  1. Intermediate is full on Tuesday. Sounds like I just missed the boat.
  2. Whoever had the latest major model change is the best. Like we always said with dirt bikes, pick your favorite color, they're all good. Wonder if the CBR600 is going to change in 2011...
  3. 2.0 60ft isn't terrible... My buddy used to consistently stall every other run. His 60ft would be either 2.xxx or 5.xxx. He was just afraid to bring the revs up too high at the line. I guess 3 seconds isn't bad for refiring and getting rolling again.
  4. Don't you guys find they loosen up over time? Mine get used a couple dozen times a year tops and they sure don't fit well after a couple years. Of course I'm not buying $700 helmets, I'm an eBay HJC kinda guy.
  5. Did you account for rider sag? My lower drags a bit with a 7.5' arch ramp if I ride it up.
  6. I wrecked big on skis once - did about half a front flip over a huge table in a terrain park. I jumped up and got out of the way quick because the landing was blind, and when I was clipping back in it felt like something warm and wet was running down my leg. I really hadn't taken any time to evalute my condition up to that point, and since I was confident I hadn't wet myself I freaked a little thinking it was blood. Turns out there was nothing there, I must've just whacked some nerve real good. You probably just sat on something wrong.
  7. WTF - I thought I got away from this stuff when I left Cuyahoga county. Up there they only used to add it November through March or so. Sunoco Ultra 94 used to be guaranteed alcohol free. Not all stations have it. I'd be interested to see some solid info on what the situation is around here - I assumed that the gas I get in Delaware county is alcohol free.
  8. It's a fricken straight line - I'm sure you wear full leather on the street.
  9. I like the Pony... it's a shame they associated themselves with this "Yamaha of Columbus".
  10. If they set up the jumbotrons in the keyhole and esses it's sweet. Otherwise you've got a point...
  11. I learned real quick that when you're on a nice country road and coming to a nice cambered right hand turn, everybody's gravel driveway washes right down to the apex.
  12. I plan on signing up at the last minute for either 6/28 OR 6/29. I'm already off work that week.
  13. You're an advanced rider on soft tires, I'm going to flip the PP rear I used 9 days last year and use it some more later this season. Of course, the PPs I've used 4.5 days this year have about the same amount of wear on them, I guess I've gotten faster. I don't think she's going to regret the wear on her tires from her first track day. I wish I was a street rider to burn up all the meat left in the middle of these things.
  14. That's the one thing? Don't let that stop you. You probably won't have any measurable wear your first day on an SV650 on a street tire.
  15. Anyone else from the area going? I'm signed up for the 5th. This is a rare long distance travel for me. Was there over 10 years ago in a car, but think I need to start watching some internet videos. If you're going and can transport a couple more bikes let me know if we can work something out, otherwise a buddy and I will probably be driving separate trucks up there.
  16. Sometimes I wonder why I have this really expensive toy I use less than 10 times a year. I keep it as cheap as possible doing one day trips to Midohio, Nelson and Beaverun.
  17. I knew you guys were there, I just didn't see your ride-through. I appreciate the offer, but I don't really want to get involved in anything that takes more money or time right now. Just curious what a "mini" with actual roadrace geometry feels like. I say that everytime man. Especially Saturday, the heat and new group pace was killing me. Glad your first day was a good one...
  18. Only mini racer I saw in the north track paddock was the kid challenging everybody with a 50cc scooter to drag races. I'd like to try an NSR sometime. Did the mini-motard thing briefly with my XR50 but that was a pretty worthless experience.
  19. Oh that sucks... I won't even post about the weather here...
  20. Based on current tire wear and finances, I think I'm going to run these some more this year. Sorry to waste the space.
  21. You have to get them to ceritfy it first, before you start. She had alot of paperwork to do. Then the officials came out, and laid out the rules and other red tape items. They even measured the track for distance. Yeah, that, and it's a *women's record.
  22. I did 4 with STT at Midohio, 6 or 7 total. I really appreciated the dedicated attention, it just starts to suck when you're waiting to pass 3 or 4 slower groups per lap, and starting off every morning with three line drill, no brakes drill, downshifting drill. I did end up in the #1 group my first day and my instructor did recommend intermediate to all of us in the group, but I felt I had plenty more to learn there. I also crashed the first session of my fourth novice day, and told everybody that was why I was still in novice. If there was a structured program like that where everyone on the track was at a faster pace, I'd be interested. I've seen an attempt to run something like that simultaneously with an open format on track and it didn't seem to work out to well though. NESBA bumped me to Intermediate after 23 total days. Hope I fit in there, we'll see Saturday.
