  1. What we did back in the day what we did for freedom was a bit different. We kicked england to the curb and allowed people to do what they wanted for the most part. These nut jobs are all like "if you don't like what we like and do as we say we're going to stone you to death in the name of god"
  2. Did you think this out much? Here are a few things I can think of that make this a terrible idea: 1. Cost 2. Insurance (good luck finding any that would cover this car) 3. Parts for car 4. Who is going to work on it?
  3. The middle east is pretty much ford vs chevy people, but instead of fighting over cars they fight over god and shoot each other, cut heads off, and make videos of blowing stuff up.
  4. You would think that elected idiots would learn from the people who came before them and their fuck ups? From what I have read the boots on the ground are predicting the exact same fate for trash-can-a-stan after we leave.

  6. Here is what I think of when I hear about the majority of the idiots that hang out up there and screw it up. NSFW
  7. Clay, I hate to burst your dreamer bubble but this is not possible. The freaks and failures find it through the internet. The only way you might have a chance is to not have a facebook group, have it a private place of business so you have the option to throw people out, and have a "leader" who can keep things together. We used to meet at the sonic over by Easton, it was nice, chill, mostly CR people and never an issue. The problem was that for some reason people bitched about the food at sonic and they did not want to drive to a car meet :dumb: Long story short: The freaks, failures and tards come out at night and tend to ruin things.
  8. So I've hit a point where I need to invest in some additional lighting and support gear. I have a 430 EXII speedlight, but need more off camera stuff. It seems the speedlight on camera just does not have enough rip to light a car correctly. For detail shots is does ok overall, but just can't seem to get the whole car. Digging around on the web its hard to find "new" information on what's out there to shoot cars with. I'm guessing I will need 1 or 2 strobes, soft boxes (not sure on size), triggers, and for going portable a way to power the strobes. What do the other picture takes use when shooting and what good links do you have to educate us lighting noooooobs?
  9. Thanks, dakotart sent me a PM and I might be buying off him. Now, as for our manfrotto ball heads, what model do you have and how do you like them? I'm looking to buy a ball head at some point and I love the manfrotto stuff I already have.
  10. Does anybody have a tripod head I could borrow from Nov. 5-11? I need to shoot some video up at MIR on my camera slider and need a head to put on there. It can be a ball head or whatever, as long as it fits the standard size for a tripod. I have to leave my tilt/pan head on my tripod for other stuff I'm doing that weekend. Heck, if someone has a head for sale at the right price I will just flat out buy it off you.

  12. Call up Team Z and get their stuff. Dave is a great guy and will help you out with setup.
  13. I will be at that freak show Right now they are trying to get me a media pass to shoot track side.
  14. Does the car have a ani-roll bar or at least an upgraded sway bar? I listenen to Patrick Barnhill as much as I can when he talks setup, and he talks about the importance of the anti-roll bar on a radial tire car (or any race car). You car does not do the g-body shuffle to bad, yet, but the second you really put the power down its going to be hiking only one wheel really high, twisting the car. When it twists the car you are only really planting one full time and unloading the other.
  15. I edit pictures like I play video games, just mash buttons and hope things turn out ok.
  16. I shot all of these with my Canon 17-55 2.8 lens. When I'm doing stuff like this I'm usually shooting in the 2.8-5.6 range in aperture priority.
  17. I've learned that every picture tells a story and will require its own edit. Some things will need that flat look with the vignette, others need to have colors pop more, then some need to be in just black and white. I want a 5d Mark III but can't shell out the cash for one right now. I need the full frame sensor for dim lighting at race tracks and the other crazy stuff I have to shoot when doing action work.
  18. I've been working on more low angle, high angle, and detail type shots. Sometimes I'm only trying to get certain things in focus while letting other details fade in the distance.
  19. I've decided to challenge myself a bit more when shooting events and not being one of those guys who grows roots and only shoots track side in almost the same spot. http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/2014-NMCA-World-Finals/i-WX5nQrX/0/L/_MG_4891-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/2014-NMCA-World-Finals/i-jMhBzbQ/0/L/_MG_4898-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/2014-NMCA-World-Finals/i-QShSS77/0/L/_MG_4930-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/2014-NMCA-World-Finals/i-CrzjcDC/0/L/_MG_4991-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/2014-NMCA-World-Finals/i-bFhzS2N/0/L/_MG_5072-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/2014-NMCA-World-Finals/i-pTFJmDg/0/L/_MG_5471-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/2014-NMCA-World-Finals/i-JZThNs8/0/L/_MG_5525-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/2014-NMCA-World-Finals/i-DqRTSkB/0/L/_MG_5524-L.jpg
  20. Agreed. Looking at these from a picture take perspective, they are great. The use of space adds to the shots, does not take away from them. What needs to be in focus is and the background works with the picture, not against it. They fit "the look" that the editor was going for without looking to forced. I like them, they look better than what I could do.
  21. Everybody has their own style when it comes to shooting. I can't edit for shit still and just try to make pictures suck less in post. I will say this, when it comes to automotive pictures don't get stuck in a rut. No matter where I go shooting now I try to find something different to try. I have what I like but then I take a step back and try to see something nobody else would do. At the NMCA race at Indy I went up into the stands and started shooting all over the the track, next thing I know all the NMCA Event people and The Block photographers where up there with me
  22. You work with the general public, you've seen the level of stupid that has interwebz access, nothing should shock you...
  23. Such a great company that supports a customer like this. If I had a customer that posted the stuff this guy did, on facebook about Gary, I would have fired him as a customer. That is a poor representation of the brand and now stains the company. It really is like the movie step brothers, but more sad because its real life. Prestige World Wide learned to blow up cars bruh...
  24. That's what happens when someone who thinks their cool gets what is coming. I guess hitting someone who is not expecting it with pizza is not a sucker punch? Lucky that guy did not come totally unglued and drag his ass out of that booth and give him a hillbilly stomp party.
