  1. We had been looking at the Subaru XV to consolidate the use of our jeep and camery that my wife drives. The Jeep was a 2010 Wrangler sport with the mountain package, in a burnt orange color, 59,xxx miles. The Camery was a 2006 LE with some dings and 120,xxx miles. We had priced out trade in value and even entertained selling them ourselves. We knew there were wear on things like the tires and figures a hit for that. We were looking for $18,000 on the jeep, wanting $20k though. Less than compareable Jeeps with more miles are listed all day for $23k+, so there was room for the dealer to resell and profit. The camery we were hoping for $5k. We saw them going for almost $7k and even more. All and all we wanted $21000 in trade in, and basically swap cars with a little out of pocket, up to $5000 was our limit. I had called KEMBA and been preapproved for the small loan as the first joint loan for my wife and I. We went to Byers Subaru and right from the start they were dragging their feet. It's just a slow process. They were asking closing questions before getting the car we wanted, the way we wanted. Telling us it would cost extra to have it shipped to them from 200 miles away. Right away I was feeling run around. Our sales guy, zach, had to keep getting the "ok" from the manager on things. Every time he would come back he was trying to sell us whatever BS the manager had just told him to. They wanted to run our credit again and still send us through KEMBA, claiming they can get a better rate. IF we even finance anything. I knew they wanted to make money on the on the back of the loan and finally I told him to stop getting ahead of himself and see what they have for trade in value. They come back with $15000 on the jeep and $4000 on the Camery. So, $19,000 in trade. Honestly, we weren't all that upset with that. But the manager kept telling him to push the financing and the value of the jeep didn't sit right with me. Zach, was acting uncomfortable and selling too desperately. I asked for the keys back to our cars. They said they couldn't find one of the jeeps spare keys. Now your incompetent and pushy, trying to keep us there. I said call me when you find them. We were hungry and left to eat. All in all, they wanted $4000 on top of our trade in and they were selling too hard. We drove to Hatfield on Georgesville rd. this is where I bought my specB and have had all major service done on my legacy's since 2008. They did a really good job then, but are on the far side of town from us. I linked back up with Lori Glick who took care of me before. I'm very straight forward and know what I want before I go most places. I told her and she went and go it. They appraised the jeep at $19000 and the camery at $4000. Now we are talking! And the wife and her got along great. We even upgraded a few things we weren't looking to get on the car, but we were so pleased with how everything went, we didn't mind. My wife loves the new car and we are glad we drove a little farther to talk to Hatfield. Lori was a rock star and NO BS on the deal. We paid cash for the couple extras and were on outlet way. Today I stopped in to Byers to get the jeep key. I told zach how unhappy we were with their approach. His reply was "if you had given me a chance I could have done better for you on financing". WTF part of we didn't finance did you not understand!! Byers was so hung up on making a huge profit on the jeep and money on the back of financing, they lost a customer. Cliffs: Trading two cars for a new one. Byers on billingsly has shit service and tried racking us over the coals. The lost one of the keys to ourtrfade in. Went to Hatfield they gave us $4000 more and were awesome to deal with. Went to get key from Byers and they are retarded telling me they would have saved us money had we financed with them on a cash deal. Happy wife= sexy time.
  2. I enjoyed every movie I saw him in. It's sad to hear of his death. Although, I'm relieved a little he was not the one driving. Best wishes to his family and friends as they grieve his passing.
  3. Great freaking car, and deal.
  4. That's the sight I went to that told me I didn't put in my payment info, nor did it ask.
  5. So who has a sight that actually works to view your credit report free. We have been in our house almost a year and want to just check up on things. I've been to the sight listed in the first post, but it said it did not receive my payment, nor did it ask for it. Nor am I looking to pay. I've been to a dozen sights this morning and theyall suck. Little help?
  6. I'd say this is what stuck out to me the most. My point is just as Austin sumed up, get the stuff to those who need it. Regardless of what name is attached to it. To feel like you can't do one now, comes off like your name isn't attached to it, so you don't want to play. You're involved with a few selfless organizations that help in different ways. Perhaps the phrasing above was just a bit of a surprise when I read it.
  7. I'm doing a toy drive too. It's themed toward prepping kids for the zombies, so what we are looking for are toy guns and claymore simulators. Also, anything to work a garden with. Seriously though, it's a toy drive 45 minutes East of Columbus. Maybe COB and CR members are in his area willing to donate. Maybe they don't want to come to Columbus to do that and his drive gives local option to do so. The guy is just trying to get the word out and do something to help others? He likes to organize events, and now he's suppose to check in with people? These are forums that have members all over the state. Trish, you're coming off passive butt hurt, but you come on CR and push things way harder than on COS. It seems hypocritical to me. To include the language you have used here, but would never allow on COS. Jason, this guy's drive just makes me wonder if Coltboosten from up North, came on CR and did the same thing, is that far enough away to warrant it not interfering with the CR drive? I get what you're saying, I do. If a member comes here and mentions the Marine toys for tots drive, and that they are helping, and informs others on how they can donate, is that stepping on toes? I understand the position of groups doing events. But, I fail to see where one more "like" event impacts others when there are sooooo many out there now. People are going to donate where they feel like it.
  8. That lake effect + 25 mph winds, was pretty shitty to drive through the other night.
  9. PA is looking to get 18" in some parts. That would be an area to watch. 81 had no construction and we didn't see anyone out clearing roads or treating them between 90 and Watertown.
  10. In Vermont now. Drove up in a pretty nasty storm over Saturday night. Got up by Watertown on 81 and decided we were going to get a room and let the weather clear up, then it cleared up. They are only calling for 3-6 inches here, with this storm.
  11. Exactly. Me going to a place like this, where no one gives 2 shits about anyone else = not good for me to be around.
  12. Hoping to have the time to tear the FD down. pull motor and trans, just to check everything and tighten anything up that may need it. everything is holding well, just seems like it's time to check things. Might change the look of it too.
  13. Will vouch, this is a very comfy couch. It's nice, even if you slouch. Best part is when you sit down, you don't say "ouch". Some body take this couch.
  14. Probably a mid to high, 500whp car. Still run only 11s.
  15. BrAAAAaaAAape. Puuuuuuu pu BrAAAAAAAAaAAAAAAAAAAApe. Puuuuuuu pu BrAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPE!!!!! Pu pu
  16. Train wreck. Could not stop looking at it, yet still hated it.
  17. I had used USAA in the past, BUT KEMBA beat them out. The service and the fact they are local is great. If I got another car loan, I'd be stopping in there first.
  18. Jason, shoot me a call tomorrow and I can get you in touch with my guy I use to do work with.
  19. He could quit claim you on to the title, then remove his name, leaving you on title. I would insure there was a title search done on the property to be sure there are no odd esments or liens. It's been a bit since I was in this game, so things may have changed. Once the house is clear, you sign over the title of the car to him.
  20. I predict next election will have the largest number of voters ever seen.
  21. I grew up cutting wood lots in Vermont. Given what you've said, buying used wouldn't even be an option. I'd buy a new one and I'd be sure it was a beast with a great service/warranty/ guarantee. I think the Poulan might be ok, But I would really lean toward a make that can be service easily, like JL said. This is a tool I would buy name brand on for the work you're going to do with it. Poulan has been around. I just can't say I have seen them in what I would say it more than medium use environments. Spend around $200 now on a good saw, and save yourself $250 in trips to return/replace, get aprts, donw time from cutting.
  22. How much cutting are you looking to do? I picked one up a few months ago, just to clear things out around the property. I'm no logger. I freaking love how handy having it has been though. I knew I didn't need anything heavy duty, so I picked up a Poulan. New, from Home Depot, they are $150. I think that is pretty fair price for a new one. I'd be worried on a cheaper, used one and it not lasting as long a this one.http://www.homedepot.com/p/Poulan-PRO-18-in-42-cc-Gas-Chainsaw-PP4218AVX/202367634#.UoTZRfmsgk0
  23. Fuck the Washington times link. BS pop up that covers the screen and won't go away.
  24. I'll be up in Vermont for the week of Thanksgiving too. A little further North though, in St. Albans. If you get the chance, try to get to Jay Peak to snowboard. Tons of terrain and long runs. I came here to post the same vid you did. Interesting watch; plus all of what you guys have already said.
