serious than the other, with the lower charge a "lesser included offense" that the jury can find him guilty on even if they don't agree with the more serious charge... I was thinking today and this struck me... Moderate: The political philosophy that you know will never be supported by either party, so you can never vote for the president you want, just the president that sucks the least. (Show me a pro-choice, pro-gun candidate that will preserve welfare for those that truly need it can kick the moochers off it on his first day in office - THAT'S the president I will vote for...) Discuss.

I was thinking today and this struck me... Republican: The political philosophy wherein you should not be able to prevent pregancy (birth contorl, plan B, pro-life) and you should be denied any support in raising the child that you knew you couldn't support on your own (loss of job to care for child, welfare reform) Discuss.
-
I was thinking today and this struck me... Democrat: The political philosophy wherein it's ok to kill an unborn baby in the womb (pro choice), but not a violent felon in the act (gun control). Discuss.

You know her? You know she cannot pay?

Why is it a waste of taxpayer dollars? This is civil litigation with courts costs being paid by one or both of the parties to the case.

Agreed - Ohio has individual immunity (Does castle doctrine apply at your place of work?) But this is a Negligent Supervision case, and I don't know the details of any business immunity Indiana might have. Kroger's failure to enforce their no-guns policy is the issue, so the statewide individual lawsuit protection does not appear to apply here. Some problems: 1) They would have to prove negligence. The simple fact that the gun was in the building does not mean that Kroger was negligent. To be negligent they would have to act in a way that shows they failed to consider a given risk that a normal person/company would have considered, and failed to take reasonable steps to enforce the no guns policy. Problem is that other than a ban on guns what other steps should they have taken? Metal Detectors? Searches of employees? Ball-grabbing TSA folks at the staff entrance (if you know what I mean) Unless they have a copy of company memo showing management were aware that this guy carried a gun and chose to do nothing about... Even then... 2) Kroger could have chosen to NOT ban guns and that would still have been legally ok. Specifically allowing their staff to carry, or simply taking no position on the issue, would leave them in no legal jeopardy as they are allowing something that is legal to do. It's not like they are allowing CC in a non-CC state. 3) Ohio provides civil immunity to the owners of property whether they ban or not. Does Indiana have this rule? If so then this lawsuit should be dismissed on those grounds alone. Ironically, if Kroger had allowed guns, or taken no position, there could be no "Negligent Supervision". As such, this lawsuit sends out a message that banning guns leaves you liable for not eradicating them. NOT banning guns leaves you safe. Wonder if any companies will drop their bans because of this.
