  1. It is cold and rainy, snow is about to fall. I got home from work on time, no overtime today. I had a few beers and thought it would be good idea to re-read some of my old posts. I joined in 2009, read the thread on working in Marysville, read about selling my Katana, and my first interest in firearms. Then I re-read the thread "my dad has cancer". Cried alittle. Well, that is not true, cried alot. Then smiled. Miss you Dad. Life makes us stronger. Good night for now.
  2. Lots of reading here...... I need to brush up on my prepared-ness.
  3. I feel your pain about a previous bike. I found out shortly after I sold my near mint 1990 Katana, it was crashed by the person i sold it to. On the one hand, I think it was no longer mine, and I should not care about it. If I had known it would get crashed, I would have kept it.
  4. That place is right around the corner from me. Dang

    NEO Ride 11/9?

I finished up yard work, got the snow thrower and generator running then went for a quick ride. Only about 30 miles. I did not dress warm enough. Leaves on the road made it sorta fun. Topped off the gas tank, added Sta-bil. I think this will be the last ride of the year for me.
  6. The officer's attorney at the end indicated that she "ignored a lawful order" or something along those lines. Well, if she was drunk, ( indicated she was arrested for DUI) she probably did not process that too well. Still does not give the officer the right to overly force the woman into the cell. I understand that officer may push the people into the cell so they don't turn around and fight or try to run out. Not sure a drunk female would have the balance or ability to fight or flee. I would like to see more video of before the "cell pushing" to decide, but just that bit of video did seem excessive force.
  7. Speedy, we need to plan an afternoon to get together so I can compare my model 60 to yours. I am having feeding issues with my model 60. It will pick up fresh round from the tube, but when the bolt comes forward, the freshly picked up, non fired round gets ejected. I suspect it has something to do with the ejector wire being out of position.
  8. I think almost any bike that runs, idles, shifts, stops and is streetable is worth at least $500- $1200. That one is just old, and nothing special.
  9. Well, we could then buy the old Tyson house near Nelson's as the headquarters and use it as a race weekend compound. And have board meetings in Vegas. It might be neat if this became non-profit.
  10. I did not read the article. I am sure it is both touching and sad. Seeing the effects of cancer first hand before my father passed, I will second Bowdog's quote, and say " FUCK cancer"
  11. My current bike is 31 years old. At this point, my next street bike will have fuel injection and a radiator. Probably a Suzuki SV. I am looking for an older enduro / Dual sport to use as a campground bike at Mid-Ohio. Needs to be plate-able, and have a head light / tail light.
  12. I dont know how much a dealer would give for a bike without it being used as a trade in. Have you dealt with any of smaller shops motorcycles for mainatance? Possibly the people there that would know the bike and might want it? Awhile back, I used to get those post cards in the mail for companies that indicate "we buy bikes" but I don't have any of those around. The possible drawback to craigslist is dealing with the time and hassle of the general public. Maybe throw it out for sale on here?
  13. Stirring the pot a little bit, what about the people that do not have children? Can that person direct " school money " from taxes to something other then the school? Or, do the people without children just vote NO for all school related levies?
  14. I heard that too, about changing the oil at the end of the season. Not really sure what is going on inside the crankcase when just sitting. I usually change the oil once a year. The last few years, less then 2,000 miles riding during the summer. I have let the bike sit over the winter with "dirty oil". If it matters, I use Spectro oil.
  15. Ok, maybe i mis-read the article. Help me out here: Drunk friend calls the girl in the article, named Erin. Erin, sober, not drinking, drives after work to pick up drunk friend. Then the school punishes Erin and says Erin is in violation of the zero tolerance policy? WTF? Which brings up another question. Beside the under age drinking in general being an issue for the parents to deal with and the police, how far does the scope of the school policy cover? It was not on school grounds, or a school event, and not that the other kids were drunk in school or smoking in the bathroom?
  16. When that minigun at the 6 minute mark is firing, it looked like a laser beam coming out of the barrel. That just had to be neat to see in person.
  17. I'll do the gun fondling first, dont want to get ball-cupping sweat on the pistol
  18. I am thinking of getting either Shield, or a Walther PPS. In the running was a Nano, but I really like Walther. I have not been able to find a 9mm Shield to compare. Let us know how you like the Shield
  19. Speedy's "Shaggin Wagon" is all set!!
  20. Speedy, you could probably have this shipped to B and T, for you to pick up. Good price on the shotgun!
  21. I am in the same boat, I have a 31 year old bike. A local shop I deal with can get most parts like oil filters, and bulbs. and brake pads. I suspect they probably get parts from Suzuki or maybe Parts Unlimited.
  22. If you are getting another powerstroke, there are some slick methods listed on the power stroke forums for a "homemade" anti-theft that will disable the fuel pump relay, or the starter. But since some of these tricks are on a public forum, they might not be all that secret. With device like Lo-Jackng system, if the tracking "ping" comes back and shows the vehicle is in Mexico, will you still get it back? Now if somebody really wanted a vehicle, they would take with a tow truck or something, but it will at least make it less easy to steal. I have installed a few remote start systems, so I suspect an alarm would not be that much more labor intensive.
  23. I would like to try deer hunting. So far, I have only gone out squirrel and turkey hunting. A friend had access to 88 acres in Jefferson ( north east Ohio).
