  1. The best tracks are in the middle of nowhere, they just haven't been running a good program there. This place isn't anywhere near what's required for an NHRA level event. Let's put it this way 36 acres is just what you need for parking, let alone racers. I've got a pretty good idea where the Summernationals might land, just waiting to see it all fall into place.
  2. Nope, always been a drag strip. I'm guessing at that price it's about to become a bunch of shitty track homes.
  3. If I didn't already know the shitshow it can be to run a track/program I would look into this at the price they have it at. http://www.dragzine.com/news/want-buy-dragstrip-mcir-sale-ohio/
  4. We have yet to see a snow plow in our sub division this winter when there was actual snow.
  5. I know that the patriarchy exists. I know that feminism is necessary literally everywhere. I also know that being in favor of equality means standing against ALL forms of discrimination, including speciesism. What would you call a person who is against racism, but has no problem with sexism? How about a person who claims to be opposed to sexism, but is transphobic? You'd call them hypocrites, wouldn't you? Yeah, well, that's what I call ANYONE who says we should respect the rights of humans while they choose to violate the rights of nonhumans. Oppression doesn't cease to be evil just because you enjoy the taste of it.
  6. The dumb ass people that built houses around the track played a part, but not as much as the money from Copart. The kids that run the track now are complete idiots so it was only a matter of time before the track died anyway. At that amount of easy money, you would be stupid to not take it. Plus they will still have other revenue streams coming in that aren't as expensive as the drag strip to run PLUS they are going to turn the track itself into a concert venue so they will still make money.
  7. When Copart offers you 75 million dollars to park cars for 15 years, you take the money it seems.
  8. When a state's biggest selling point is the weather you have problems. Expensive as hell, terrible government, fires, floods, earthquakes, liberals, bro rated people, I mean it's literally hell on earth. I've been out there a lot for work, the weather is amazing, nice looking state, but I'll keep my freedom, cheap cost of living, and ability to do damn near what I want to a car. Then there's this... https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2018/01/16/new-california-declares-independence-california-bid-become-51st-state/1036681001/ Anyway, thanks for the info this will be a great start.
  9. So, we have a new project car that just rolled into the home office shop. It's a 1999 Trans Am with 43,000 miles. Guy got it for a steal and the car is just crazy clean, so it's a solid slate to start with. The question is, if you were going to build a killer cruiser TA in your head, what would it have? I told him SFC, exhaust, CAI/Lid, wheels and tires and enjoy. He said he was open to suspension as well as other items, so I said lower the bitch, throw some LCAs on it and headers. I was also going to suggest if he wanted to make it rumble to toss a cam in it. Here's the catch, everything has to be CA legal since he lives in that shithole state. What would the F-body crew of CR do for the Build a killer cruiser TA project?
  10. If you decide to go LT1 let me know. I have up at my dad's house a block, crank, rods, pistons and heads I think that I'll sell you. That being said, I would go with an LSX setup TRUST ME. I messed around with the LT1 stuff and the LS based is just so much better from an aftermarket standpoint and in general. You can find so much LS based stuff anymore and it's beyond easy to make 450 hp with just some basic stuff and it will run good on cheap gas. This is you're show, but there's a reason I have an LSX F-body in my garage and the LT based car got sold.
  11. Oh I'm working on getting us all kinds of fun toys for 2018 :fuckyeah: Right now parts are just caught up in the paperwork phase on other people's desks.
  12. LOL! Wheestands are fun for everybody that doesn't have to work on the car, or pay for the stuff that gets broken. Listen, I will be more than happy when we have to worry about this problem, that means we're making power
  13. Until the car starts to death wobble on the bumper and you end up sliding on your side lol. That and I'm not Ray...
  14. Yes, 100% for weight savings. The 17" wheels are more for those who are worried about looks and want to fill the wheel well out a bit more. When I talked with Race Star about this and explained what we were trying to do he said 15s were the way to go. If you are planning on throwing more power at the car you can overcome the extra weight of the 17s. Since this project isn't about looks and about going fast the 15s were the answer. It saves weight overall, cuts weight off the nose and that will help with weight transfer in the first 60 feet. Since this is a nitrous car we live and die by that 60 foot so anything we can do to make it hook and book the better.
  15. Well, this is the biggest compliment that anybody could give me. The goal of the article was to be a Google stop for those looking to get info in one place. It's very high level and general, but I hope it helps a few people. Wait until we start the suspension portion of the build, then shit is going to get interesting. Scott and I might have to get some wheel stand protocol training so we know what to do if the car hooks and starts to climb that ring gear :fuckyeah: Good luck, people are asking for crackhead prices on some of them. Get a southern car, trust me. The last thing you want to do is try and remove hardware off the car that is rusted on... I had to pull them off last night, it made me sad. Thanks!
  16. Thanks, I'm happy with them for sure. The black ones they offer look great, but I didn't want them for the car for some reason. They were out of the chrome at the time so I pulled the trigger on the gunmetal and am very happy. Getting that rear tire to fit is not an easy task. We "clearanced" inside the fender as much as we could with a large adjustment tool, clipped the bumper cover a bit, and removed the bump stop and mount. It still needs some adjusting but should work out. If the car was pulling the stock wheels 2-inches imagine what it will do on these :fuckyeah:
  17. Looking forward to see how much time these shave off at the track this year. http://www.dragzine.com/tech-stories/what-to-look-for-in-wheels-and-tires-for-streetstrip-action/
  18. Next installment of our Project BlownZ06 :fuckyeah: This car will be on the track soon and hopefully won't have tooooooo many new car blues.... http://www.dragzine.com/project-cars/project-blownz06/blownz06-build-part-2-front-suspension-brakes/
  19. Don't worry, Oprah will be our President in 2020 according to the interwebz. I mean, what we really need is an outsider with no experience at all, is a TV star that has popularity, and a clear track record for avoiding scandal.

    ROADKILL!

Discovery isn't really touching the print stuff for TEN, they are failing on their own. They cut Super Street, some euro car magazine, and a circle track magazine. We have been taking bets on when print will be dead at least in the automotive world and right now the popular number is around 2025 give or take 2 years. Trying to run a print magazine has given me sine insight to this and I'm really shocked that most have lasted as long as they have after the crash in 2008. That's why those slimeballs at Source Interlink pulled what they did to become TEN and I'm sure TEN will fall to the same fate and just leave the video stuff. We've got digital locked in and are now trying to creep into the video market more on the direct to consumer side to go with our other productions.

    ROADKILL!

Roadkill Magazine got cut, along with 3 other titles at TEN. Word on the street is that all is not well there at all...
