  1. Wasn't that Osprey crash a fatality? What about the gunner in the first video?
  2. More disturbing when he put his hand there first, looked, and moved his hand to a better place... They can't be gay... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-483746/We-dont-gays-Iran-Iranian-president-tells-Ivy-League-audience.html
  3. DUI needs to mandatory year in jail, doubled for subsequent offenses. DUI and kill someone should be life.
  4. What impact does that have on your recovery? Do you need intervention, or rest?
  5. I didn't watch the video but I'll accept the majority opinion that it was excessive. The press release from the father is quite telling too. If she was going to release the video then she should have done so before 7 years passed. If she only released it now to get back at her father for cutting her financial support (for dropping out of college) then all her credibility goes out of the window. If she did this to hurt him for the loss of financial supprt then... I hope she isn't expecting his financial support to resume after she gets him fired. It's a totally f'ed up situation and it appears they deserve each other.
  6. Finally had a chance to try and recreate the pic. I used my Droid because it has a flash right next to the lens (Tried to a camera that has the lens sticking out like an SLR camera but the flash effect was not a brilliant white) All I did was hold a leaf up close to the lens so that the flash lit it up. Original image: My image: Remember the original flash would have been much brighter than the white LED in my droid. Close? The main differences I see are that the orignal white blotch is quite well defined whereas mine is more blurry at the edges. This could be due to the difference in how the two cameras achieve focus - a large physical lens moving versus a cheap CCD sensor.
  7. Gotta be careful though. I got a groundhog one time with my 22-250 that I call "Hog Heaven". Bipod and everything - got him sighted in and just as I pulled the trigger he stood up. The bullet took one of his legs clean off. He was running in circles (in some amount of discomfort, I'd guess) so I had to run up on him and finish him off - but I coudln't get a good shot until I was 20' away (only had two rounds, had be be sure of a good hit on the second one) Let's just say that from 20' that 4000fps 22-250 made my back yard look like a set from one of the SAW movies.

    My new cage

Just have to remember it has no better braking or cornering than a regular car - as I like to say; "This car is MUCH FASTER than pretty much any other car out there - meaning it can get me into trouble MUCH FASTER than pretty much any other can out there..."
  9. Took my boy trick-or-treating monday night. Threw on a mask and grabbed an old machete (blunted it with my bench grinder so it was safe and covered it in red paint for "blood"). Went around asking peple in a deep scottish accent; "Can I have yer head fur ma bag o'heads?" Next year I wanna do a zombie thing - but actually have my wife do a livecast of me and make a silicon appliance. Maybe I can recruit about 10-15 other zombies and do the thriller dance in the middle fo the street.

    My new cage

In the snow it is so much fun it should be illegal. It is easy to induce oversteer, and once you have it, it's equally easy to control it. I have winter tires for mine. Warning though. Traction is about tires, not which wheels are powered. So if you overcook it then... FWD = understeer = you slide into the ditch forwards RWD = oversteer = you slide into the ditch backwads AWD = half/half = you slide into the ditch sideways
  11. I did the 12 hour day at New Albany Shooting Range back when CCW was first signed into law. Heck that must have been in 2005 or something like that. They provided pistols and ammo. I shot a bunch of different pistols. I prefer SA/DA or Sa with safety off while I carry. The Bersa 380 that I carry these days is too much of a compromise towards concealability so I'm looking to u/g to an LC9.
  12. I used to get the slipper if I was bad, but at about age 6 I got slippered for soemthing I didn't do. My mother was so remorseful when she found out that she never used corporal punishment again. My wife and I are agreed that our son does not get any kind of physical punishment. He's never needed it.

I have the Legagy GT Limited. Same drivetrain, Accord-sized car rather than Civic-sized. Not as fast, but works better for me.

    Ruger LC9

I was thinking Norton Guns just south of Waldo near the state range. Got my bersa there, and my Ruger M77 MkII. My wife likes Blackwing. She's been asking for her own carry gun, so I think we to get a pair, his & hers. One can be pink with rhinestones and tassles. Dunno what she wants for hers.

    Ruger LC9

I'm looking to upgrade from my Bersa380. I like the size of the Bersa - just want a bigger cartridge. Also, the spare mag I got stovepipes the second-to-last round EVERY TIME. I have the mag marked for drill purposes only and I use it for jam clearing drills. (load 4 rounds, try to fire them off, when ti jams I have to dorp the mag/clear the jam and load the next mag and keep going. Got pretty damned fast) Still, I'm not sure I'd trust my life to this pistol - that's 5 very long seconds where no lead is going downrange. I'd prefer to do clearing drills by randomly putting those inert plastic training rounds in the mag, but that won't train me to clear a jam. Concealability is a huge issue - must be concealed, 100%. Heard a lot fo good things baout the LC9. Think I might go check one out this coming weekend. Who's best, Blackwing or Norton?
  16. Yeah, and? You can buy that from Meijer on 36/37 in Delaware. I prefer treacle pudding.
  17. http://chronicle.augusta.com/news/crime-courts/2010-11-26/shoplifting-suspect-stabs-marine Here is the suspect's booking photo from the Richmond County Jail: Does that look like he has several missing teeth, a broken nose and a broken jaw? All I can see it what appears to be a bruise near his left eye. I'm from a military family. I would need more than two hands to count relatives who've served. My baby brother saw active combat as part of the initial invasion of Basra during the Iraq war and came back with stories like watching his team's embedded BBC reporter hit by shrapnel during an insurgent mortar attack. I have travelled to Stirling, Scotland and placed my hand on the name the man who gave me my middle name, on the Cenotaph that lists local war dead. This is not about being anti-military or anything. It's just that I have enough respect for the military without having to knowingly retell an fabricated version of a real event. http://www.readthebeacon.com/about.html is the link for the newspaper that the story appeared in (The Beacon out of Williams Bay, Wisconsin, April 8th-21st issue). Here is the PDF of the actual issue it appeared in: http://www.readthebeacon.com/issue/040811.pdf (center-right of page 9) Found that from the caption of the photo above the story. The newspaper calls itself "The Beacon and Good Humor".
  18. It's not supply/demand if the demand is fake.
  19. Sorry. http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/stabbedmarine.asp
  20. You're a little late. The gangbang is over, we're just cleaning up. - He bid more than he wanted to pay, and got the high bid / met the reserve price - He retracted the bid - Somoene else bid the bike up higher than his bid and won it the next day, so the seller didn't lose anything - Well had a good laugh at him squirming for a while All's well that ends well, with a lesson learned about bidding for stuff when you don't actually want to win.
  21. That's how you rationalized your unexpected auction win? You never intended to win that laptop. Unless this following quote was untrue Kudos for making good on the auction - but you should never have been bidding on it in the first place if the win was "accidental".
