  1. I don't know much about rains, but I think they are Metzeler rains? Tyler, are you prepping for the rain that is called for Saturday? I have power one's on right now and am a little nervous with 30% chance. I am hoping the weather gets pushed back a day and its sunny, like what is called for Friday.
  2. Well this is a mixed feelings update. I got some parts in the mail but it looks like I will need some more so I will be pushing the first trackday deadline. New to me slingshot racing keyless gas cap (from a '04 1000rr, which will come into play in a second): Some ebay special levers ($33 shipped and they look to be the same quality as any of my CRG, CNR or Pazzo levers): I finally got a front wheel as well. The only fronts I could find were selling for ~$300 without rotors and I was NOT going to pay that kind of premium. After a lot of research I decided to take a gamble and get a '04-05 1000rr respol front which was supposed to be nearly bolt up to the 03-06 600rr fronts. After a bit of math, a bunch of chips and some new bearings I have a new front wheel; for $86 too, can't beat that! I used a mapp gas torch initially to knock out the bearings since it was closest (tested on the wrecked '10 front). Unfortunately I forgot the repsol OEM rims were powdercoated. Not much damage done and it is very well hidden. Try #2 with a heat gun went over perfectly as well as putting the new bearings in. Where all the magic happened, along with tpoppa's old tool box: Flipping it over, ready to complete operation #3 (my y-axis isn't large enough to do all 6 rotor mounts a the same time): The aftermath: And the final result! Looks great I think: I also eliminated the exhaust servo and resulting FI light; still need to insulate it with hot glue or something: The vortex rearsets I got included the wrong shift rod and no gear shift arm.... so time to put OEM back on: The throttle cables are also ruined so I have to wait for those and the gas tank should be arriving by Wednesday. The brakes are all bled, a new EK MXVZ chain installed with new sprockets 15/43 (-1/0) and new headers. I just hope I can get it done by the 28th!

  4. I don't think you need to run pimp juice either, just regular ol' 87 octane
  5. You can find blinker fluid here, they even added new products since last time I needed anything! http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=22
  6. Its just xx, not xxx. As in cbr1100xx, his motorcycle
  7. Please tell me you flapped your arms like you're supposed to? And where are the pics of his $300+ air filter lol

  9. Part 92009 for bar end screw (or you could just match it up with something at home depot).
  10. This is the best I can do for you, Brian:
  11. I'm in for Saturday with the instructional/novice, or lack thereof. I expect good control riding from you jbot, not like last time
  12. Let it sit overnight in a bowl of carburetor cleaner. Use compressed air and a blow gun to dislodge any remaining debris. You can also buy a "torch head cleaning tool". Any NAPA should have one. It looks like this... http://media.photobucket.com/image/recent/hawkeyes_bucket/100_4303.jpg Piano wire/guitar string also does wonders if you are trying to get it together in a day. Otherwise soaking is the best way to clean any part of the carbs; much harder to muck it up if you aren't touching it.
  13. If someone figures out how to make it a VTOL I'm making one...
  14. WTF was that?! Was that a tissue up your nose that was just soaked or what?
  15. The show looks great so far. I don't have TV so its awesome that the sponsor has uploaded this so I can watch online! They do look nice...if they were available in my size
  16. As "crazy" as you think you did editing, it was great as always and still very watchable.
  17. This is the issue; you DON'T know what you did wrong. There is no footage so no one can verify what you were doing wrong either, anything said is just a guess. Looking into the turn after you panic won't solve anything and being in too high of a gear won't cause you to "slip" anything. Everyone is trying to get you to take the course so you can figure out the physics of riding and what certain inputs do and what your respective action should be. Just because it is an "expert" turn doesn't exempt you from needing to seriously learn from the mistake. When I am riding, I consider going over the double yellow as bad as any crash and I need to personally re-examine what I did and take a step back. You are correct, people do crash after they take the course. The issue is that you do not have the knowledge to learn from the mistake so you are doomed to repeat it. Please realize the severity of the issue. If you still don't want to take the course or learn what we are trying to tell you then fine, there is nothing any of us can do to help you beyond that. I do hope that you remain safe and the explosion of this thread was unwarranted. I would advise you, however, to just let this thread die and look into building your basic riding skills.
  18. Its cool, just giving you a hard time for a repost
  19. Yes, and they are contained here and here
  20. I think you are hunting for a premise that makes your dislike of guns seem valid; the wrong way to use the scientific method. IP hit it on the head: "bad shit doesn't check my schedule before it does its thing"
  21. /mascot search I am personally not interested in the idea for the single fact that it would be awkward for me to carry anything around that isn't the size of my wallet or close to it. I don't have a tank/tail bag or anywhere that I would feel secure strapping something down so it would have to be exceptionally small to fit in the "trunk" or a jacket pocket.
