So How Do You Guys Keep from Sliding Forward?
TSB67 replied to Big Green Valley's topic in Daily Ride
No, beat me to it kinda. Just getting into the OR spirit. Honestly I never had a problem with this bike, probably varies with the shape of the tank. I eventually put stompgrip on because everybody swore by it - I personally didn't notice a difference. Apparently it does something though because it scuffs the hell out of my leathers. If you're gripping the tank with your knees your doing it right. Thighmaster maybe? -

Huge balls. -
Just as important is which way you're going. An hour to zone out and go 50 miles in no traffic beats the hell out of an hour of stress to go 25 miles in traffic. When I worked in downtown Cleveland I was as pissed off as I was going to be that day by the time I even got to work.

Didn't get an invite. Was actually waiting for this. I guess I only did 2 regular days, a KTM day and a NESBA day there this year. Oh well - time to put antifreeze in the bike I guess...

Still convenient to have an extra set of wheels for quick tire swapping. I almost picked up a third...

http://www.discountramps.com/bike-ramp.htm I basically have three of this size aluminum arch. The first I bought by itself, supposedly rated for 750 lbs. Gets my 200lb dirtbike in and out of a Tundra with minimal effort. I bought two more as an ATV pair, supposedly rated 600lbs each, to put on either side to back the sportbike down and ride/straddle it up. I can't push the 400lb sportbike all the way into the truck by myself. Sometimes I'll back it down one ramp myself, although it does make me a bit nervous holding the front brake and balancing while I climb down form the bed. I'll push it up one ramp if there is someone else to give it a final shove once I climb up into the truck, and once I was in a big hurry and managed to clutch it up there, but I stalled it quite a few times and my bike only starts in neutral - real fun trying to balance the bike holding the clutch and the brake and shifting with my leg. Arch helps with both pushing and lower clearance, if you can park the truck so the tailgate is lower it helps and vice versa, if my truck is level and I actually ride the bike up or down the lower drags a little bit. Make sure you tie all the ramps to the truck, and remember they can still slide off sideways. P.S. IIRC I got these a little cheaper off eBay from the same company. Also, I think they might be chinese, so don't push the load limit too far.

It's the Nelson of dragstrips.

Any cheap hotels around there? Never been.

Made 24 passes at my leisure - crowd was light. Unfortunately my best was still an 11.0 on a 2.0 60ft. Had a full tank of gas this time, not sure how much that hurts. Of interesting note, I tried running with the fork rebound screws closed based on the "dead weight" theory of the strappers, and it made for big power wheelies in the top third of first gear. Opened the screws back up and that calmed it back down. Back to the drawing board - at least I got comfortable short-shifting to second WOT with the front wheel in the air. Still running full track height. Was bidding on Casper's lowering link auction, but then I learned that I need special brackets to strap with the radial-mount calipers. Forget that, I'm not spending $200+ to try it for a few passes.

Remove Firearms and Politics threads from front page?
TSB67 replied to Casper's topic in Website Info
I can't believe there are no other threads yet campaigning for votes. Where is the election season spirit? Vote yes on Issue 1. I am brn6604 and I endorse this message. -

You can have my LE6920 for the 1250 I paid for it.

It has nothing to do with physically stopping the momentum of a moving mass, it is complete incapacitation of the target via major internal damage. Here's a read for you on the problems with projectiles that "pierce": http://www.texassmallarmsresearch.com/TechInfo/556Performance/556Performance.pdf Pages 3 and 16 make the main point

Almost everything you said in this post is wrong.

Quick google tells me that's a cheaper version of the 500, mexican parts, ~$200 brand new. Vent rib means there's a rib stood off on top of the barrel to sight along, helps prevent heat mirage. Pretty standard for most full length shotguns. Double bead means there is a bead mid length as well as at the muzzle, something more to help you line up (opinions vary). Modified is a mid-level choke most shotguns ship with, good all-around. Turkey is extra tight, probably not useful for much except blasting the heads off turkeys, or some super long range trap. With an interchangable choke system you can buy whatever choke tube you want and put it in there. I'm sure it's fine for shooting clays and birds. Don't think you want to swing a 28" barrel in your house. Hope this helps.

I don't want to say anything without seeing it. If it's somewhere I can check it out I'll take a look, may be into it for up to 1k, but if you just let it go I won't be upset... None of that stuff you listed as damaged really bothers me though. P.S. In my experience parting stuff out isn't worth it if you value your time.

That is an awesome price for M855... if they were open tonight I'd be there.

This is right now, when I was hoping to play Xbox. Fail. Turns out I have no other choice for internet around here.

I got TW to upgrade me to their best service, and it still sucks. Apparently my location as friends do not have the same issues. My ping is 150ms on a good day and 300+ regularily - really kills Xbox Live gameplay. I can sometimes see 7Mb+ download speed on that test, but most of the time cannot stream a low quality Youtube video. I need to try DSL...
