  1. About 150 for the 80% lower. 100 for the drilling jig. Need a bench press and a thread tap big enough for the stock/buffer tube. Looks to be an hour or two of work to complete.
  2. Only option right now is an 80% lower
  3. Put away the tinfoil hat - combining the AWB and fiscal cliff fixup is likely to happen. If the dems manage to get an AWB then they'll get pounded into dust at the midterms. I'm a swing voter and I know which way I'll swing next time. Party line dem voters don't choose the direction of the county, netiehr do party-line repubs. It's swing voters like me that will switch sides based upon the balance of the issues that actually make the choices. If the republicans get a veto-proof majority at the midterms then look for an attempt to repeal or water-down the AWB. If they get the house, senate and oval office in 4 years then look for the same. This doesn't mean the end the second amendment, but I think you know what it DOES mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBml1XZDg3w
  4. Sign me up for two. Don't be surprised if he does the course with ear defenders on if y'all cuss up a storm, though.
  5. I went to this same show exactly a year ago and got an NIB S&W M&P 15 Sport (no dust cover or forward assist) and 3 pmags for $600. And I pad $100 for 300 rounds of green-tip 5.56 nato. This time around that $700 would get you a used lower receiver, 3 pmags and enough left over to fill those 3 mags with bullets and 40 spare.
  6. Best quote of the day at the gun show; "Prices are stupid because unprepared idiots are panicking and spending money like a drunk sailor at a whorehouse with a credit card!"
  7. Is there any age limit? Sure my 8yo would benefit from first aid training but not sure if this crowd is right. You heathens cuss like sailors.
  8. It was crowded and expensive. Crap 5.56 was 65-70c/round (steel case or expired milsurp tracer). Reasonable ammo was $1/round and good ammo was gone by 09:30 ARs in 5.56 started at 1200, complete lowers were 450 used (only a couple) and by 0930 I saw none new. Pmags were 35-40. Even stamped metal mags were 25-30. The only ARs under $1k were .22lr. SKSs and AKs could be had buy the AKs were 800 and even beat up old SKSs were going for 400 and up. So, if you're missing a semi or ammo then you missed the boat. Gun shows are no bargain havens right now.
  9. We'll see. Pre-rush price on 5.56 bulk was about 38-45c per round. CTD now has 5.56 bulk 1000 round you can add-to-cart (doesn't list as backordered or out of stock) boxes for... $999. Dang, tripled in price. I have enough on hand to last through the stupidity so if the prices are silly then I don't need to buy.
  10. Is it even worth showing up looking for 5.56 bulk? Or it all gone by now?
  11. http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/straw-buyer-guns-webster-shooting-arrested-article-1.1229180 I believe that any person who effects a straw purchase for a person that they know is not allowed to own guns should be charged as an accessory to any crimes committed by that person with that gun. She should be charged with two counts of murder.
  12. May your cold, dead hands develop immediate rigor mortis, so as to further deny the gun grabbers your arms.
  13. Thank you. Got the feeling that *I* was about to get shoved. Or shived. OR whatever hurts more.
  14. Question: As the bill bans rifles and handguns that can accept a magazine greater than 10 rounds (which means my P226 with 15 round mags) can I do this: 1) Obtain (or convert via spring shortening/pinning) me some 10 round mags. 2) Have a gunsmith weld or rivet a block of metal inside the magwell in a location that means factory mags simply will not insert any more 3) Have the gunsmith convert the 10 round mags (by drilling a hole or slot that lines up with the block so it acts as a key) so that they are now the only mags that will fit the pistol I will then have a handgun that is not capable of accepting 11+ round magazines, because no other magazines work in it. Would that get around the "capable of accepting magazines that store greater than 10 rounds" rule and keep my P226 off the NFA list?
  15. Would I ever let you down? http://www.gazette.com/articles/police-138749-fight-stabbing.html No.
  16. Sorry the thread is not more stabby-related.
  17. Defending against edged weapons, blunt weapons, implied guns and multiple assailants?
  18. Of course I spelled "shoving" wrong. FML
  19. We're also going to ban train drivers. Won't somebody think of the children?
  20. http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_t3#/video/us/2012/12/28/nr-cho-nyc-subway-death.cnn We need to ban semi-automatic subway trains.
  21. The diamondback will jam if you pull the trigger after the bolt locks back on an empty mag? No thanks.
