I need some 22 (short or LR, doesn't matter) for this weekend. Called Cinti area ranges, and only Target World had some in stock and would sell to me if I wasn't shooting at the range, but only allow one box of 50 rounds per person per day. Since I'm such a noob, lemme axe you this: Would it be inappropriate to ask someone browsing in the shop to buy me another box, i.e. act like it was for them? I don't know what the protocol is... Me too! Couldn't decide which color I like better, so bought one each of red, white, and black.

Caveat: I was comparing a new, relatively basic extra cab price to used units with notably more bells and whistles. My wife is the primary driver, and doesn't care about leather seats (actually, she doesn't like them at all), and other bells and whistles. It wasn't really an apples-to-apples comparison on my end. And I was probably trying to justify brand new vs. used. Tundra commercials during the Supercross races are making me bonkers. Holy crap I'd love to be able to justify the funds to do a Tundra up "right".

We were looking, too (thought the Avalanche was dead. It wasn't. Its paid-for, so we're keeping it). Toyota is running 0% apr right now (through end of March), which came to about $5k savings over the life of the loan. We found that the cost of a brand new Tundra was about the same as the 2007-2008s we were looking at, after the numbers were crunched. Few less bells and whistles, but new w/ warranty and known history. Someone mentioned Columbus West on here, so I looked. Lots of inventory. Not much in the Dayton area.

Thank you all VERY much for some good thoughts. It was a Springfield Armory that I used yesterday. At this point, not concentrating on concealed carry, and from watching threads on here, guns are like motorcycles (for most of us): Gonna have more than one, because no one machine (gun) will fit the bill for all that I want to do. Will check out Old English and Vandalia Tactical, too, for points of reference. Thanks again, very appreciated.

Thats funny. Just got off of the phone with my brother and he said that 9mm ammo is easier to find than 40 as 40 is a more popular caliber/ gun. Not doubting you, just saying... Kind of like a motorcycle tire discussion.

Haven't shot a lot of pistols, but rented a 9mm at Vandalia today and it "feels right". I like the weight, the grip, the pull, etc. I forgot to check the manufacturer (whoops). Can get it next time I go up. This is not a smaller CCW version. Thoughts on brands, alternatives, or things I should know/ consider in general?? TIA

1k is about 40 lbs heavier. Wheelbase etc are identical. I thought it would handle similarly. It doesn't. Most folks say that its the heavier flywheel in the 1k that makes most of the difference as most other components are nearly the same (weight-wise. Very few of the components are interchangeable between the 650 and 1k). I've gotten rid of the GSXR clip ons in favor of Pro Taper Woods Low bars, and its helped with the handling (better leverage). She's getting there....
