  1. Speedy,it is about a 90 minute drive down there so we would be -30 minutes on time.
  2. Living in the 'burbs suck for shooting options. The two indoor ranges near me, Stonewall and Select Fire do not allow drawing from a holster. I have to drive out 90 miles to a friends country property to be able to shoot and be able to move and shoot out of position. I think I am an ok shooter standing square, hitting paper. I found this class offered by one of our own: Valkyrie Defense Group Counter Ambush Concepts http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmain.valkyriedefensegroup.com%2Fservices-offered.html&h=wAQHvlcGP Hey Speedy, we can car pool down there, next class on Oct 18th. Maybe an Ohio Riders Special if we get all of us biker types in the same class? Kawi?
  3. Canada has that funny bacon....
  4. I just listened to the podcast. Nicely done. It seems that the reason most of great things get started is because a person or persons get the idea they can do something better and more effective. So, good on you guys!!
  5. Before I bought a Subaru, my prior car was 2003 Monte Carlo. I had the Goodyear Triple treads. Very awesome tires all year around. I agree that real deal snow tires rock on an all wheel drive car. We are currently car shopping for a vehicle for the wife. We are looking at Subaru Outback's, Tribeca, and Audi A 4's. Going back to 2008 for the Audi's just to keep the price affordable under 15K. Not sure what we will do with the current 2002 Durango 4x4. Either sell it, or play with it and lift it and keep as a third vehicle.
  6. one item to check for on the Subaru, what brand and model tires are on it? When I bought my 2011 Legacy, it came with the factory Bridgestone Turanza tires. The tires are great for no road noise and fuel mileage, but they are a "summer performance" tire. these tires are worthless in the snow and slush of the Cleveland 'burs. That is why i bought a set of steel rims and Blizzak dedicated snow tires for winter. I checked these tires on Bridgestones webpage, and on a scale of 1 to 10, they got high marks for low noise and fuel mileage, but got dashed, as in not even a 0 or a 1 for winter / slush. The dealer would not work with me to get replacement tires of a different model of tire, Subaru North America said they have no idea where the cars end up once they are built. I agreed to a point, but then why sell a car equipped with the cold weather package ( heated seats and out side defrosting mirrors ) that will most like be used in the snow belt with summer performance tires. I don't know what tire is "standard" for a 2015 Subaru. WIth snow tires or even all season tires, the car will be great in the snow with the all wheel drive.
  7. I have a 2011 Legacy 2.5 Premium ( heated seats and defrosting outside mirrors) with a CVT transmission. This is my first Subaru, Purchased with in late 2011 with 22,000 miles. Paid 22K for it, Subaru Certified used car. Currently has about 70,000 on it. This car is excellent in the snow with snow tires and the all wheel drive. Gas mileage averages around 34 miles per gallon. This will not be my last subaru.

    Good News thread:

My wife's cousins, Bobby and Roger Reuse are racecar drivers from Alabama. This year, they were able to line up a partnership to race the three Nascar Nationwide series road course races. I have worked in their pit crew for about 20 races with their regular Scca and late model races. This past weekend, I was in the pit crew for the Nationwide race at Mid-ohio. Very cool experience, from the driver meeting, to prepping the second car and being a spotter for the whole race. Our first car went out on about lap 7 with a trAnsmission problem. The second car finished the race, but was 3 laps down, finishing in 24 place. Just needed about 40k for a new motor, we were down on power. Next year they plan to have 2 New cars and run a limited schedule, as money allows.
  9. Will change anything with the restrictions on felons or other laws in place thAt may prevent people from owning firearms?
  10. We have a husky and he is shedding his puppy coat. Looks like police chalk outline every time he get up. We use a pet brush that looks like a small garden rake. We can build a kitten each time we brush him. Agreed on introducing new food slowly, maybe a half cup at a time .
  11. I have historical plates on my 1982 gs 850. Not my daily driver. But I would use something along the lines of " just a quick shake down ride " because I plan to go to bike at Quaker steak Wednesday night. I have never been pulled over due to having historical plates on my bike. I did get pulled over and a warning for speeding in the metro park. I was going 40 and the posted speed was 35. This was at the end of River road, ( 40 mph) entering the metro park at Miles road. The historical plate topic never came up, just a friendly reminder to watch my speed.
  12. I like the course but I will be pit crewing at Watkins Glenn for the nationwide race, driver Bobby Reuse.
  13. Congrats, but I thought I had dibs on the Subaru? The truck will meet your needs of people moving, camper towing and stuff hauling.
  14. Barber's is amazing. The race track is on a golf course like property.
  15. I am a rebel. I changed my oil on the bike this weekend and I re- used the drain plug crush washer
  16. LBTS, GLWS Just kidding, I know you have alot of parts and time on this rebuild.
  17. Since most of the indoor ranges do not like when you draw from a holster, I would like to have more practice with draw, aim, fire type drills. And, if you can do so, application of the concepts from Massab Ayoob. I have read alot of his articles, AOJ standard = ability, opportunity and jeopardy. I feel I am a decent shooter, at least when standing and aiming at paper targets, but have not entered any events such as IDPA or even an appleseed event ( I know Apple seed is rifle not pistol)
  18. It does not look like it on those boxes i can see, but is any of it plenum rated?
  19. +1 on great people. Very clean bike. How is this still for sale, jump on it!!
  20. My first 2 cars were 1972 Cutlass Supremes. Both were only 350 powered and column shift automatics.
  21. My friend Nate Miller from Boardman told me to watch tonights show. So I assume he will appear on it tonight. Nate owns a company called Mustang International and is the go to guy for Mustang / RX7 parts and restoration.
  22. and toll roads. Favorite airport is Charlotte. Hate Altanta. Plus you kinda feel like a tool being "that guy" sitting alone at the bar in the hotel restaurant.
