Where was that again? And at what time?

I'd definitely give this one a miss. HOWEVER... When I sold my bike I couldn't get the title notarized without a seller. The guy came to my house, checked out the bike, I had a bill of sale printed up (two copies) we both signed both. I got cash, he got the bike. He filled his name in on the title (no lien) and I had it notarized the next day and mailed it to him. Not having the title in your hand as you leave is not a dealbreaker for me - but you MUST check out the title, compare the VIN. Only the owner (both, if joint) can signed the title - and it must be notarized in his (or their) presence. If the title is in Mr.Iraq's name then no dice - the bike cannot be sold to you without a notarized power of attorney. Lien + seller not present = No thanks. Can you confirm the police officer's identity? Get a name and dept and call the dept (using a number you find yourself, not one he gives you) EDIT: RUN AWAY. If the bike has a lien on it then he can't transfer into his wife's name... I've tried that. Doesn't work. Tried to transfer vanity from my old taurus to my newer maxima but the dealership screwed up the maxima paperwork and put the loan/title/registration in just my wife's name instead of joint names. Plate was joint names, new car was her name only - the BMV couldn't transfer the plate. The loan company would not let me add myself to the title. Finally just surrendered the vanity plate at the BMV with my wife there and they registered the plate to my wife only, which matched the new car.

Gesture Backstories... - We all know the middle finger. Teh penor. - The Britsh "Sticking 2's up" is rumoured to come to from English archers taunting the french (who would cut off those two fingers of caputured English archer before sending them home) but that is disputed. - Thailand (That guy's thumb is HUGE - or mine is tiny) Means "stick your thumb up your..." - In Greece one palm is an obscene gesture. The "Moutza". Two palms is worse, The 'moutza' stems from an ancient Byzantine practice whereby a chained criminal or prisoner of war was paraded around town and have his face spread with cinders, dirt and/or faecal matter to humiliate him. Cinders, in medieval Greek, were called 'moutzos'. And, because cinders were wiped onto the person's face by first collecting it in the palm and then spreading it with open fingers, this gesture itself became insulting and known as 'moutza' after the name of the material applied. - In Turkey this is called the Fig. It's means... Well... Fig off. Displaying soles of the feet is just as bad. - In the Phillipines (and many aisan countries) you shouldn't beckon people by curling your finger. You are calling them a dog. (This is used to beckon dogs, not people) - In France this means "You are nothing, a zero" - In Vietnam this represents female gentialia. - The Italians must hate going to US rock concerts. This means "Your wife is cheating on you"

I'm sure the final meet place/time is buried in the thread somewhere... But can someone put in the first post so we can find it easily? I see Logan Lodge 2551 South U.S. Highway 68, Urbana, OH 43078. What time? Still 12-6?

Can't divide by zero, dude.

Got mine in Delware county when it first came out. Renewed 2 years ago (good until 2014) Both times it was a 1 week turnaround. They get confused with mine because my prior addresses include two in England. I have a "Police Letter" from England (A printout of my criminal record) which says; "No criminal record" in case things get ugly. I have to redo my training for next time. Yuck.

In the UK once you have worked for a year at a company you cannot be fired without just cause. If you are fired for an unfair reason then you can claim back pay and even demand your job back (dunno why anyone would want that job back though). Same rules apply as here... Layoffs are ok, but no firing based upon gender/race/age etc. Violence/Gross misconduct IS a valid reason to fire someone etc, but insubordination requires progressive discipline. So any reason that a legitimate company woudl fire you for woudl be fair game in the UK - but you can't be fired because you get a new boss who hates the sports team you support. So once you have a job and have been there for a year, keep your nose clean and the job is yours for life if you want it. (assuming no layoffs)

My wife's car is registered in my name. She knows that any officer pulling her over will be advised that the registered owner has a CHL, and for the sake of simplicity she will actively inform that she does not have a CHL and she has no weapons. I've only had one interaction with police while carrying - I informed; "I am required by law to inform you that I have a CHL and I am currently armed." Took him a few seconds to think - lookedliek he thought I was threatening him, then he asked for my permit and DL and it all went fine from there. I had called in a burglar alarm going off at my neighbor's house. Another occasion someone smashed a couple of mailboxes on the street and my CCTV caught some crappy footage. I called it in anyhow. No mention was ever made of CCW (I was not carrying) and finally the officer ran my DL ("In God we trust, everyone else goes through the computer.") I was standing outside his cruiser window as he ran me through his computer and I saw the big red alert show up. I asked if that was my CHL status. He said yup. I said I didn't inform because I wasn't carrying and he said it wasn't a problem.

I once went to the emergency room with a cut on my index finger and middle fingers - cut down the bone while working on a car., Was at the ER for 4 hours. They talked about maybe suturing it, and finally decided to splint the fingers and use "sterile cyanoacrylate". I said; "You're gonna crazy glue my fingers back together?" "Yup!" (worked great, no scars even) The bill was about $2500. The first EOB came. Claim denied due to lack of information from the ER. The insurance compnay had not received the "ER Face Sheet" and "ER Notes". I called the hospital and claimed to have sent them. The hospital refused to talk directly to the insurance, and the insurance refused to talk to the hosptial - not even on a 3-way call. I had to flip between calling the hospital and the insurance. Took a few weeks to figure out that the hospital had sent the ER Notes and ER Face Sheet to an old address for the insurance company - The old address was on my insurance card. I had them resend the ER Face Sheet and ER Notes to the new address. Next EOB came in. Only paid 50% becuase; "you did not pre-certify the visit or get a referral from your PCP". I argue that it was an ER visit after hours and I didn't need to precertify ER visits. They said they didn't kow it was an ER visit - despite spending weeks arguing about not getting the ER Face Sheet and ER Notes. Had to go back between the hospital and insurance (wouldn't talk to each other) and figured out that the hospital billing department fat-fingered the billing code and made it look like a specialist consult. Next EOB Came in. Benefits still not paid in full becuase the doctor and hospital were in network but the person who read my x-ray was not, so hi spart of the benefit was paid out at 70% not 90% but it was all assigned to my out-of-network deductible. I had met my in-network deductible already. Insurance said I was responsible for determining the network status of anyone who treats me. This is a huge problem with labwork. If your provider doesn't take you insurance network into account he may send the labwork to the 'wrong' lab and you wind up paying for them out-of-network. This kind of thing continued through 3 more cycles. After a year of fighting I let the last $100 go. Wasn't worth figting over. My brother cut his finger down to the bone in the UK back in 1990. Went to the ER. Was there 4 hours. Got 7 stitches, was sent home. Total out of pocket - zero. -

Am I the only one who thinks the EOB should really be called a JNB? It's not an Explanation of Benefits... It's a Justification of No Benefits. -

Are you on a HDHP? That's my in-network family deductible. My out-of-network family deductible is $8000. Best insurance I had was with my previous company. They had a 4k deductible then everything after was covered 100%. And the company paid into a free HRA that covered 3k of the deductible. My annual max out-of-pocket healthcare costs were $1k. Once that frist $1k was spent the rest of the year was just like being in the UK - go to doctor, get healthcare, never worry about the bill becuase my insurance covered everything. And that was a PPO - not HMO. -
I don't think they're bargained-for for public workers - they are federal holidays. I used to work for a bank, was not part of any union and still got MLK and Veteran's day. Banks follow fed holidays too.

500 isn't the deductible - that's the 250 ER fee plus 20% of the services (80% reimbursement rate). My deductible is $4000. -

Do you have an EPO, PPO or HMO? -
Demands renewable energy. Opposes solar panels and windmills becuase they are "ugly"

It's common for the defense to request that a case be dismissed as soon as the prosecution rests it's case-in-chief on the grounds of "insufficient evidence" or similar. Like a big fat ugly drunk guy asking a hot chick to go home with him. It's a long shot but there's nothing to lose so why not give it a try. It'll get rejected almsot every time. In this case the judge agreed - the prosecutor failed to make his case, failed to even make the judge think "This guy could be guilty, but let's hear his side first..."
-
w00t!! You know the charge was a bag of crap when the judge dismisses it before the defense even puts it case on.
