  1. You can either DIY it like has been suggested, or get a cheap one (like this from cycle gear for $29) or even just use a clip master link and safety wire it.
  2. Won't you get a title with an odometer discrepancy issue then?
  3. SF wouldn't even pick me up. I was inquiring about getting insurance on the bike and they would require full coverage or another item on the policy (like a car or house). So I told them to add the car into the mix and they told me it was useless because of my age and that it would be astronomical rates. Went to progressive for about a year an a half now and its been good; only $97 more to add an r1 on my policy. I will still have to give this guy a call if he is a miracle worker like everyone says
  4. Had to disassemble the font calipers and clean them but my 03 is ready to go; I even have some plastics on it now (I hope they stay on)! So far we have: Magz jbot speedy bad(?) IP Anyone else?
  5. She just needs a liter bike, the fz6r is just too boring
  6. Welcome, and nice looking Triumph! I have to ask, what exactly were you searching for on google that you found us? There can be some very... interesting... search terms that will bring this site up.
  7. There is a guy over on .net looking to twin turbo a 600rr. I think its silly to twin turbo it, its also got to be a fun project regardless. There were a lot of people initially ragging on him saying "its not the right bike", "get a 1000cc", "its not possible" etc... Its very possible to run low boost on any 600cc engine, higher and you will need to get new internals. There was a video posted up not too long ago about an older bike running high boost, so maybe that would be wiser for your friend to pursue? For now I will just leave some links here that I posted up on .net as well: turbo gsxr 600: http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187973 video: dynojet's turbo 600rr: http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=147094 and the previous link in the thread: http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=74039&page=7 And here are some factory turbo motorcycles (two 650's and a 500): http://www.turbomotorcycles.org/TMIO...a_CX650Td.html http://www.turbomotorcycles.org/TMIO...a_CX500Tc.html http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/ep...rbo_small.aspx
  8. I know how that is with buyers, although I got a LOT of serious interest once we got a few warm days (sold within 3 warm days). Try zip tying the harness the the stay maybe? Its possible he routed it wrong while doing the plastics swap.
  9. Hmm, let me think: - '07+ 600rr radiator - '07+ ram air intake and airbox -600rr BAS -600rr cylinder head cover and bolts -'09 600rr frame -Vortex rearsets -600rr clip ons - 520 sprockets (15, 16 tooth fronts and 43, 44, 45 tooth rears) - Woodcraft frame sliders - '07 600rr forks I still need to get a front rim, rotors, headers, plastics and possibly a new tank. Pictures are in this thread for the interested.
  10. Nicely done. Although the purple isn't my cup of tea, I can see the duel color scheme working on the bike and with different colors
  11. I wanna see that! Did you ever look into the steering problem or anything?
  12. If I have my '03 street legal by then I'll see you there
  13. The issue is that its not usually straight or angled into the air even. I knew of a family from Detroit who regretted going home every New Years because they would have to celebrate by laying down on their floor in case rounds came through the walls because people weren't paying attention.
  14. I think that's a bit dramatic; I would run them if I had to mount . I got a Shinko advanced 005 rear with my R1 and it would have been alright for just commuting and such (although I don't know what the mileage life is) but it was pretty bad otherwise. It seemed really stiff as turn it was bad, rear traction would break at any hint of throttle in a lean and it seemed impossible to warm them up enough. I immediately unmounted and sold it and wouldn't willingly buy another set. For off-road and such I really don't know how they stack up
  15. Upload the pictures to imgur, photobucket or imageshack and take the link that starts with ... and paste it in the post. Casper has it set up so it re-sizes automatically and those sites allow for the larger sized files.
  16. Not too big of an update, but I sold the gsxr so I will be able to start buying things and get this project done. I keep (unfortunately) finding surprises along the way and now need a new upper triple clamp as well because it is badly bent. I determined that while trying to mock up the front end so I could see how far off an '03-'06 600rr front wheel fits (to the curious: its 3/8" larger both at the axle and rotors). I am also having a shop cut the hardened steel lower bearing race off my new lower triple clamp because it would take a lot longer than I would like to do it myself. Once I get that back I will start to install my new All Balls bearings and get the front together. I still do not have any wheel/rotors though, but I am toying with the idea of just getting an '03 rim on the cheap and machining it down and just using the bearing from the destroyed wheel. Now for pictures: Unfinished welded motor mount: Pretty much finished motor mount. Its been smoothed down to 100 grit sandpaper and I will hopefully be mocking it up Tuesday night so I can drill and tap the whole properly: I was able to get some garage space until Wednesday and made sure to make it how a garage should look like. Under the covers in the background is a '73 Norton Commando 850 and an AJS, in the foreground is my '03 600rr almost finished after my crash at nelsons last year and the '09/10 600rr. The swingarm and subframe are in place and the engine is just barely visible on an atv jack right in front of the front end. With the new frame I bought, I got only 1 engine adjusting bolt. By the packaging shown above I shouldn't be surprised, but here is what it looks like (on the right) compared to a real engine adjusting bolt (on the left). Some people really shouldn't work on bikes and its stuff like this that pisses my off. If you don't know how to do something then don't, ignorance is not an excuse.
  17. But its a show car guys! Haha, every sentence in the add is full of win; replacement R2D2, Honda's last forever but it has a wrx engine and tranny, and even don't waste his time! Preserved forever:
  18. I'll put $10 in to see a video of that!
  19. Nice vid! How were you able to mount that, and do you use your rear break ever? (not being mean, just an observation from that video) In the very far future, I hope to mount it where the headlights are but on track fairings instead.
  20. Good luck, your family is in my thoughts.
  21. This. Ganglion cysts you don't want to drain. I have seen a large dictionary being used to do it before and it worked like a charm
  22. I have seen this done before by someone and definitely liked the results. A little sad to see the age of the ammo cans get removed, it would have been cool if you could just have clear coated them and kept the patina. I don't see the purple accents on the bike anywhere else save the grips I was looking at por-15 for sealing a gas tank and saw a lot of pictures of it getting stripped off within a few years so I went with a different product (http://www.kbs-coatings.com/cycle-tank-sealer-kit.html) They have normal rust preventative paints as well like por-15. Just another idea.
  23. What kind of date are you looking at? I think it would be fun but there are a lot of limiting factors for me to be able to get away for a weekend or so. I haven't even been able to get on a good ride yet this year
  24. Wear longer shorts underneath the pants? My standard leather pants bunch up in the crotch nice and tight but nothing around the knees. My 1-piece suit has the fancy stretchy fabric on the back of the knees so I certainly don't have a problem there, just the crotch area again...something seems disproportional here
  25. So you tried to go through it, and are bitter that you couldn't? Sounds like someone is jealous
