  1. Congratulations. Be safe out there.
  2. "There are old bikers, and there are bold bikers, but there are very few old, bold bikers."
  3. "Huh. Server says it's too busy. I will help improve the situation by hitting F5 a few times to force it to work even harder."
  4. This is exactly why chose to not start riding until I turned 30. I knew I had more testosterone than sense in my 20s. As soon as I reached a point where looking at a sport bike turned from; "That looks like speed heaven on wheels" to "That looks like back pain on wheels!" I knew I could get a motorbike without worrying about me doing myself in through gonad-fueled stupidity. Cagers make the roads a risky place to be already. Why would you go out of your way to make it even more dangerous??
  5. Don't get rid of the snake! (It matches the bike) You know what, I'd have that sucker taxidermied and made into new bike gloves.
  6. There's no way a phone will ship with 'buttsex' as an autocorrect word. They must have used that word themselves and saved it.
  7. Here's the thread for my Volusia, has all the pics. You won't get this much bike from a dealer for anything close to this money. http://ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=75216&highlight=Volusia If you want specific pics / angles or detail then let me know. Mileage is a little higher than in the pic, but only by a hundred or so. The thread stated $3k, but I'm now asking $2500. Not much wiggle room at that, becuase I still ride the bike and it's worth that much to me to keep it. Selling it because I just bought a V-strom a couple months ago. Selling it cheap because of recent medical bills.
  8. Dangit. I didn't get raptured. Gonna be a lot of people asking; "Can I have the money I donated to the Family Radio church back??" Their website it down, their offices are shuttered and the main guy (Mr.Camping) is gone. His ass is in heaven now. And when I say heaven, I mean sitting on a mexican beach with two suitcases full of millions of dollars in doomsday donations, drinking pina coladas and offering the barmaid "one last taste of heaven before she goes to hell..."

    Tattoos

I don't have any ink right now but I've been thinking about this one tattoo design for about 10 years now. My mother died on 2000, and the last words we spoke where when she was going in for the operation that failed to save her life. She jokingly asked if I was successful in life "because" of her in "in spite" of her. I did not answer her, uncomfortable with the poingant nature of the question. The tattoo is going to be a photo-realistic rose (her name was Rose) with a long stem and 4 branches extending from the stem. Each branch represents one of her children. On each branch there will be a number of leaves representing her grandkids My branch would have one leaf representing my son. My older brother's branch would have 2 for his two kids, etc. Space will be left so that leaves can be added as more grandkids are born. The stem will extend below the 4 branches, and there will be a vine with leaves that spirals around the stem but is not actually connected to the stem. This will represent the kids that were not hers but that she helped raise diring her many years working as the manager of a children's home. Finally, there will be a banner across the stem, right under the the head of the rose that contains one word that I should have said to her before she died. "Because"
  10. I'm selling an '04 Suzuki Volusia 800 with about ~7000 miles on it. Asking $2500. LMK if you want pics.

    squid?

I CARE!!! (I want to see what his face looks like with no teeth. Or skin. Or sinuses.)
  12. or 185mph? Well, now that I think of it my mother-in-law's car door was jammed shut after a 5mph parking lot hit - force the fender back into the door and jammed it like that. I guess it's more about the angle of the hit rather than the power.
  13. Big screen TV at the local church. They're not gonna need it after 6pm tomorrow, amirite?
  14. Gonna go rent a u-haul. Got me some post-rapture looting planned for sunday.
  15. How fast does a bike need to go for it to trap the car driver in the car? That's an actual question, not siggesting they were travelling at lightspeed.
  16. ..Or the car saw them and stopped giving the other bike time to pass, or one bike was behind the other, or one bike was at the far edge of the lane, or one bike swerved, or one bike hit the turbo-boost button and jumped over the car or... Too little infromation to go on.
  17. They may have claimed an exigency of circumstances and had a school staff member act as guardian.
  18. I've heard two different versions of the post me made. In the story he says; But the actual facebook posting that got the secret service riled up was: http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/dailyweekly/2011/05/vito_lapinta_tacoma_seventh_gr.php So now, if the secret service *didn't* follow up on that kind of posting then we'd give them hell if it actually went down. Kid has a big mouth and deserved a visit from the Secret Service. Whether they are allowed to interview him without his mother is another matter. Maybe a staff member acted as the required "guardian", I dunno. As the remedy for violating interview procedure is typically to exclude evidence gained therein, and no evidence was actually gained, he has no apparent recourse. How about this: Don't threaten to kill the president, y'punk.

    squid?

Any more on the guy on the yellow scooter? Those DOT piss pots are useless.
  20. Do you pass a car waiting on a sidestreet while you're still doign 100? Or do you slow back down to legal-ish speed?
  21. Tomorrow morning I'm headed out out in my car with the "May 21st Judgement Day" vynil wrap on it and I'll try to save as many souls as I can before 6pm. Seriously, tho. I'm going to sit on my arse all day watching TV an probably not even be aware that 6pm passed until much later, then think "Oh, no earthquakes. Fair enough."
  22. Whey are there no side streets on a freeway? Why do you think they don't allow pedestrians on the freeway? Why do so many people die trying to cross the freeway? It's because humans are terrible at judging the speed of an approaching vehicle if that vehicle is travelling 80 or faster. Their instinct is to automatically dismiss the vehicle as a non-threat based upon distance. Again, though, nobody said the bikes were doing 100mph. I just gave that as an example of a speed that was too fast to judge.
  23. In the UK they have average speed cameras. Lots of cameras on a freeway, etc, where they record your license plate and time/location. Next time you pass a camera (couple miles later) they figure out your average speed and if it's above the speed limit for the road then you get a love letter from the local police station. Used mostly in contruction zones. I can tell you that they are VERY effective at keeping traffic at the speed limit. I've been in and out of the UK several times over the last 3 years and whenever I see the avergae speed cameras EVERYONE is obeying the limit. Thinkign back to when I lived there full time... The UK motorway limit is 70 and the police woouldn't bother you uless you were over 85. 90+ is definitely a ticket and 100+ is most likely going to be a suspension. One time I was doing about 100mph on the M25 around London, about the same speed as the subaru in front of me, but 4 seconds behind. Cop comes racing up behind me and gives me the blue lights. I start to pull over and he races past me. I figure he's gonna get the subaru. Nope. Bullies him out the way the keeps on going. Not like we were hurting anyone. Not racing or anything, nobody else around. Cop didn't see us as worth pulling over. Definitely counldn't do that speed here - the freeway surface is too rough and people don't stick to the slow lanes. But, I did get a ticket for 56 in 50 zone from a camera soon after that.
  24. Arizona plates = RedFlex traffic systems. They run most of the red light / speed cameras.
